Level with me guys. I played Groove with my friends, played a few rounds of the wrestler race game, the virus pinching game, the onion hair plucking game and the dessert timing game. It's fun and pretty well made, despite the fact I couldn't quite tell if the input delay from the controller was fucking me up or not (I didn't calibrate the system and we were sitting at different distances). I am just not convinced this is a $50 game. Hell, I love Warioware games so so much, maybe the only franchise I'm willing to buy on release no questions asked, and those Switch titles also made me question if its a $50 value, but this? Not ragging on a collection of minigames but I'd pay maybe $30 for this at launch in 2026, but Nintendo doesn't do that pricepoint. Do you think there's more to the game than I am missing? I'd say the same with Tomodachi Life, but I haven't really played it and only watched multiple people play, so I have an idea but probably not a complete picture.

On top of that is the Rhythm Toys, Score Attack games, Credits minigame, and cast list minigame. There's even drum lessons, which are way to hard for me. It's a lot of content for $40 (not $50 as you stated in your post, but pretty close.) Rhythm Heaven doesn't really click with some people, but you shouldn't have to worry if you already like the multiplayer games.

I just finished Beatspell. Did not expect it to add 3 hours to my gameplay and to be so invested in it. They need to make it its own thing for real.
It's a great game but I feel like quite a few minigames don't integrate the cues well with the music. Like, some of them you can focus on the music and just react to the cue as it naturally fits in the phase, but others your better off ignoring the music for the most part and just internalizing the counts for the inputs. Other rhythm heavens had this issue, but to a much smaller extent.

Been playing the game the past few days. I still don't know where to put it in my tier list so I will wait until I clear all the content (on my way to Perfect all minigames). Starting with the bad, the art direction had deteriorated a bit, the human characters have been more misses than hits, the use of stock images is pretty bland aside from the Tea Chads and is worrying that the music haven't stuck to my head as much as I hoped. The good is that it has quantity, is challenging in a good way and I liked how the minigames uses the direction buttons/d-pad.
