>Bethesda never made as good a final mission again as raiding the Ghostgate, killing all of Dagoth Ur's lieutenants, gathering Sunder and Keening and destroying AkulakhanHow? Morrowind was Bethesda at its lowest, the company was fucked and about to close down. Oblivion's Paradise was drab after the first ten minutes. Sovngarde was better, with some choices affecting who you meet in the afterlife and getting the heroes of old to assist you in Shouting at Alduin, but he was too easy a final boss (I guess technically Dagoth is even easier because you just hit the Heart a couple times but the preparation across the other Citadels is what makes it work).

i mean, there's barely a handful of ACTUAL QUESTS in morrowind, everything else is a banal fetch 'quest', which makes sense as it was meant to be an MMO
