What is the worst mission in ALL of gaming history?
>>
the gabbagool - sopranos ps2
>>
>>744629542
While there is no single factual consensus, "Demolition Man" in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, "Wrong Side of the Tracks" in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and the "Water Temple" in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time are widely cited by players as the worst missions in gaming history.

Code Vein - Cathedral of the Sacred Blood
Game instantly went from a 6 to a 0. Unplayable trash.
>>
>>744630590
this, genuinely one of the worst levels in gaming history. Tedious and boring as fuck, what the hell were they thinking?
>>
>>744629542
That remote mini helicopter mission in Vice City

>HOW FUCKIN HARD IS IT TO REMEMBER SALAMI ON RYE LETTUCE MAYO MUSTARD, JOEY?

all we had to do...

that one basically made me put the game down for 20 years

The Driver tutorial when you're 6 years old
>>
>>744631052
The train mission isn't that hard.
There are way too many missions that have "fall off your bike once and you more or less fail" premises.
>>
>>744630360
It’s actually quite enjoyable to sell the kid into slavery
>>
>>744630590
This place almost made me suicidal. And then when you're near the end there's a portal that leads to a completely optional area, artificially extending the amount of space in my brain this dogshit cathedral takes up.
>>
>>744630957
>long time ago 14 year old me managed to complete the meme-hard helicopter mission from second try, never having played this mission before despite having played Vice City at age 6
Do millenialcvcks really?

From anal rodeo to anal cunt.

>>744630590
kek this
>>
>>744631052
I actually did this multiple times, however the second to last mission where you get ambushed by the game arbitrarily telling you need to control a certain amount of hoods (like 15 or so) that are always under attack? that’s why I’ve never finished SA
>>
>>744631207
it doesn't get any easier when you're older
>>
>>744629542
probably some escort quest with a retarded NPC

Heisenberg's factory just SUCKS as a segment. It looks cool, but it's kind of a slog, the boss fight sucks and it's just not fun to play through.
>>
ace combat 5 mission 19
>>
What if we made an entire level about the brief feeling of absolute clunkiness you get in every game when the character is surfacing or submerging in water? And then made you guess an arbitrary path of an instakill object every so often?

childhood games are full of THAT missions, there is a lot more hand holding going on in modern games, back then the games just said "skill issue git gud"
>>
>>744630275
Just played wrong side of the tracks 2 days ago (fully ported ps2 version) and finished right at the entrance of the tunnel. I was pretty amazed at myself
>>
>>744630590
I thought this level was cool and never understood the hate for it. It's a visually nicer area than the ruins and caves you go through in earlier levels and the maze was fun to navigate
>>
>>744631207
what the FUCK is slalom
>>
>>744637675
Playing it for multiple hours until you get it by pure chance
>>
>>744630360
lore reasons its fucking retarded and non canon just like the rest of 4, 76, and the tv show

but it was funny selling a child into slavery as nate the homicidal rake
>>
>>744630275
Water Temple isn't even fucking hard, its just tedious for toggling your boots on and off with the pause menu every other room.

The sewers level in Futurama, I legit could not beat it as a kid and its a fucking sewer level on top of that.

>visually nicer
>visually
>nicer
It's white-on-white assault on retinas that all blends together, nothing about that piece of shit is "visually nice"
>>
>>744639872
I like how this is layed out so it wastes as much of your time as possible
>>
>>744629542
gamestop store credit side mission. if you're smart you'll avoid it entirely but almost everyone has done that stupid quest at least once
>>

How did God of War make the transition from action game to this?
>>
>>744639872
I hate modern gaming.
I remember there was one segment like this in DmC and I fucking HATED it.

The Fade
>>
Floor 48 of the Tower of Oz in Maplestory is up there. It's a jump quest (platforming stage) where all the platforms you have to jump on are invisible
>>
>>744641137
Yeah, this is awful and IMO far worse than Deep Roads. It’s basically just trial-and-error bullshit that isn’t even that interesting in plot sense.
>>
Sniper Town
>>
>>744630590
Oh yeah, dropped the game here after jumping from a long bridge №23 to a long bridge №41
It's like a child drew a bunch of scratches and they made an entire level out of that, both visually and navigationally
>>
It's probably not the worst mission of all time, but for me personally it'll always be the three wyvern eggs quest from monster hunter freedom 1.
>>
>>744641768
also its the exact same thing every time with zero variation in a game designed for multiple playthroughs. What were they thinking!?
>>
>>744629542
>>
>>744631052
it's funny how this mission was so hard for me when i was a child
now, when im a manchild, this mission is piss easy

SA had way worse missions than that
>>
>>744643220
Everything I've struggled with as a kid is piss easy now.
>>
>>744642852
Yeah, even combat gauntlets at least let you have fun with your class abilities, but Fade is like an extremely drab-looking point-and-click adventure smack dab in a RPG game. A horrid fit.
