If it makes sense to get rid of discs because people aren't buying them, then it also makes sense to get rid of digital licenses when everything ends up conglomerated onto PS Plus and people just pay a monthly sub to play games.

Hell, you can take it one step further and get rid of the console entirely. Make everyone stream games. If lack of popularity is enough to remove a core feature of consoles, why not discontinue the PS5 Pro which no one bought (currently doing worse than the Xbox)?
