Being ADHD is annoying as fuck. There's a billion games I want to play, I uninstall a bunch, download a bunch, play them, get bored, then repeat.
>>
>>744643018
ADHD people work best under a timer.
>>
I think that sand can be quite usesul too.
>>
Stop giving in to made up labels, discipline your mind. Don't take drugs given by doctors
>>
>>744644672
Every time someone mentions ADHD, there's always that one dude that's like "ADHD is fake, bro, don't take drugs, get disciplined", completely denying any and all science and research like a fucking caveman.

>ADHD didn't exist before the digital age!
And people used to believe cutting your skin and allowing blood to spill would cure you of disease. People also used to believe that you could prove a woman was a witch (or not) by drowning her underwater. Germ Theory wasn't even a thing prior to the 19th century.

We have technology to avoid retardation. Let's fucking use it instead of calling shit made up.
I bet you avoid vaccines too, don't you?
>>
>>744644672
I don't take the meds but you sound like a retard. It's very clearly a real thing.
>>
>>744644856
the funny thing is, ADHD would likely be a beneficial trait in the pre industrial era
>>
>>744643018
Is this adhd? Cause I do this a bunch and dont know how to stop other than just installing and playing one at a time
>>
>>744643018
Wait untill something randomly clicks and now youve spent the last 2 months playing one game 20h /day and you cannot do anything else in your life and everything around you is falling apart.
>>
>>744643018
Honestly I don't know anon, I've heard you should set systems and maybe find something outside of games but honestly, there are few things like videogames that provide that instant feedback and dopamine that our brains so thoroughly crave
>>
>>744644926
It /could/ be inattentive-type ADHD. I'll tell ya my story and you (and other nonnies) could pick out similarities.

When I was in my early twenties, I never considered I had it. I was hanging out at my friend's house playing on their playstation and he watched me open up a game, play it for five minutes, close it, and then open another, repeated for like ten games.
I didn't even realize I was doing it. Like, I had zero clue until he was like "Dude, you went through like 8 games and you only played them for like three minutes".

I thought about it when I went home. Talked to a psychologist. Got tested. Lo' and behold, ADHD (inattentive-type).
Now, for context, I was already diagnosed with Severe Recurring Major Depressive Disorder (depression), so I was already lacking in dopamine. There was the chance I didn't have ADD at all and it was simply depression being a bitch.
That said, ADD medication has 100% helped me out, so I'm p confident in it, but every brain is different.
>>
>>744644926
When you consider that normgroids just play CoD or Fortnite every night for an hour or two after fucking their girlfriends it becomes obvious something is wrong if you're juggling 4-5 different niche games constantly and playing 6+ hours a day every day.
>>
>>744644856
Oh my fauci
>>
ADHD is not real lmao
>>
>>744644856
Hey I got "diagnosed" too, but I didn't use it as an excuse for everything and decided to actually try. You're in control of your mins
>>744644883
Take the ritalin retard, you don't have a brain to fuck up anyway might as well take some meth

Play Nuclear Throne.
>>
>>744645254
Why this particular game? Genuine question
>>
>>744644856
People saying that ADHD is fake just because it wasn’t recognized historically are retarded and aren’t really worth debating with, but it’s also good to recognize that many people have a learned attention disorder that comes from bad habits and can be eased by curtailing those bad habits.

I wouldn’t recommend anyone to run to doctor first if they have trouble focusing, but to first try to fix their brains by slowing down the pace of their lives by removing most of the optional ”noise” and avoiding multitasking. Now, if that doesn’t help and/or symptoms have been continuous since early childhood, then you have a case for meds.
>>
>>744645245
I mean, obviously, don't use ADHD as an excuse to sit there and bedrot. I'd personally say if you have the time, hit the gym.
If you hit the gym, you'll find a bit of dopamine from exercising, a bit of happiness from knowing you're doing something objectively positive, and, most importantly, maybe a hyperfixation.
If you develop a fixation to exercising, you win life. Everyone with ADHD should head to the gym to see if it "clicks" with them. Just don't take roids.

And then because you're not playing games every day, they start to have a novelty factor that helps you actually complete them regardless of ADHD.
Good to do. And you can do it even if you're unmedicated or undiagnosed but suspecting.

ADHD and autism. Why does everything feel so wrong, anons?

They even said I'm unemployable. I just wanted to fucking stock shelves at Walmart because organizing shit is actually enjoyable for me. "You never work a day in your life."
>>
>>744644856
It doesn't help that you also had waves of overdiagnoses. Like starting in the 90s in the US (South Park made fun of it), while in my country ADHD diagnoses were handed out like candy 20 years ago to unruly dumbass piece of shit kids leading to people getting the impression that it's just a general form of retardation.
>Germ Theory wasn't even a thing prior to the 19th century.
Given how normies operate, I wonder if there were people who had the inkling of germ theory prior to that but were dismissed at best and actively harmed and suppressed at worst.
>>
>>744646067
>while in my country ADHD diagnoses were handed out like candy 20 years ago
Also happened with diagnoses of dyslexia in my country, btw. There is a massive difference between kids who just won't bother to learn how to spell and clinical dyslexia, in case of the latter there's a huge disconnect between their general level of intelligence and how they spell, they can be fucking incomprehensible and even do shit like confuse the letter W with M.

