98% of arch users don't even use the AUR. Fedora is straight run by Redhat while Arch is just Arch with SystemD. Also SystemD hate is stupid, it's actually something that's good. Especially after Grub fuckery.

And this is why it never had any ridiculous security breaches like Arch has. I know that, and Im fine having with a big zaddy who gets paid to deliver me clean packages. If things get too glowy, I can always jump ship.
>SystemD hate is stupid
No its not if you are a Linux purist. SystemD is antithetical to Linux philosophy because it gave a backdoor and a way for glowies to control the linux eco system
>>744645569
CachyOS is a flavor of Arch. That means its Arch, but its distribution comes with pre installed stuff in it, so that you wont have to lift your finger. Arch starts barebones, and you are free to install whatever you want it in it. To be fair, the new Arch installation wizard and CachyOS did bring lots of retards to Arch ecosystem.
Fun fact, the hackers have tried to attack lots of CachyOS related packages in the first atomic AUR attack, because they assumed CachyOS users are Archtards who dont know their shit, and just install scripts randomly

Fedora's repositories (like RPM) are always clean, and nobody uses COPR because there is no need. On the other hand, I had to go to AUR in Arch to install Mullvad and Deadbeef because they are not in Pacman or flatpak.
People use unmaintained packages from AUR. I remember one of the most used unmaintained AUR package, was a package that allows you to use a VR headset. That got pwned in the 1st AUR attack.
>take off your tinfoil hat
No I wont. SystemD's transparency will be put to the test pretty soon. If nothing happens, then I might reconsider.

The script archinstall? It only provides meta packages for DEs that are like just placebo packages with shit tons of dependencies. Like KDE meta packages takes everything KDE. Calamares installer is better in a sense as you can pick what you specifically want. I don't even get why Arch didn't just do that instead. However for a base installation archinstall is perfect (and insanely easier than manual) and adding stuff post installation is piss easy, it's what I've done.

AI may have caused the hardware hellscape we live in now, but that's one silver lining of it - it's rendered unhelpful surly Linux forums totally obsolete. It's especially a good resource to have now with the rise of atypical schizo distros like Artix, where doing anything significantly off the beaten path is like pulling goddamn teeth due to the lack of systemd. I was actually on Artix for a few months recently but switched back to EndeavourOS last week, though I'm still keeping my Artix partition ready to go back into, in case systemd age verification faggotry really can't be goosed easily when the time comes

Modern politics is rootless and Jewish, so all policy favours moneyed interests which leads to corporate oligarchy, debt and inflation. CEOs are judged on their performance at increasing either profits or share value. The product doesn't have to work, it's purpose is to generate profit. This can be done by either adding value and charging more or by cutting costs. CEOs see ai as the magic bullet to solving their largest cost center (payroll). Remember, the product doesn't have to work, it's just a macguffin.

no you cant get one unless you disable windows defender and press .exe file with malware
>>
>>744670620
it's not impossible, it requires workarounds
not like it matters, you're not going to install them if you don't use a command that specifically pulls from it
>>
>>744672512
did you miss the handful of windows defender zero days just this year?
>>
>>744672512
because the internet has been centralised
you're not going on random websites and malicious sites get raped in the SEO

because modern virus are not funny haha pikachu popup, the user should never know they have a virus. Either making your pc a botnet, some info stealer or even 3 letter agency backdoor, no matter what it is, modern virus will never show signs they exist

even if you browse random porn sites with popups you cant get malware on windows

Those are already there from the start, this is fact.

It's that simple. Being on the bleeding edge is stupid unless you're a hobbyist.
>>
>>744645496
you read the instructions that tell you how to do that, and then you do that and it actually works because it's not Windows
>>
>>744644591
>use an external package repo not maintained by the distribution and containing a ton of user generated packages that can be orphaned and adopted with little oversight
>it may contain malicious software
It's no different than downloading software off the internet.
If it's a community repo, you should be checking the packages before you install them.
>>
>>744645496
>pull source from github
>follow basic instructions on that github page
It's usually that simple.
>git clone github.com/that_shit_you_want.git
>cd that_shit_you_want
>mkdir build
>cd build
>cmake ..
>make -j (total CPU cores)
and maybe, if it's a really fancy repo
>make install

Gentoo does not have this issue

AUR is simply too naive and they're paying the price
All they need to do is fix package adoption and establish a trust system

Linux is fine as long as you are not using GNU as coreutils, GNU comes with cp installed.

reminder that the latest wave of linux malware is entirely funded by bill gates
consumer linux used to be safe for decades when it was niche, most malware tried to either target the server side or directly exploit the kernel because that's where the money was, but now that linux pcs are gaining steam gates is paying hyper competent north korean hackers and indians who jeet in deliberately unsafe packages to focus on making it unusable for the little guy while not hurting his server and ai businesses because of course azure runs on linux

that is just you being lazy.
you have learned to hide behind autism and OCD as an excuse for helplessness
it is a mental illness far more sinister than either of the two excuses you gave, because you actively work to hide its true nature.

I can understand the indians since those not born here are scummy scammers, but where do the koreans go into this
>>
>>744681625
koreans act on impulse just like the izzat farming indian infiltrators
>>
>>744681625
north korea unironically has some of the strongest and most motivated hackers in the world, ready to work for any amount of dollars because the country's currency is convertible solely into toilet paper which then combos into instant execution for the crime of defacing money

Iv started compiling things myself from source. its a bit of a learning curve but its worth it considering the fucking risk of installing things from other people that arent checked or verified by any kind of standards.

Give some examples of some software that is only on the AUR.
>>

I have like 3 packages from there and I always check the PKGBUILDS because sometimes the maintainers just write them wrong.

Dont call it this, call it what it actually is: Spyware. The reason that it doesnt work on linux is because the linux kernel will not let such insanely invasive spyware work, and the windows NT kernel will.
