Horde is weighed down by a crappy perk card system. Genuinely ass game.5 is better in that it has real design again and a few cool new weapons but it constsntly interrupts it with empty open world bits. I mean literally empty, in one of them one player drives a skidoo and the other sits on the back and you get to sit there for 10+ minutes at a time driving between objectives with absolutely no enemies between them. There's two chapters out of five dedicated to that shit. Kait's story stuff is abomimable too, which detracts from the otherwise fun enough linear parts. Nowhere as well designed as the 360 games but servicable corridor shooter content. Horde is extremely fun, Escape is neat but very half-baked. It bombed real bad so it goes on sale for $5 or less pretty often on Steam which is about what it's worth.Tactics is the real winner. Ironically the turn based XCOM game is the closest the new games get to the design and feeling as frantic as the trilogy, but it was also primarilly developed by Splash Damage instead of the Coalition. If they're lying about that, what are the odds it'll run properly and will be well made?

The decision to not put this on PS was astronomically stupid. They’re acting like they still have a chance at competing in the console market. They don’t. Gears isn’t a system seller and hasn’t been for a whole. They should just go full publisher mode already and kill the Xbox brand. The series X sold like shit. PC never has many players. This game is not going to last long or have a strong player base. We could have benefitted from having PS alongside us but instead MS is choosing to screw the game over on a gamble.
