The way the room escape puzzles integrate so well with the story... there's nothing quite like it.
>>
isn't the plot just a death game?
t. didnt play

there is an even better game, VLR !
>>
complex
>>
>>744638347
yes but that's like saying MGS is just a sneaking game

the death game is the framing device, the actual hook is how the puzzles, timelines, and character routes all start folding into each other until the DS itself becomes part of the story. play the DS version if you can, the ending hits way harder there.
>>
>the bad guy was just off camera the entire time
>>
The story quite literally does not make any sense.

I love VLR. Can't believe ZTD dropped the ball so hard.
>>
>>744639376
first time travel story?
>>
>have prosopagnosia
>this game comes out
>everyone now just thinks I see people as monkeys every day
>>
I like 999.
I VLR except for the 2 hours of the map and seeing the same intro and Quark screaming multiple times.

I've always wondered why someone with this disorder couldn't ID someone based on something else. Like build, or walking gait, or hair, or clothes, or voice.
Like, Junpei is wearing the same fucking jacket in the picture "puzzle" that Ace couldn't solve. It'd have to be much more than just face blindness for this kind of deficit.

Mine makes it so that if people have roughly the same outfit and hair then I can't tell them apart until they start talking. My first girlfriend always got mad whenever I walked past her because she has dark hair and a black coat like 2/3 of everyone around her.

I wish Uchikoshi made good games again.
Escape Rooms are popular now. There must be demand for a spiritual Zero Escape successor

*choose betray*
*make a dash towards the exit*
*get tackled to the ground, beaten to a pulp, while Clover sneaks through the 9 door.*

I like how the miserable torture chamber exists as a sign that you're on the path to a bad ending.

Seem more like a difficulty/inability forming memories about details of people rather than just face blindness. It seems to be more sight-based details since you knew it was your GF when you heard her voice. Interesting. Perhaps some fuckery with neurons from sight receptors and the place where memories are formed.
Brains are weird.

I still can't believe this cognitive disease is real and not some fantasy bullshit.
What the fuck do you mean you can't differentiate faces? Facial features aren't some illusion, they are tangible aspects that differ from person to person. It's like someone telling me that they can't tell the difference between a chihuahua and a labrador.
>>
>>744640535
Can you tell the difference between two cheetahs within the first 2 deconds?
>>
>>744640660
If I got a close-up of their faces yes
>>
>>744640535
>>744640304
It's a memory thing, not a visual thing. I can see that faces are different, I just can't link them to a person. I couldn't tell you what my mom looks like apart from her hair color, for example.
>>
>>744640713
I see. That makes more sense.
>>
>>744640713
I honestly wonder if I have a minor version of it or something, because I've always had trouble with remembering faces/details even when I was little. Eventually, I can remember someone, but it takes active effort. For instance, my boss at work, I've seen and talked with her numerous times, but I can't recall her face.
The people who describe shit to sketch artists always felt like magicians to me.

I'll never forgive Uchikoshi for letting everyone else get away outright treachery scot-free while the universe bends over backwards to shit on the protagonist.
>>
>>744640986
I can generally recognize people, but for me it's more that I have trouble memorizing names.

I hated AI's "gameplay" so much. I don't know why he couldn't just stick to making more escape rooms.
