>10 years since releaseWas it really worth it? In a world of multicore processors I'd say it's a pretty good alterative to Microsoft's bullshit API dx12 when it comes to porting to Linux and all the work emulators have gotten done switching over from OpenGL to play all are old games. I can think of maybe 6-10 steam released games iv played that use it well meanwhile dx12 games get releases out the ass, it isn't fair.
Why did they make the mascot hot?
give it timevalve's work on arm is going to heavily incentivise using it over dx12might even convince consoles and apple too
Every game on steam machine is running on Vulkan
>>744608949>Was it really worth it?Yes? It's a universal thing and the only other graphics API Linux had was OpenGL. The active development it receives is great.
can you explain how vulkan is better than opengl to a fellow brainlet? im still confused on exactly why its better
>>744612331OpenGL is ancient and has basically nonexistent multicore CPU utilisation
