How big of a flop would this be if they decided to remake this from scratch?
Probably won't go well. It's an easy-ish, but punishing arcade-y game, I don't see your average zoomer surviving past the residential district. Either that or they remove the multipliers and lives, so it's just a zero stakes game of going to payphones and just following an arrow until you get bored and drop it.What they should do, though, is remake GTA1 so you don't die every time you crash and you can actually aim your gun at people. Licenses also won't be an issue since majority of music is in-house.
>>744608928If you mean a modernized, fully 3D remake with modern gameplay then it would probably sell fairly well. Not as good as a mainline title but obviously the budget wouldn't be on the same level either. If the defective edition trilogy managed to sell well, that's proof that the GTA name itself is enough to sell copies. But I don't think modern Rockstar would be edgy enough to do something like the russian mafia mission where you kidnap random citizens with a bus and watch as they're pushed naked on a conveyor belt leading to a meat grinder and turned into hot dogs.
