Better (Worse). It's a complete and total rebalancing of classes, abilities, equipment, the availability and combination of all three, enemies, and to a small extent, tribes themselves. Trying to brute force your way through the game by only doing big damage will actually lead to things being a pain in the ass, so you have to use things like debuffs, stealing, and ESPECIALLY ailments, all for more than just fucking around. You even have to consider what specific types of equipment you want characters to be using, since some can have different stat bonuses and/or resistances that can be better than just focusing on the highest attack and/or defense boost, The fact that you can actually have a magic-centric bangaa and a physical-centric nu mou both be viable compared to vanilla should say alot. The fact that each job gets four weapon types to pick from opens up a lot of customization and versatility for the player, but also danger from enemies who can use similar tactics against you.

To clarify, it can indeed get harder, but as long as you consider that you can prepare to deal with threats even through simple solutions, you can flip the chessboard in fun ways. I was recently getting pissed off by a enemy white mage and an enemy archer with sub-job white magic reviving many of their allies, and they even revived each other when one of them died. However, the easiest solution to this that I realized right after winning the hard way was literally in one of the first possible abilities you get: the soldier's provoke to inflict berserk on the mage and archer. No more white magic means no more revival. There's other ways to handle this as well, such as aim:arms, silence, etc. but since this hack uses an FFT "spend JP to buy abilities" (Job Points, not Judge Points, since Judge Points do nothing in this hack) system. Keep in mind all this happened before I even met Ritz and Shara, that's how early the CPU enemy variety advances in this hack.

Cool, I've looked into FFTA hacks before but there was never anything interesting
