SHOW ME THE CHAMPION OF LIGHT
Everything about Alan Wake 2 was cringe as fuck
>>744647504imagine having fun
>>744647113What a KINO game. Remedy is the last dev that isn't afraid of true SOVL.
>a bad take on In the mouth of madness>but with am amateur musical number in the middle of it
>>744647113Poets of the Fall have honestly carried Remedy so hard since Alan Wake 1.
>>744647682for me it's max payne 2https://youtu.be/AzsiE44Lz_w?si=uK_5HYBILN_Ui0z2
>>744647723Sam Lake wrote this song so it doesn't count.
>>744647723I'm with you, but what I was implying is that the Max Payne games were better than anything Remedy put out since, while the band's only gotten better over time.>>744647917Sam and Marko are childhood friends so it narrowly still counts for me. Marko was even the model for Vlad in 1.
SHOW ME THE MODS OF REDDIT!!!!
>>744647974I see what you mean>>744647917It's based on a poem he wrote, he didn't write the song iirc
>>744647995I'll show you the jannies of 4chan
>>744647504cringe is weakness leaving the body
fucking kill yourselves finntroons
>>744648676I'm danish actually, I love my finnbros they make good games and that is based
>>744647564Minus sixty one
>>744647113>Now let's talk about Phantasy Star and Ys
>>744647504that's a strange way to spell kino
who's excited for control !!
>>744649645it's an action rpg so im really curious if they can pull it off
>>744647113This song was unfairly catchy
>>744649645I'll get it for $5 but based on the first game I'm not going to pay any more than that.
>>744649681It's kind of a dangerous gamble for them, let's hope they manage. Melee action games are far less forgiving for bad gameplay compared to over the shoulder shooting or more floaty combat like in Control.
>>744649681>>744649852The gameplay they've shown so far looks janky as shit but I'll like it anyway.I hope they're not too afraid to continue the first game to make this accessible for people who haven't played it but it looks like that is the case.
Control 2 very soon, what are the chances it will flop and Remedy will downscale to make games for the old Remedy audience, I'm still hoping the MP remakes will be good
Is there an actual different ending on Final Draft or is it still le Saga menugasm
>>744650280I'm excited for those remakes it's been what 20 years and we still haven't gotten any pure Max Payne-likes.
For me it's Yötön Yö.
>>744647113Herald of Darkness was the better song
>>744650787t. Scratch
>>744649852>>744650118>>744650280Control is their IP they can expand the most on, it's an interesting setting and very open. Sam Lake wrote Max Payne in a way that the story kind of wraps up, so it felt weird when Rockstar tried to continue it. Quantum Break is owned by Microsoft. I think they're aware that if they goof Remedy is in trouble.
>>744650845Dark Ocean Summoning was better than both, what now?
>>744650310It continues from the normal ending
>>744649645From all i've seen it looks like early 2010s western hack n slash AKA SOVL
>>744650564If you didnt watch the whole thing you didnt beat the game
>>744647113here you go
>>744650564Ahti randomly singing the song in the community center. Then the Mayor dog shows up later
I dropped this at the first level where you get to control Alan, does it get better?
Inserting a boring black woman in a finnish/scandi setting was so forced and disingenuous that the game left a sour taste. And Im saying that as a black man. Game could have been so much better.
>>744652064It peaks in the 2nd Alan & Saga areas. Their first levels are the worst ones in terms of design, but if you didn't enjoy them you won't enjoy the rest anyways.
The face that made Thor cum his pants
Does 2 actually resolve anything? Does Alan reunite with his wife? Do they ever address the fact that Alan rewriting the lake into an ocean basically unleashed the darkness into the world?
>>744649645I'm not trusting Remedy anymore. If people say it's good after it's been out for years then I might check it out.
>>744653175What do you have to lose by playing on release?
>>744650280>what are the chances it will flop and Remedy will downscale to make games for the old Remedy audienceAnon those games are over 20 years old. It's never happening. The kind of people who would want to make games like Max Payne probably don't even work in this industry anymore.
>>744653171>Does Alan reunite with his wife? They're both working together inside the dark place, not physically together but communicating at least. Alan can get out after the ending if he wants to although i doesn't seem like he does>Alan rewriting the lake into an oceanthat was just a metaphor for the inside of the lake being endless, but yes it's a plot point that him writing things again and again fucked up the real world a lot
>>744649645hope this will play well with mouse and keyboard since i played all of Remedy games with that
>>744652616Finland is 25% black now, not that outlandish
>>744653318I'm talking about AW1 too, their budgets are just too bloated for them to sell that well so they have to resort to partnerships like Epic Games
>>744649645Oh boy, I sure hope that Kim Belair and Sweet Baby Inc. will help fleshing out the story this time around too!
