The movie is actually not good, but Zilla's design is great and you can tell it's good because japs had such a tiny dick inferiority complex about it they had to have their own version kill it in their shitty avengers endgame kaiju movie from 2007.

The design, similarly, is not fitting for Godzilla but looks cool as fuck in isolation, as pretty much everyone has come to agree now that the movie can't generate much controversy anymore.It did pave the way for a thin Goji in Shin Godzilla and the opening of Minus One, though, and those designs both worked great since Godzilla still resembled his normal self enough to balance it out. So the movie deserves some credit.
