Thoughts on their games?

Ys games are great fun.
>>
Early Ys, Zwei, Xanadu Next and Gurumin are all apex kino and I'll forever rue the day they became Trailshit: The Company.

The last hope for JRPG's.

As a non fan I get the impression that they don't really do anything good anymore. Latest Ys and Trails not being as great as they used to be and the tits remake being a remake.

Tits remake is the tits, tho

Interesting, but not concerning.

I like it. But it's not really a testament to falcom being able to do new things, it's going back to their past glories.

Legit never heard of them
>>

Legit the last decent developer that stuck to their formula for their respective titles making minor gameplay changes until trails of cold steel came out
now they're trying to fit every trope , dopamine rush, cliche for their new games
>>
there's way too much filler and inane dialogue. worth it for the kino battle animations I suppose

I like Trails but at the same time I find it exhausting because after playing so many games with the same general formula. It's become incredibly noticeable how padded out the later games are. Trails in the Sky remake really highlighted how fucking pointlessly long the newer games like Horizon are. Horizon felt extra long because of pointlessly added side quests, another virtual world to grind in, and a split route system where you're jumping between different parties.

In comparison, Trails in the Sky's progression feels so smooth and well designed that it feels like Falcom got worse over time at making an engaging adventure for the player to go through.

All their talent left and formed a much better studio (pic related).
Falcom's best games are ones no one talks about.
Zwei, Gurumin, Popful Mail.

>how padded out the later games are.
The localization doesn't help.
They added in 50 times more text in the english versions.

*People like this.
They call it """world building""".

Absolute fucking galaxy brained mongoloids.
>>
Solid games but lots of missed potential. Feel like they could be way better than they are. Solid 7/10 dev
>>
>>744701720
Even if the last two Ys have not been as good as VIII, they're still pretty fun.
>>
>>744700742
I like them. They make good games.

Popful Mail (Sega CD) wasn't even developed by Falcom, the Falcom version is shit compared to it.
Original Zwei fucking sucks. The gameplay is braindead simple.
Gurumin is fine but doesn't reach the gameplay goodness of the top tier Falcom games.

Oh thanks, you just reminded me to download the English patched version of Brightis
To the fags that wouldn't upload the game in the thread last week, it's just on Internet Archive now
