>>744624764Even on HM you can one-shot (one-turn?) him. There are so many builds that push your spell save DC to ludicrously high numbers, and then follow that up with command. I had my Sword Bard Gale use the helmet of arcane acuity+arrow of many targets to boost his save dc, and then use the band of the mystic scoundrel+command to lock down Raphael. Then my paladin, monk, and fighter just fucking whaled on him. BG3 is actually really easy once you understand how the mechanics work and are autistic enough to min-max/itemize properly. Orin can also be similarly cheesed on HM with hold monster, and Ansur can be neutralized with globe of invulnerability.

But when you can actually start getting good enchanted shit it becomes super easy starting at level 5 (earlier if you picked a busted side class like blade warlock). I blew up the space frog boss room with quicken fire ray spam and grease while my quickened frog wife leaped across the entire room and turned into a beyblade. Your power level explodes at 5 and 9. I couldn't beat honor mode until I picked alert as my first feat for all characters though.

But yeah you're right once you get level 4 (Feat) and 5 (extra attack) the game becomes piss easy. Basically as long as you do minimal combat from level 1-3 and don't walk into stupid encounters without being rested later you can't party wipe. Granted it's entirely a knowledge check to know which encounters are potentially troublesome (Giths, Last Light basement, Shadow Cursed Shambling Mound, in my experience)