>>744650280max payne is paid for by rockstar so even if this flops it won't happen
They seriously thought this was gonna be some kind of iconic scene remembered for it's quirkiness
>>744659318Iconic no memorable yeah
>>744658325If you've played the game, literally his work gets rejected because not deemed good. He's a shit writer basically.
>>744647113KINO
>>744660860It got rejected because the evil white people didn't like how he spits truth.
>Kojima but good
>>744661770Is this a realistic ai render of the smugjack meme?
>>744647113All these sections felt like someone saw people like the concert fight in AW1 and thought "let's just do even more of those" without understanding what actually made the scene good
>>744653231NTA, but money.
>>744658325>Treating a comedic scene about a hack writer seriouslyIs this that "media literacy" thing I keep being told that I lack?
>>744650280Low.
>>744661980nah sam has just always had a weird face
>>744648823why would you bring those up in the same context
>>744662365With those godly levels of ""media literacy"" of yours, you should apply for a job at remedy.
>>744658325I like how every time one of these is posted it is immediately followed up with the context that they're making fun of this shit.
>>744662982I mean, I'd love to. But Finland doesn't allow travel or especially migration from Russia at the moment.
>>744647113>Look it's Twin Peaks but quirkierNo wonder Samuel Puddle and Kojima are buttbuddies, same type of writer
Alan Wake 2 would've been better if they used the based Scratch.
>>744663042Was this also a joke on their website?
>>744663203Agree based Mr Scratch is based
kino song the airy guitars makes me wet
>>744663249They are constantly making fun of ESG and woke shit, but they sure like to boast about it to their shareholders. You're doing the "im just pretendig te be retarded" meme at this point.
>>744663249>twitter image name
>>744647113This segment comes way too early and nothing of this quality comes after, which comes off like they blew their entire budget on this stupid but still impressive musical number
>>744663752they had trouble making it in development because none of the devs except for sam thought it was a good idea
>>744663752>stupidyes>impressiveno>gayabsolutely
>>744663847I think the game needed like 4 or 5 of these preferably a couple with Saga, but we just get the one and then deep ocean summoning or whatever which is just a gay annoying wave shooter segment with 0 surrealism
>>744663974They treat it more like the typical oddball 5-minute segment, but yeah I think fully committing to the musical would've been really fun.
>>744649645It's just gonna be like the first one. A bunch of cool concepts with gameplay that gets old after five minutes.
>>744664468I remember replaying Control and thinking the game would've had a lot more potential if they just didn't give you so many powers. Once you can levitate then the level design just stops mattering at all.
Why didn't they just not make the game woke
>>744664747why dont you just accept black milfs exist
>>744647504fpbp
>>744647504That's why it's peak.
>>744647113Kojimbles added dance scenes to DS2 because of this game btw
>>744664979kojima cannot take a shit without copying someone else
alan wake? more like alan wokegotten
What does /v/ think of Mr Door?
>>744652616>in a finnish/scandi settingthe setting is american
>>744664468My issue with the first game was that the environments were so sterile and boring for the subject matter. It was just either gray brutalist offices, gray brutalist industrial areas, or gray brutalist floating cubes with cool shit very lightly sprinkled in.
>>744664815black milfs exist therefore lets turn most of the characters in media into one
>>744665210The first game was supposed to be open world, you would drive around Bright Springs there'd be a dynamic day and night cycle. They couldn't make it work so Alan Wake 1 was put together in 2 months using what they had and structured as a tv show instead
>>744665346Just an isolated incident>but what about all these others?Just a coincidence
>>744665391I meant Control 1, not Alan Wake.
>>744665180Will finally get to be the main villain of their QB reboot
>Saga's story>The world is crumbling around me, events I don't remember keep destroying my life and I seem to be powerless to stop them. I don't know if I'm losing my mind or if there are bigger events at play, but I must keep going to save my daughter's life. Also Max, dearest of all my friends, is tagging along but he lost his bullet time powers and thinks I'm crazy.>Alan's story>OMG I want to be Garth Merenghi but my writer's block won't let me abloo bloo blooWhy was Alan even in the game? It was a pretty good sleuth/survival horror without his shitty sections. I guess so they could still name it Alan Wake or something.
