I never went to any, and any game that generally had a midnight launch also had an excess of copies so you could go the next day and pick it up anyway. It was more of a proximity thing for me though, as I would have had to take a bus and they end after midnight so I'd have to wait until the next day anyway. Better to get sleep and then go in the afternoon, buy some snacks and spend the rest of the day gaming.

There was this time my friend and I stood in line for the midnight release of Pokemon HGSS and we chatted with the guy behind us, then he was behind us in line at a Super Street Fighter 4 play demo party, and then he was in front of us a few weeks after that at a Kojima signing.
