I don’t really get the appeal of physical media when companies can just lock your account anyway
>>744653928The transition to digital happened a long time ago, but the proles didn't realize it until they had their discs taken away. You've only been purchasing licenses to play a game since the Xbox One/PS4, but until recently, the license has been lenient enough to allow offline play, similar to playing games on steam in offline mode. This isn't going to be the case for much longer.
The only people still playing on consoles these days are normies and women who don’t actually like vidya. They don’t even know what any of this physical vs digital shit is. Anyone who actually likes vidya moved to PC years ago because it is just so far beyond any console it’s not even funny.

>>744655757New soup is unironically good though
>>744653928I'm 100% certain the appeal is to put a game case on a bookshelf and take pictures of it next to your funko pops and legos

>>744653928Not true with most PS5 games from my experience. But I only buy single player games so obviously they'll all work without accounts or internet access. I even have the PS4 version Transformers Devastations on disc and it still runs on my PS5 despite the hostile situation with the publisher. As a rule of thumb physical media will work forever offline if the game is fully on disc, and is not a multiplayer game in some way.
