Is this the best controller ever made? Or is there one that can contend with it?
From a value standpoint, yeah probably
>>744668087the only complaint i have is that R1 and L1 feel very "cheap" ,and the face buttons are not tight enough, but for 20€ i can't complain, the dpad is really good for retro games
Probably the best for the price.
i dont know bro 8bitdo and gamesaar controllers are so good i forget which one i'm using after 30 secondssomething i cant say about OEMs now put triple gyro in them you faggots
gamesir g7 or 8bitdo ultimate or 8bitdo sn30 if you just want to play gamessteam controller if you like to tinker
>>744668087Ps4 style controller
>>744668087This is the best d-pad out there right now, so if you need one of those, this thing (currently) can't be beat.
>>744668087It's pretty good so far but time will tell how long it lasts. In terms of how dirt cheap it is I'd say its high up there, also very comfortable to use.>>744668603For me it's the triggers, I'm a little concerned about the quality of the springs considering the triggers aren't hall-effects. Would have paid the extra 20 shekels for better triggers but I can't complain about the price so far.
I use it only for emulation and it does the job well
No the best controller ever made is the negcon.
i constantly switch between my switch 2 and PC so the 8bitdo pro 3 is pretty much a no-brainerit's also one of the only third party gamepads that has a wake up function for the switch 2
>>744668830So, peak layout?
>>744668087Without trackpads it's useless. Analogue sticks suck at the tasks they're normally given in videogames.
>>744668087the Cyclone 2 is my main. I actually prefer the symmetrical layout but the Transgendaria Lite is bigger than the DS4 and it feels like shit imo
>>744668087Is there a good third party controller like this that is PS4 compatible?
>>744669465sounds like you have tiny baby hands also skill issue
>>744668087Best controllers ever are as follows>OverallSteam Controller 2>TraditionalWii U Pro Controller>2D Sega Saturn 2D padHonorable mentions to the Dualshock 4 (battery too small, bad old usb connection), Dualsense (battery too small), and Steam Controller 1 (too niche) for being contenders
>>744669410Trackpads and gyro are garbage gimmicks>Analogue sticks suck at the tasks they're normally given in videogames. What
Are there ANY controllers with digital face buttons instead of the stupid rubber membrane ones? I'm sick of controllers I buy, even 8bitdo ultimate, wearing down and eventually double inputting for commonly used buttons like A or B
>>744668087>Is this the best controller ever made? No.>Or is there one that can contend with it?There are many.
In spite of its flaws, I like how the Gamecube controller has some insane longevity to it.
>>744669465i wanted to get that one but then i saw it has like 4h battery life, so fuck that
>>744668087Yes, it's the one I'm using after trying literally everything. For 20€ it absolutely takes a fat dump on the rest.
>>744668087I'm a big fan of my Xbox Elite 2 and Qanba Obsidian but those have to be good considering the price point. I did also really like my 8bitdo pro 2 when I used it on my switch, it and my Switch Pro controller were the things me and my friends used to play smash during the covid lockdown. I keep hearing good things about gamesirs so maybe I'll snag one eventually
>>7446696424 iq post here.
>>744669642140 iq post here.
>>744669642today i will remind them
>>744668087The best part about this shit is that it's wired. Any other good alternatives for wired controllers?
>>744671340>prove me wrongi can because it's all about the game you're playing. in cases where the instantaneous movement works better, like shooters or fighting games, yeah, keyboard inputs or shit like a hungrybox or whatever the fuck those were called work. in cases like platformers where more granular control over individual seconds of movement may require aerial tweaks to adjust for landings, momentum, better shifting of actions to not screw up jumps, an analog stick is king because a keyboard input is just too sharp and binary. you'd struggle more for precision in games that aren't the most precise.
>>744668087No. This is.
>>744668087The design for the heads of the analog sticks is wrong.
>>744672241not now but in the future when it's got actual software support and is easily attainable
>>744669642>Analogue sticks suck at the tasks they're normally given in videogames. >WhatMostly aiming/camera control. Sticks simply aren't a good input device for that kind of task. Trackpads, gyro and obviously mouse are. The ability to aim properly is not a gimmick.
>>744668087>gamesaar
>>744668087i want a controller with the weight and feel of a tendie pro controller but with an actual dpad like a snoycan it be done?
I liked the Gamecube controller, and I don't play Smash so I don't have some attachment to it like Melee players do.
>>744668087I like the Xbox 360 controller. It's more comfortable to hold with the bigger size.
>>744672673It already has proper software support, about as good as it'll realistically ever get. I doubt any 3rd party tool will ever get close to Steam input. The availability sucks though I agree.
>>744672812and its symbol is literally a cock
>>744668087it's a good enough controller with snappy response times>>744671340you compensate with more granular movements and higher precision. hall effect analogs with much smaller deadzones help
>>744673141It's a rooster tho.
>>744668087Not the best, but at the price point, the quality it offers is insane. It mogs official controllers
>>744671340Try playing super monkey ball with a keyboard and let me know how that goes
>>744668087>>744669087These two are great for their price points. Anything above that and you just might as well get first party stuff.