>>744665346show gameplay for white Saga then if it was such a grave injustice lol>There's no gameplay of her because she was only in Quantum Break for 20 secondsthen shut the fuck about small shit like that lmao
>>744665180Annoying, cringe homosexual in a brutally boring and pretentious corporate product.
>>744665346Top is Saga Andersson, bottom is Saga Anderson. Get it together.
>>744665512watWhy would Control take place in Bright Springs?
>>744665512ah nvm me i have dude weeded too much today
>>744666027Cause it's the same universe
>>744663203https://youtu.be/wLebVGLFVxk
>>744663752Dark ocean summoning was way better though especially since it's the best fight in the game. Herald of Darkness was the cool setpiece moment like in Control.
>>744647601I don't know what your problem is, but that shit wasn't amateur. The integration with real time graphics and presentation were spotless.
>>744666149This video needs a dead body while he's dancing and it would have been so kino
>>744649645We'll see, I wanted more Jessi adventures in the old house and the melee aspect kinda changes everything.
>>744665735
>>744654278t. moskal subhuman
>>744666157The gunplay in Alan wake is so bad I have to disagree
>>744661980No, it's PAYNE!
>>744647504FPBP. One of the wokest, shittiest games ever made. It was unbearably gay.
>>744662595Because that guy reminds me of the guy in the OP, and he likes to talk about Phantasy Star and Ys.
>>744647504>>744666692Dude is a legend, he managed to post a reply quicker than the bots.
I'm sure Lake was really proud of himself for the deus ex machina asspull in the final chapter but let me just say my charitability toward Alan Wake 2 went out the fucking window when the LIGHT BULLET materialized out of nowhere and it was all part of Alice's grand keikaku
>>744666646idk i liked using the glock in full auto mode
>>744647504Sam Lake buckbroke you faggots to the point that you will never recover.
I still remember the shill thread spam during the launch month of this game
>>744647113AW2 could have been one of my favourite horror games of all time if it didn't have some of the absolute worst pacing in the genre.
>Finlands most expensive product to make>Its KINOlessgo :DD
>>744662982>hu/hu
>>744647113never played this game but this song is pretty catchy. it really feels finnish somehow, even though the lyrics are in english and related to the game. it seems just like a cheesy rock and roll song for a game cutscene but it has a sort of mystical, dark vibe. i suppose that’s what they were going for.
>>744649645>>744650280I will only care about Control 2 if there's an out of place music number. Memes aside probably not Control is my least favourite Remedy game.
>>744667150Not wasting my money on dei slop. How will I ever recover.
>>744667182Most threads both pre and post release were literally undiscussable though, just nonstop talking about niggers.
>>744668039I don't mind Saga being black, In fact I wish Alan Wake 2 called attention to it and has to reconcile rewriting Saga as a person to fit his story. I do mind Sagas wishy washy British accent. She was born and raised in America to a second gen norse American and an American black guy with perfect English speaking uncles/granduncles and yet she pronounces her own last name (Anderson) as Awnduhsen. It'd particularly weird because Mccafrey Payne Casey addresses her almost exclusively as ANDERSON so right next to a lady saying her own name is a guy saying her last name in plain American English.
>>744666842>People discussing games are bots, the entire board is for the discussion of idpol garbageStop replying to yourself, it's embarrassing to watch.
>>744668039>just nonstop talking about niggers.I wouldn't go as far as calling the developers and their investors the N-word. Even if they push a really anti-consumer political agenda gamers unilaterally hate.
>>744668039Welcome to 4chan post 2015.
>>744665391With how fucking barren the plot of AW1 is, I can't imagine how they'd stretch it out into a full open world game.
>>744665180As unfortunate as Lance Reddick's passing was, I can't imagine him as Mr. Door as we see him through most of the game. Door's actor is really good.
>>744651773Thanks.
>>744668996Harewood is really good, and I'd dare say better than what Reddick could have done, buuuuuuut Harewood doesn't have that intensity Reddick has. In Quantum Break when Reddick was on screen he had such an intense presence. Consider that Reddick was able to elevate that dogshit Resident Evil show
>>744669274That's what I'm thinking as well. Reddick has done wackier characters before, but when he's intense he's really intense. It would've made the one on one he had with Alan at the end hit harder. At the same time I think Harewood nailed the talk show host persona exceptionally well to the point where I don't think Reddick could have done it better. It's really a half and half thing.
