They already sell a proprietary platform with a closed, proprietary OS and a proprietary marketplace. Having just a "launcher" would actually be a pro-consumer move at this point.

IF Nintendo EVER releases their games on PC it would be on their own VERY restrictive launcher and I can definitely see them having near-zero options to configure graphics. There would be no incentive for them to provide a better experience than playing on their own hardware.

It would be unwise to think Nintendo would release anything but a DRM-heavy launcher, however it is also more likely that Nintendo is going to sell the switch 2 for a very, very, VERY long time, arguably longer than the switch 1 with maybe one or two modifications down the line like maybe joycons that can make it so you can play your switch with the screen turned 90° to allow for Nintendo DS and 3DS games to be in the NSO when the time comes.

Would mention mobile games but i think Nintendo's not too keen on that shit unless its pokemon since other shit they published for phones is getting EoS'd like mario kart tour.
