Imagine living in one of those buildings and you take an elevator upstairs a little bit too fast and your lungs explode
>>744611223Uoh...
>>744611223I prefer Columbiathe true Eden
>>744611397I fear such a risk is worth it to live in a kino neo-gothic/art deco utopia miles under the sea. >>744611595what if Ryan hadn't completely fucked it and lost control of Rapture to splicers and gangsters?
Wouldn't living with no sunlight drive people insane in general?
>>744611926Columbia is cool and all but did they ever explain how the sky-lines work if the entire city can move and is affected by wind/bobbing etc? Wouldn't they just snap if one section moved too much relative to the place it's connected to?
Should I play Bioshock 2?
>>744611397You're not exposed to the water pressure. Nothing is going to happen.
>>744612132They have plasmids and advanced medicine I'm sure they can give people UV light therapy and vitamin-D pills.
>>744612396Yes.
>>744612396I've heard it referred to as the boring middle child of the series. The first was good because it was a unique setting (even thought it was literally a System Shock 2 clone minus the RPG mechanics) and Infinite was popular because of the controversy surrounding its development and copious amounts of Elizabeth SFM porn.BioShock 2 just kinda feels uninteresting besides the fact you get to play as a Big Daddy.
>>744611962this shit was my wallpaper in like 2009 fucking take me back
>>744612418However, if a window were to "break"...
>>744611223Home to Johnny Topside, not that boring clone.chad drill > cuck wrench
>>744615642Isn't it a bit of a disappointment to finally play as a Big Daddy, these things that you feared so much in the first BioShock, only to discover that in order for the game to be playable, you have to be nerfed into the fucking ground?
>>744616334And it was fun with better gameplay in literally every way over the original. In fact you could play as a "proper" big daddy in the first game. It was a terrible experience tied to an awful escort section, arguably the worst part of the game only rivaled by the awful final boss that followed it.
>smart Daddies get spliced at the GardenI just finished reading the Bioshock novel, it made me download Bioshock Remastered and try to play the game again at 4K/120fps but it doesnt hit like it did in 2008
>>744612396I skipped it but I hear lots of people like it despite making less of an impact
>>744612396bioshock 2 is better gameplay wise, much more polished. but in the end it feels more like a bioshock 1 dlc
>>7446168682's story is not original, but it ages better than 1. That's isn't a political argument either. 1's story relies on the absurd premise of the underwater city and hinges entirely on Andrew Ryan twist 3/4 of the way into the game. None of its characters are well developed or feel like real people, the player just moves from setpiece to setpiece. 2's characters and player motivations are much more engaging, Sinclair alone makes the game feel more alive than anything in 1. The ending climax and story resolution btfo 1.
>>744611926It's weird. I like Columbia's aesthetic more than Rapture's but in Bioshock Infinite the focus is taken away from the city and put onto some stupid quantum leap bullshit. If Infinite had just been it's own continuity and told a story about the pitfalls of Comstock's idealogy like the first game did with Andrew Ryan it might have been my favorite game in the series. But Eden is really just a backdrop in the end, and a lot of the elements that it shares with Rapture seem forced, particularly the vigors and handymen, who only seem to be there because the previous games had plasmids and big daddies.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okEmFtH_qgAIt's how it all began, way to leave an impression. I was still gullible and thought it would be game accurate.
>>744617191>le die endingno 2's ending was dogshit. i agree that the setpiece, almsot horror-esque of one does only climax at ryan but 2's ending is literally the same as infinite aka le die for other player nigger shit
OI BEGORRAH MOIRA AN ME LITTLE NIIPPERS AV BEEN BLEWN INTO SMITHEREENSILL GET YE FOR THIS YE FECKIN EEJIT RYAN
>>744611962Ryan was always going to fuck it because he was a retarded libertarian wackadoo. He didn't plan a society that would actually function long term because he was like the crazy prepper weirdos who build a "bunker" in their basement to hide out when the gubment goes worse but fill it with like guns and spaghetti-os and stop the planning there.
I want to smash one of those Adam addicted freaky bitches
>>744617368>but 2's ending is literally the same as infiniteYou are a simpleton.
>>744611397Or someone decides to flush a paper towel and you all drown.
>>744611223What's their tax policy?
>>744617734You have to provide at least one female child every ten years.
>>744617191The le mutant monster reveal in 2 was retarded though. It's a common strawman against communism that people aren't capable of being cooperative and need to be genetically reengineered to remove their desire to compete but if you think about it for 2 seconds you'd realize that's retarded because IRL people are perfectly capable of working together. In fact that's what 99% of the population does in a capitalist society as wagies. Wagies aren't really capitalists, they're just cooperating to please their boss, same way they would in communism. McDonalds burger flipper isn't really competing with a Burger King burger flipper, he's just trying not to get fired
>>744617734>t*xGuess who just volunteered to be part of the Big Daddy experiments?
>>744617734None, the city was paid for by a millionaire.
I really need to replay the games, I barely remember what the story is about, how they built Rapture etc.
>>744616334Have you played the game? You're practically the Doomguy of Rapture once you finish the first few levels. Even on hard mode, you have to implement your own handicaps if you wanna make replays a challenge at all.
>>744617850You mean Alexander? That entire section was kino. A devout midwit volunteered himself for adam dumping to obtain a greater group consciousness, and he went fucking insane. The last vestiges of his reason begged for a mercy killing. The ONLY problem with that section is that killing him as he wants counts as a negative point for the morality system and Eleanor's ending, but at the same time the game gives allows you to kill 1 of the 3 choices and still get the good ending. The devs probably realized that section was too gray and accounted for it.
>>744612396YesThe ideological rambling works best as a background piece to set the stage for a more personal struggle with family and fatherhood
>>744618204The problem is that this was their big anti-communist statement, this is how they've tried to show that the antagonists ideology was wrong. And they did it with this strawman argument instead of using one of many real arguments such as the fact that communism consolidates power which leads to corruption which leads to inefficiency which leads to the communist economy losing to the capitalist one. But the idea that humans can't peacefully cooperate on a genetic level is just stupid
>>744611926>people is cartoonishly racistno
>Still no remake with official VR implementationWhy live lads.
>>744611223the plumbing would be hell
>>744618562Some people just AIslopped a VR mod
>>744611926>I hate blacks so much! BUT... it would be wrong not to invite them to our utopia.
>>744611223Rapture is the most kino setting of all the settings
>>744612396Yes, specially if it has been years since you played bioshock 1
Would you live there?
>>744611926I wonder how Columbia is doing these days.
