If you give halo 1 elites the same stats and damage output relative to halo 2, including your hit points, halo 2 elites kill you faster and more reliably. All of halo 2's ai are more tactical and more lethal. On heroic and legendary, they immediately rush you when they judge that you have taken cover. CE elites are a lot slower with those decisions and their movements are more bullet hell strafing than tactical. I suppose you prefer a gamey game so do I but halo 2 is a more tactical game with cover mechanics.
