It annoys me how Xinput is still the standard library being used for controller-based games 20 years on. We are still being artificially limited to the inputs of a 360 controller just because Microsoft didn't have the foresight to futureproof their API.

Piece of shit marks discs with a permanent circle dent if you slightly move it while playing, one bad fall and the faceplate comes straight off, the disc tray can straight up refuse to play games. On top of it sounds like a fucking jet engine. RRODs were the least of this thing's worries. No reason to get one nowadays unless you want to play a specific game like Gears of War 2 or Lost Odyssey, and even then you can easily play those through Xbox Series BC, I think. Or just emulate on Xenia. It was fun for the first 5 years of its life cycle then it went to shit.

The NXE UI was a downgrade compared to Blade and made the system sluggish. All but a handful of games from that era aged like shit.
