The board is subtly wrong: the square colours are swapped.>>744594927To be fair, f3 and g4 are awful moves from first principles, not just because that opens up room for mate-in-one (let's imagine you're playing a handicap game and the opponent doesn't have a queen). They develop the pieces slowly, they cede the control over the centre of the board to Black, they compromise king safety, they block the mobility of your own queen and bishop on diagonals, f3 blocks your own knight from developing. Stockfish evaluates 1. g4 as the worst move (it's probably a forced loss) and 1. f3 isn't far behind. Like, there kinda isn't any principled reason whatsoever to make these moves, it's something you only do if you are just moving pieces around randomly. Like, the player here probably isn't clicking the fruit in Dumb Baby Fruit Match randomly and thoughtlessly: it's just that they don't like Chess for whatever reason so can't be bothered to as much as try. And yes, if they didn't derive the opening theory from first principles, they would do so after some matches (or being taught).

Stockfish tends to be competitive with the best humans with two pawn handicap so it would almost certainly come back to win from 1. g4 against super-GMs, and human noobs tend to blunder away theoretically winning advantages with their every move, so -1 starting evaluation is just par for the course.