>>744646067
There were plenty
One of them being Ignaz Semmelweis
>early 1800s, maternal wards causing high deaths for moms and doctors alike
>Doctor who first advocated for hand washing before entering wards
>Reduced mortality rate from 18% to 2%
>Claims rejected by public
>Outcast by the community
>Committed to an asylum and beaten to death
F. At least his work was given its rightful dues after his death

Many games are very slow and boring in pacing in comparison to Nuclear Throne. It is also satisfying to play Nuclear Throne even if you had a very short session with it.
>>
>>744643018
I had the ability to actually obey my ADHD urges abused out of me, so I just get intensely sleepy after playing anything I enjoy for like half an hour as my nerves start disengaging. The only consistent exception I've found is stuff where I have to restart so often I never fall into a flow.
>>
When i get overwhelmed by an MMO i make a list of things i want to accomplish, like x amount of quests done

It helps for about an hour or two
>>
>>744646681
Fuck, I didn't know this story. Normalfags are profoundly evil people.
We saw a microcosm of this behavior during covid. I hate to be all like "le both sides bad" but both among "trust the Fauci" narcs and right-wing types who outright rejected science.
>>
>>744647048
I feel the same way. I was sceptical of the covid vax because it was a slapdash rush job that came out in 1/5 the time it nornally takes for a vaccine ti be approved with zero long term clinical trials

But i still get my meningitis boosters
>>
>>744646803
Thank you, I'm gonna try the game

What's up with this ADHD/autism spiel that been going around lately, is it the latest scam?
>>

you should try working at a library, idk how it works there but here people diagnosed with disabilities are pretty much guaranteed an interview. We have lots of employees with the 'tism that just like to sort books. I spent a whole day last week sorting our comics by publisher and series because I didn't like that they were all mixed in with each other.
>>
>>744643018
Some of my time i'm like that, i download, install, play a few hours then uninstall. Currently i started a CK3 and HoI4 binge that will last 1-2 months

>>
>>744644896
True, just do primal shit OP.
ADHD is just a fancy term for Primal brain.

Go outside, climb a tree, carry a big rock up a mountain.
My neighbors all think I'm retarded, they're correct.

When it rains or the sun goes down, then you go back to your cave and play vidya.
>>
Legit question. Can people with ADHD play grand strategy games? From time to time i hyperfocus and play 10 hours a day and other times i can't be bothered to boot the game.
>>
>>744652419
I shit you not back in grade school kids would make fun of me for washing my hands after using the toilet. Normalfags are filthy by default, they need to have cleanliness beaten into them from early childhood. Many of them stopped taking showers altogether during covid because it wasn't expected of them socially (normalfags base everything they do on social expectations, that's why they'll drop a hobby they may have enjoyed individually if they believe it'll make them look bad in front of people). Many people already admit to not showering daily and like 20% of men in the UK wear the same pair of underwear all week, and that's just the amount that will admit it. Remember that the next time they'll spout mocking platituted that you don't have a girlfriend because you don't shower.
>>

>Remember that the next time they'll spout mocking platituted that you don't have a girlfriend because you don't shower.

Many men don't even wipe their ass and get a GF.

Only people who enter other's homes, Internet, plumbers, etc. Know the true squalor these subhumans live in.
>>
>>744643018
Pick one game and finish it before playing another game.
>>
>>744654665
Yes, people tend to hang out with ones like them. This is why many moderately high IQ people have severe trouble dealing with genuinely low IQ ones because they can't fathom their behavior, they are like Native Americans with no defenses against smallpox. I was quite sheltered as a kid so I received quite a bit of culture shock in my young adulthood.
Also, a few years ago I ordered a used Xbox 360 E cheaply. The console was at least functional but the casing especially in the vent area was absolutely slathered with filthy gunk, and the controller was so filthy I had to disassemble it and clean the buttons because they'd struggle to press. It gave me another glimpse because I wouldn't even know how to make it so filthy on purpose.

>>744654875
easy to say as a non ADHDer

I really hate how stigmatised ADHD. From those who think it’s fake or those who make it their entire personality. It’s a struggle but you see chicks online go “teehee my ADHD made me do it!”

I don’t think I’ve told anyone I have ADHD because it’s nothing but downsides. They’re not gonna excuse anything I do and I wouldn’t want to be a person that wants anything I do to be excused

That's hyperactive-type
Inattentive is the bad one. That's where you just procrastinate constantly, forget things, have no motivation and can't be bothered to climb a tree because you've done it before and it's not novel anymore.
>>
>>744658849
Honestly part of ADHD getting misunderstood is due to the name alone. Normies are all about vibes, they look at the "hyperactive" part and think it's all about running around and being distracted like "oh look a squirrel" when there's so much more about it and more debilitating.
But misconceptions happen anyway regardless of semantics. There's so much (justified) focus on the social aspect of autism that very few non-professionals pay attention at the fact that it's also a disorder of movement, or that being obsessed about a subject does not guarantee that one will be competent about it.

Most people aren't actually ADHD they're just a combination of low intelligence, neglectful parenting and youthful vigor.
If you just shut the fuck up and focused on the task even if it doesn't immediately stimulate your little pecker you'd quickly learn to escape this undisciplined retardation you call "ADHD"

This goes for 100% of the anons ITT who thinks they have it

The good news is is that the fix for you really is simple

The funny southpark bit works on children out of fear and they also end up learning how to pretend they are doing shit.
Do this to an adult with ADHD and they are not going to comply that easily and it is hard to find someone willing to constantly want to babysit a manchild.

I've seen that clip reposted a lot on xitter by the "ADHD is bullshit" crowd where they don't know they're being made fun of in that episode
That side of xitter is weird anyway, like PC Principal and the episodes that mock SJW shit are a decade old at this point but I see those clips reposted and people treating them as if they were brand new
