Most of the times these aren't marketed outside Japan and are just arcade ports.

yeah, they even changed the buttons on the guitar controller. The music selection was awful though and they tried to implement streaming music into it that would change over time but fell on its' face when no one bought the game

They should have made one game that was a "platform" for all the other stuff and then you bought expansion packs for it so you didn't have to switch games to play that different song you wanted to play. Rock Band was heading in the right direction, but then the fad died
