Why was his fartcore so highly acclaimed
Just listen to the replacement and you'll understand
>>744702503id said no guitars and he did it anyway.
>>744702503It wasn't all mallcore, he did pretty good soundtracks for other games like Prey.
>>744702503Judging by his shirt and that awful facial hair, he looks like an "industrial metal" dude.My sisters ex fiance looks exactly like him, he was into shitty industrial metal. And he was a meth head.
>>744704229You should kill yourself for saying "mallcore" in 2026.
everybody remembers rip & tear and forgets the other shit that didnt work
>>744702503it was pretty good and set the tone of the game right away. The real question is what was up with the assfuckery that ultimately led to him being replaced? Kinda strange to mess with him like that when pretty much every mention of 2016 was talking about the soundtrack. Even if they wanted to replace him for whatever retarded reason they should've just done it straight up instead of the gay ass backstabbing.
>>744705184I still don't know what the actual story is with that. id gets rid of him, he says it's for one reason, they say nuh uh, then he says nuh uh.What was the truth?
>>744705184he struggled to deliver to deadlinesquestionable work ethics from both partieshe was becoming more popular and influencial than the developers so id no likey (remember doom 2016 he was instructed to not do metal, then subsequently proved them wrong in front of the whole internet)dude is an unpredictable internet diva, even if subjectively talented, I get why companies wouldn't want to hire him again
>>744705262He was given a relatively tight deadline of two tracks a month with 0 direction or even indication of what the levels would be like, and then they'd throw it all out when it didn't match what they ended up having. and they kept cutting him from meetings about the music, basically never responded to emails, and didn't pay him with the largest gap between checks being 11 months. And even though the excuse was that they weren't going to pay for music they rejected, they were using it all anyway. Also they contracted with him to make the OST and then got some idiot in house with garage band to make edits instead.Once people noticed the fuckery marty stratton ran to plebbit to blame mick first rather than try to fix anything. And after that they offered him a six figure settlement to take the blame for all of it.I think he was probably a little slower than they would've liked but given the dev pipeline they set up it was always going to be messed up because they were changing levels right up to the deadlines. And all the payment fuckery while still using the work really soured my opinion of stratton.
>>744706189So higher ups at id clearly didn't like him for some reason and came up with a very convoluted way to not work with him anymore. Very gay.
>>744702503Retards with bad music taste will say anything is good if enough other people also say it's good.Hulshult mogs even if dark ages fucking suckshttps://youtu.be/q657rEkgfKs?si=l37o7YmWzmO7WaeMMeanwhile in the fart kingdomhttps://youtu.be/Lp-TdtDYGAA?si=5dmevyInU9YE43Jd
The whole Mick vs Marty Stratton thing is probably the craziest thing in video game industry. It reads like a script for a psychological horror movie where Marty is a demon who torments Mick for fun. It's also funny that NO ONE ever said anything to disprove Mick's side of the story, Bethesda just went>DOOOOOOOOD IT'S TOTALLY UNTRUE AND WE CAN PROVE IT..... we won't tho
>>744702503>Why was his fartcore so highly acclaimedbaby's first rock album, don't forget people like slipknot/limp biskit
>>744702702It was the publisher who wanted no metal, not id
>>744709325Limp Bizkit is awesome though
>>744706418>first is just a straight up "I just played this song", absolutely no variationthis is the kind of person that gets replaced by AI>second is an actual reimagining that fits the new game, but instantly recognizable as a tribute to the originalActual creativity
>>744706418I'll take Mick's babby's first djent than that awful buttmetal rendition
>>744702503I frankly never got into the nu-doom music a whole lot, but I always really enjoyed the 2013 Killer Instinct OST.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ckR822Wu4k
>>744710196i couldnt appreciate the soundtrack until i saw the behind the scenes. wouldve much preferred the ip to have stayed dead regardless
>>744702503Zoomers and redditors never heard actual metal before so they though Zoom and his dogshit farts were the most metal thing ever. I pity those fools.
>>744709325Iowa is a legitimately good album and I won't hear otherwise.
>>744709424>hightest demonslaying game>no metalonly normie retards would put such a requirement
