e33 had a very interesting narrative and wonderful music but silksong was overall an amazing game in every capacity. additionally the fact that silksong also made /v/ cry and shit it's pants for 4 months was an unexpected bonus point too. silksong did win the steam goty so at least it got that.

I play a lot of strategy games, and honestly e33 was not gripping me. I dont really like games where you just buff up someone or manipulate the action economy which is what i hear the meta is, and the dodge/parry system makes the fights about pattern memorization. I just stopped playing after 6ish hours and everyone told me the story and the builds really ramp up during act 2. If I can play shovelware like mario and rabbids and have fun the whole time, then the goty should be able to hold my attention. Maybe I gave up too soon and the game is mindblowing, but i have about 10 other strategy games i would play first. Never tried silksong so i cant comment. Honestly these past 4-5ish years have been dreadful for gaming with only a few good ones sprinkled around.
