I dont even care about discovering games ive never played before anymore, I think i'd prefer to just replay something I've already played desu

Like what?

I'm the complete opposite, I'm constantly looking for obscure niche games that I haven't played yet, even using Google translate to play them. I think the next step is learning Japanese.

Sounds like you have slop fatigue. There's so much trash out there these days. Just stuff that's really low effort or copies of something else that's trending (Backrooms type shit) and it gets old sifting through it. Everything doesn't have to be gold, but God damn. Used to be a time when you'd find oddball games that might not have gotten a lot of attention, but they had charm and were worth sticking around for. Bullet Witch, Tenchu Z and Eat Lead are good examples. Hard to find the hidden treasure games now.
