I quite honestly cain’t wait for the day for nuclear war and for humanity to be shoved under ground and to be ruled by corporation which are ruled by an AI so I can finally become an Armored Core mercenary, I don’t care for much, I just want to pilot my mech and “eliminate squatters” and such, maybe test my luck in the arena, as get more and more currency I’d somehow preserve myself until armored cores would become more advanced and subsequently fuse myself with the AC and continue the cycle until I am eventually put down
>>744617949Cute fantasy but what's actually gonna happen is they're gonna put you in a low quality MT and you'll get blown up instantly by an enemy AC who probably didn't even notice your existence
>>744618679I got plans for that too
>>744618914If that happens and you survive, you could always larp as Chirico
>>744617949You're already brainwashed enough that they'll just brainwash you further to use you like cattle as always. Not special enough for an AC, sorry.

Being a Raven is such an insane thing. The costs associated alone are ridiculous, if we convert to dollars from the in-game currency then even a starter AC runs you $300,000, and millions for anything actually optimized. If credits are a post inflation economy value like suggested, with the closest value estimate being one credit equals $26.67 USD, then a 2 million credit AC costs like $53,000,000. Where the fuck is anyone gonna get that kind of money? Then you pay for ammo and repairs too. Literally your only chance is someone just happens to give you a shitty junk suicide AC and you manage to pull off insane wins.
>>744620562You liquidate your former livelihood to buy that starter AC. I mean, it worked for the protagonist of Master of Arena.

>>744617949The distinguishing factor between fictional sci-fi dystopias and our IRL dystopia is that fictional ones like Armored Core are masculine ones, where life is brutal but also full of excitement and potential purpose. IRL is feminine, being an infantalized subject being lorded over in the world-crib, comfortable but without purpose or excitement.
>>744618679ironically this is largely the plot of AC1i should go back to it
>>744621791I guess sleeping in the cockpit wouldn't be the worst thing ever.
>>744618679I'd actually just be one of the guys working on repairing ACs. That's probably a much more comfortable life.
>>744620562not the mention to master the thing requires insane skill and human durability. ac1 pilots are fine but ac 2 and even 3 pilots will get beaten by quickboosting