>>744668087SAAR
>>744668087swap out the retarded default dpad with the cross one that comes with the controller and you have my main. analog triggers, more like ANALog triggers amirite
>>744675273First party controllers don't have hall effect or TMR sticks, unfortunately.
>>744672241controller for cattles
>>744668087How to immediately ruin a controller and put it into shit tier forever with one simple trick:
>>744676726The tegenaria is wired only.
>>744668087>wirednah
>>744677179NTA but I love wired controllers so it's a yah for me.
I have zero experience with third party controllers. Does anyone make an Xbox One style controller but with a better d-pad and TMR sticks? Ideally using the OEM USB receiver and keeping the audio jack.
>>744679328GameSir G7 Pro
>>744676726?? where should the charging port be then?
>>744668087when are they going to release a wireless one?
>>744679328Gamesaar G7 Pro is prolly what you're looking for, I personally have SE but they're pretty fucking solid like a brick.
>>744679526Gamesir sells like 10 different wireless controllers already
>>744672679Camera control with sticks is fine.
>>744679593yeah i want this same exact layout and design but wireless.they said they'd make one like 7 months ago, any news?
>>744679393>>744679591How is the circular d-pad? I still have my old Xbox One pad and the newer Series pad and I kinda prefer the + styled one over the newer design.
>>744679841Pretty sure you can switch out the d-pad on the G7 Pro but I'm not 100% sure.
>>744679841you can change from circuital to normal dpad if you want, i prefer circular for fighting games and normal for platformers
>>744668087honestly, the xbox 360 controller is perfectmine is just now starting to crap out, after heavy use for 10 years. every time i go to the goodwill i look for one.
>>744679837
>>744680012>>744680025Neat, thanks anons. I'm thinking of replaying Catherine and I remember that it needed a good d-pad, played it on PS3 back in the day. Not that I need an entire new gamepad just for one game of course, but I wouldn't mind upgrading. I see that it's 95 EUR on Amazon, does it go on sale often?
>>744680130oh nice. it's a shame that it's $50 more expensive than the wired version. and sold out.
>>744680306lurk on Aliexpress, with some deal and coupons you can get it for like 75
>>744680306Dunno about any recent discounts but there'll prolly be one during black friday in 2 months.
>>744680517dont be a retard anon and use fucking google, its on Ali and its 45€ with the coupon https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005009123054814.html
>>744680564I'm kind of hesitant to buy it from AliExpress, I've seen so many fake peripherals, not just gamepads but even Logitech mice.Like the other anon said let's see what sort of deals they'll do on Black Friday. >>744680619>black friday in 2 months.Jesus Christ when did 2/3 of the year go by?
>>744668087You posted the wrong version>90s inspired color scheme with light grey front and dark grey back face and buttons>more comfortable dualshock layout instead of xbox layout>hall effect sticks to stop stick drift>wired (thank fuck)>$20Hard to beat that, honestly. I just ordered one a few days ago and waiting on it to arrive.
>>744679469Wired > Wireless Charging ports are inherently designed to make your controller less durable and retarded.
>>744668087Yes sir, you are to use the Gamesir on the game, sir. Thank you sir
>>744680936You know that GameSir is Chinese and that their primary store is Aliexpress right?
>>744680936Yeah it's fucked, started noticing this since 2019 and time keeps going by faster each year.>>744681054That's the version I got and it's solid, only wish the triggers were also HE.
>>744680936you are retarded,Ali is a legit website and i just looked and you can get it for 74 because its has some kind of deal going on if you use the codehttps://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005007758328673.html
>>744681310>>744681427>Just trust Game Spot Store (Trader) broYes I know GameSir is a Chinese company, but AliExpress is full of so many "official" stores you have no way to know what you're gonna get, not to mention I can't exactly RMA it if necessary.
>>744681661i used Ali like 100 times in the past 7 years and never got scammed, i even got a phone and CPU from therebut i dont care its your money, buy it on Amazon
>>744670173I know it's a npc answer at this point, but this fucking controller has no business of being this goodback in the day for that price, the best thing you could get was a plasticky piece of shit smelling like hot chinese glue with buttons looser than a pornstar vulva and a texture feel like touching a cat's scrotum
I like this one. The dock alone makes it worth it. Connects instantly when undocked, disconnects when docked/charging.
8bitdo and gamesir are literally better than any OEM controllerthose jews dont even have hall effect stick on their 70€ gamepads, and nintendo is asking 100€ for their plastic "pro" controller that is build like pure dogshit
>>744681989ment the g7, logitech F310 is... AAAAAASSSSSSSSSSS
>>744676785No, your favorite controller was not as good.
>>744668087Bought this controller a few months ago because my last one was dying. For the price I got it it's been functioning just fine. Had to get used to the feel of the sticks and buttons, but it's held up so far. If it lasts another 2 months it'll have outlasted the absolutely dogshit dual shock 4 controller I had a few years ago and for half the price.
