Instead of doing the real classic version people wanted, they made some godawful amalgamation by taking stuff from multiple different seasons and even mixing in some modern stuff. Because of that the balance is so broken it's almost unplayable.

The original game has 500 characters, this new version has 20. It's not rocket science.

Chances are that your favorite character is not on this new version, and if they are, it might be a worst and clunkier version of them.

It's alright to go in and play a few matches just to remember the good old times if you played back then, but thinking that this will have any staying power is delusional.

Essentially, everything wrong with LoL Classic is a mirror of everything wrong with LoL. Part of the reason why Classic took so long in the first place is that the people in charge of it genuinely do not believe that old LoL was better than current LoL.

My biggest issue with classic is the insanely tiny champion pool, which isn't helped by the fact that certain champs are simply not worth playing(Olaf is his olafed version except his E has the AD ratio which was added later)

Came in here to post exactly this. Classic is nothing like the actual old league. It's a hodgepodge of Season 3+ content (i.e. after the game already started going to shit) with a shitty coat of paint.
Literally all they had to do was copy a Pre-Season or Season 1 (hell I'd take Season 2 at this point) build and refine it to patch out the (objectively unfun) bugs and exploits. But if they did that it'd cut into the modern build's already dwindling playerbase so they made it bad on purpose as a "gotcha" to everyone who wants the game to not be shit.
