That's not what an SMS or 7800 controller looks like.
>>
>>744702575
>first party slop
This isn't the early 2000s, first party controllers are riddled with severe quality issues and shouldn't be considered unless there's literally no way to use a 3rd party.
>>
>>744704030
I think these are the pal controllers
>>
>>744703654
I bought one last year and haven't used it since the buttons sound like mouse clicks.
There are such buttons without the click sounds, why not use those...

>>744703714
It's pretty funny
>>
>>744702575
Wow, Steam managed to make a controller even more obese than the original Xbox controller. A remarkable achievement.

>>744702575
crazy how sega made purely dogshit controllers except the saturn 2, which is now considered the standard design for fighting game pads kinda like how the 360 pad is the modern generic controller
like holy fuck you can kill somebody with the dreamcast one

They're modded nes controllers, SMS pads are rectangular but have geometric details and non-square d-pads. Some have little sockets for sticks for a thumb grip in the d-pad.

Recently bought a saturn. I'm going to try some 3d games

Gotcha.
Is nights into dreams actually good? Or quake?
>>
>>744704918
Fair.
I didn't make this but maybe OP thought it was a some pal controller
>>
>>744704762
nice, enjoy
burning rangers, bulk slash, and shining force 3 are my favorite games on the system
>>
>>744705019
Ill check them out. Is the saturn easy to mod for burned discs or should I just get some second hand games
>>
holy fuck this image made me realize that the PS5 is 5 years old and has like one game worth playing what the fuck is wrong with this industry
>>

Play the switch

Nights is great but it's a scoring game, it'll take time for you to appreciate it. Nice visuals and music at least.

Quake is very interesting because it's based on Powerslave, but has poor performance. Interesting secret levels and some references to ancient quake webcomics from the 90s. Duke 3D is better overall but if you're a fan of either check the Saturn version out.

Night Strikers S makes good use of the 3D pad, I also like Necronomicon's use of the triggers.

>>744705105
You can burn discs with a psuedo saturn cart or try one of the odes like fenrir, saroo, satiator, etc. saroo is really cheap if you want something to play around with that supports a lot of stuff.
>>
>>744704959
nights has a bit of a learning curve but is really fun once you get into it, unless you wanna get the analog controller though just play the steam version bc it does feel significantly worse with a dpad, 360 degree movement is actually important
its the only saturn game that you really need that for though
quake on saturn is a solid port afaik, im not an expert but it played good when i tried it
>>744705105
a boot cartridge can play any burned disc you make, it's extremely easy and a way better option then spending hundreds of dollars on the good games, theres a lot of great fan translations to play as well

Thanks Anons.
I want to try a lot of retro games so this really helps
I will tho buy a 3D controller

Xbox One has the best. Bought mine many years ago and still use it. Great button layout, ergonomic, great feel, and native PC compatibility for PC games and emulators.
