Grass isn't a very good typing to use in regular playthroughs and the better ones are definitely not the starter (Exeggcutor, Lilligant, Whimsicott, etc...), but the Grass starters still aren't bad picks. I almost always go for the grass starter. IDK, I've just always liked the aesthetic of the grass type, despite it being objectively cucked compared to fire/water (most weaknesses in the game, most resistances to it too). Things have gotten a little better, but GF definitely had it out for grass types in the early gens. Inexplicably grass moves were almost nonexistent and the few that did exist often were rare or had shit PP. Like only 1 giga drain TM in the game with 60 power and 5 pp when fire/ice/water/electric had your standard 95 bp moves like flamethrower in unlimited supply, or solarbeam being useless outside sunny day.Maybe I just like underdogs.Chikorita will always be a shit though