>>744682160>those jews dont even have hall effect stick on their 70€ gamepadsEven the "new" 25th xbox anniversary controller is literally just overpriced junk with shitty potentiometers that will stick drift after a month of use.
>>744682483yeah, only a retard would buy a Sony or XBOX controllerand Nintenod doesn't even make controllers anymore, they make toys
>>744682483After the last 3 controllers I bought that were officially licensed drifted after less than a couple months I'm finally getting one with HE so I don't have to keep wasting my goybucks on subpar controllers
>>744668087Is it that good ? Because I love the PS4 controller but thate the micro USB plug and the wire keeps disconnecting when charging.
>>744668264>From a value standpoint, yeah probablyNah, PDP was higher quality and better value. Also the name "Gamesir" sounds like its straight out of India
>>744671340
>>744680130genuinely what does this controller offer that makes it $50 more than the wired one?
>>744681054Back when I got mine I tried as much as possible to get the gray version because of how good it looks, but it was more expensive on every store I found on Aliexpress so I got the white oneAt least it's so good that I'll probably get the gray one somewhere in the future too
>>744684219its wireless and has TMR sticks and hall effect triggers and mechanical buttons
>>744681167I used to be like you, but I prefer to buy two wireless controllers I really like and swap them out when one is empty and the other is full.
>>744668087gameSAAAAAAAAAR
>>744669640Despite all its shortfalls, DS4 remains my favorite. I wish they'd do a revision of that with a proper battery, 2.4ghz connection, and usb-c.
>>744681989I had the version with square gates. It was serviceable, but nothing special. I stopped using it as soon as I was able to use my DS3 on Windows (using a program that very well may have been malware). I don't even recall getting rid of it, it sort of just disappeared from neglect.
I have a razer wolverine 8k and sometimes I can feel the shells moving, pisses me off. Only good thing those fags make anymore is the v4 mouse
Reminder not to let you controllers' joysticks gather dust. Put them in a shoe box or something
>>744684715It's Chinese, retard
>>744685906nigga dey all chinese
>>744685906I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that rebranding to the most stereotypically Chinese sounding name would probably be better for them than sticking with GameSaar.
>>744685982
>>744686227I actually like China and they make decent products, so yeah I agree
>>744686373Gamesir should make a vesion of this controller for PC.>>744686227Nah they should double down and make their logo an indian.
>>744686373>Uh u want takeout or derivaree?
>>744685758does baby oil hurt controllers? i usually play games after a goon session and im too lazy to wash my hands
>>744684692The problem is more that the ports are rated for a certain amount of insertions and tend to break down after a long enough time scale. Even if you swap them while they're charging like that they'll still eventually break.
meh, I need my controllers wireless
>>744688250>USB-C are rated for 5000 insertions>Roughly 13 years if you were to charge it every single dayComplete non issue.
>>744676360sar the cow is holy
>>744688250it takes D-tier soldering skills to replace that port
>>744672241name 3 games that would use 2 trackpads
What makes a good dpad? I've been using analogue sticks for so many years now that when I go back to an old game and try using the dpad I'm handicapped. It feels like you need to move so much more and faster to get the inputs you want while the stick is just a natural swish of your thumb. It's also harder to do diagonals or at least slower. Did the SNES have a good dpad or did we just not know any better?
>>744689096>>744688250or you buy a $5 magnetic cable that solves all your problems?
>>744668087that one is quite good. Also PowerA Wired Controller for Xbox Series X|S, this is another one. Third party controllers have improved dramatically in recent times
>>744682019I've had this for many years but my biggest gripe is the membrane buttons and it has issues with 3.0 usbs (random disconnects). Maybe mine's just finally showing its wear
>>744668087>hello gameSaaaaar
I have a wireless 8bitdo pro and I like it a lot. No complaints after about a year of use.
>>744689170Red pill me on those. NTA but I thought about buying those for my stuff. Surely there's a catch if no one I know uses them.
i switch between these two depending on if I'm playing a DPad game or a Stick game.
>>744690342which one for the dpad? also which games?
>>744690092you stick the magnetic usbc into your controller and never have to plug it out again, its self explanatory
>>744690462isnt it obvious? did you ever used a fucking dpad on a xbox layout controller to play games?
Picked this up lately and I like it
>>744668087Nope, this is.
>>744672241>doesnt have a switch at the back to change it to x-input its dead on arrival valve are retards
>>744690484Yeah thanks for the explanation, retard. I was talking about the practical experience with it. Does it have good connection?A lot of wear and tear?Does it deliver the watt it advertised?Does it get hotter than a normal cable? These things.
>>744686373>DEY ALL CHINESE
>>744668087I can't call something without ergonomic grips the best
gamexir cons look so ass. it's like those old MadCatz shit. it's like they built the aesthetic to look as shitty as possible. if a controller could scare the hoes it's a gamexir onemeanwhile all the honeys are crowding around the 8bitdo ultimate as he tries to get out of his limousine
>>744691698ask grok
>>744672241
>>744668087the face buttons are too far apart imo
