Why does all the hero shooter clones have no equivalent of Spy? Theres always some Heavy class or Engie or Sniper but never a Spy
>>744648031what games have an equivalent to engineer?
because he's shit
we already had this thread yesterday tf2tard
>>744648167overwatch (torbjorn)deadlock (mcginnis)
>>744648167Literally every class shooter and MOBA has a turret guy
>>744648031The concept of a class whose main mode of killing is one-shotting people from behind their backs is very much not corporate friendlyThey don't want a character that might piss off normies or competitivefags by being "unfair"
>>744648193This.
>>744649358The spy is quite balanced because he loses in a fair fight almost every time unless you're some deadshot sweatlord with an ambassador (haven't played tf2 in like 12 years so its probably been nerfed)
>>744649638So? It's about the "experience", they don't want Mr.Normie or Narcissistic Streamer #202 to get angry because they were killed without fighting back.Same reason why most modern games don't really let you headshot people instantly with a snoipah like tf2 does.
>>744649826Stop creating imaginary scenarios and displaying them as factNo game has ever changed something because one single streamer whined about it
>>744649928Yeah well what's your reason then? Why is there no spy clone in all the other popular hero shooters?
>>744648031Tf2 is a class based shooter
>>744648167Heimerdinger from League of LegendsThe swedish dwarf from Overwatch
>>744649638It was nerfed but only at long ranges, it still deals 102s in spy's preferred fighting range which means if you were a good shot before you still are a pretty lethal threat.Dead ringer also got further nerfed for being annoying.
>>744648167mnc had techie and davenchipaladins had ruckus
>>744648031I love Spy and he's why I got into TF2 to begin with. I didn't think much of my skills for traditional shooting with KB+m and was enamored with his stealth instakill mechanics, at the time I was really into the CoD Black Ops instakill melee mechanics so it fit me perfectly. I play a lot of soldier lately and actually struggle to find times to play Spy in since I do try to be useful to my team and help win games, but I still love him. On that note, he absolutely is a supplementary class and requires a team to distract so he can function. A Spy can carry a team, but a Spy cannot thrive or even play without a team.
>>744649992Don't change the subject and answer my question
>>744650201you need like five asterisks in front of long range, the distance between any two of the starting spawn doors for Blue in Upward are all over 1000 Hammer units apart.
>>744650423I didn't say a single streamer, I said fans in general. That's how corporate development works, they go about avoiding shit people might complain about. That's why you get things like yellow paint, too.
>>744648031Valorant has like 3 different spy equivalents
>>744648031Because all the other games are actually assfaggots and not shooters.
Bump
>>744648031Spy is what will make Team Fortress 2 timeless
>>744648167OverwatchWildstarDeep Rock Galactic
>>744648031The simple answer is that TF 2 is not a 5v5 game like most hero shooters that offshot from it. A spy being able to instantly kill two players who were slightly inattentive on a 10-20or even 30 player team can be effective but wont swing the entire momentum around, if this happened constantly in the current hero shooter gameplay the entire game would fall apart.
