All I want in life is a good game about being an actual fucking wizard as depicted in most of fantasy.Being an old fuck who researches spells and tries to unravel the mysteries of existence. Enchanting items, scribing scrolls, gathering herbs and making potions, scrying with my crystal orb, teaching my familiar how to do menial tasks, fortifying my tower with defense spells, looking for new spells to learn and ancient tomes of forbidden lore to bring in my possession. I want to teleport to far away places and turn my enemies or myself into animals at will.Yet all I get is being a glorified archer in a robe, who throws fireballs and lightning instead of shooting arrows.
>>744591056If you can't be bothered to find a cool non AI wizard picture I can't be bothered to give you any answers. Fuck off nigger
>>744591056You can do all of that in skyrim
>>744591408But I can't play Skyrim AGAIN.
>>744591056Fromcancer ruined gaming forever. After Elden Ring got GOTY, the gaming market flooded with soulslops. They understood the human mind and realized that more difficult a puzzle you will throw at a human, the less he will pester you. Normaldrones eat up the slop given to them like feed given to cattle. A dog given a bone will not growl. Why make kino rpgs set in medieval fantasies when you can just make million easy boss-based soulcancer slop in the same time and will sell with guarantee?
>>744591056You might not like this answer but the closest game to representing the wizard experience is Minecraft with mods. Many magic mods come with their own magic systems that you need to study and research to master magic, instead of Press Button To Shoot Fireball. There are lots of options and I'm not current on them, but look up Astral Sorcery as an example example. No other game makes you actually get out a telescope and study the stars to start learning magic.
>>744592767you were right ... I didn't like the answercan't bring myself to play minecraft
>>744591505What about Morrowind?
>>744596109I might be even more burnt out on Morrowind than Skyrim. I played Morrowind literally directly after release and I'm pretty sure that there hasn't been a year since then that I left Morrowind untouched.
>>744592767I have come to the unfortunate conclusion that modded Minecraft fills basically every missing niche in gaming. It's arguably the next best Elder Scrolls outside the main series too.
>>744596631Oblivion is better for magic than Skyrim anyway
>>744596712Yeah I guess I should play Oblivion at some point again. I only played through it once - which is basically nothing compared to my time in the other two.
