Should I play Xenosaga if I liked Xenoblade's story but hated the gameplay?
I'm playing through them now and it's pretty sweet. Nobody told me this game was going to be so funny.More story heavy than XB, combat is more traditional JRPG fare like in Xenogears. Just enough layered in to keep things fun, helps that PS2 emulators have 2x fast forward to keep things moving in certain fights
Reminder the DS version has been translated
>>744654150Saga series' gameplay goes from passable, to TERRIBLE, to good, game to game. Xenogears where you would want to start if you liked Xbc1's story as it is effectively a reimagining of gears' plot, and gears is effectively part of the Saga continuity just under a different name
>>744654150Is there a remake or something coming out? XS1 has a lot of early-PS2 issues>super slow load times>super slow pacing>Janky EN dub only>unskippable, slow cutscenes that you have to rewatch when you die in ugly 2000s 3DCGAll this compounded by the fact it's the 1st part of a big story so nothing gets revealed or resolved within the game itself.>>744656982Or maybe play this if it's available
>>744654150Its nothing like Xenoblade. Do you like turn base jrpgs? Do you like space/mech anime from the early 2000's? Its pretty much that. Also grab and play the uncensored undub for all 3 games.
>>744654150the gameplay is terrible but it's definitely different from xenoblade
>>744654150only played Xenosaga 1 and thought it was trash, so never played part 2 and 3. The game's literally like 90% cut-scenes.
>>744657695First 2 you can easily fix with the fast forward button, third with undub (with a lot of classic, professional VAs you'll be treated to), fourth is just shit taste and you can skip all cutscenes in the pause menu anyway
>>744654150Huge Xenosaga Fan Excited to Play It For the First Time
>>744657962Happened to me with all those multipart RPGs that era. Xenosaga, .hack and Trails. DDS was alright it's just that I didn't keep up with game releases and kinda forgot about part 2.