>>744668463>People discussing why they dislike the product are all the same person.
>>744669443100% agree. Harewoods "Don't mess with my daughter" confrontation was a bit lacking but all other parts were brilliant. If he's in control 2 I will eventually have to play it even if I'm not excited for Dylan getting his own game
>>744667150faggot doesn't even use his real name KWAB
>>744647504So just like the first one!The only good Remedy products are:-Max Payne-Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne
how is the actual gameplay in Alan Wake 2, is the shooting fun, are there any good puzzles or metroidvania style backtracking?
>>744669701Dylan being the protag is a little odd to me because he never struck me as the type to get that much focus. I always saw him being a villain more than anything. I guess with the Board being turned on by Jesse, it makes sense they'd just want to use him like The Hiss used him.
>>744671186>shootingWell the article isn't actually centered to where your bullets go, so there's that. Get used to missing enemies who are 5 feet away because there's some gay math going on that's measuring a lone between the character and their outstretched arm that roughly but not directly translates to the reticle
>>744671186It's more of an exploration game with puzzles and light action unlike the first game's full on action, yeah there's backtracking to new areas too. Though the puzzles are not particularly hard, feels like an open point & click. Lots of mixed opinions on the shooting, but apparently if you play on keyboard it's afwul so don't do that.
Favorite Poets song?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v7v8ZwWtNXY
>>744671512I wish they made more tacky 80s metal. Their real stuff just sounds like Stone Sour to me, which is fine, but I'm a sucker for their Remedy shit. Handily my favoritehttps://youtu.be/RCKDTAphHug?si=CWRudafvVitteSmj
So what are your favorite Poets of the Fall songs?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKk1u5RMTn4https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NfVGvY7p1sUhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=di7NMssrqsEhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ibv7yklrt7w
Does this board really need to be so relentlessly performative?
>>744671186The shooting is nice but for some fucking reason they screwed up the flashlight and now instead of just holding it down you briefly flash a guy and it consumes one block. What makes it shitty is that the time to strip shadow armor is pure rng.In general the combat is still shit because even on the hardest difficulty you're swamped with resources and will struggle keeping your inventory empty. The backtracking is mostly just unlocking boxes with an item you couldn't before. Saga's chapters have a gimmick where some sections are flooded so once you finish an area you immediately go back to it and visit the locked off area. The puzzles are timewasters rather than actually interesting imo
>>744672042This website has been relentlessly performative since 2016 at the least.
>>744669627In your case, yeah, it's pretty obvious. Try having a salad sometime.
>>744671046It's a writer thing, you wouldn't get it.
This whole sequence was omega cringe but I think that's why I liked it so much. Usually stuff that is cringe feels that way because it feels performative and fake, but they sincerely thought this was the coolest/goofiest shit they could add to this part of the game. Cringekino, one might say. Honestly the presentation of it all is so well done that even if it did just suck, it's very impressive. Remedy has very talented creatives
>>744671958https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6x3zl4y23I
>>744675027The smoke and mirrors that blend the IRL people into the scene was pretty cool, only a couple spots felt like I was watching an embedded video in my vidya
>>744667732for the brazilians
>>744666209It even had an extended guitar solo in case you sucked at the combat
>>744664747some ppl just cant resist making puns
>>744665180i didnt buy or play this game bc of negro lol
is this good? I don't wanna make an account at egs just for this, wish it was available on steam
>>744671958Diamonds for Tears will always be pvre lvdo.
>>744676609just pirate it, nigger? if you liked the first game you'll probably like this one. it's a pretty good re2r style psychological horror with a decent story
>>744671270Not a direction I was inspecting from Control 2, kinda reminds me Mass Effect situation, because, once the Hiss escapes the Oldest House isn't it basically a game over for humanity?
I wonder which ethnicity Alan will magically turn Saga into in AW3.
>>744647504Despite what everyone says you're right because it sold like shitREMEMBER MAX PAYNE LOL when he's literally shilling for trash like mixtape now. Sad.
>tfw no James McCaffrey
>>744658325I got news for you pal, minorities are still relatively weak and and capitalism isn't unassailable and not everyone lives in your echo chamber where saying what you consider 'bad words' means they are automatically against you. Defending a vulnerable group isn't an attack on yours.
>>744650310Yes and it's the canon ending.
