Every single new release being Limited is retarded, and another reason to hate chink gachas, alongside dogshit SSR rates outside of 50/50. But... honestly, the whole pity system is only as bad as the free monthly gibs are. If you had enough to guarantee every character+weapon for free, leaving only the uncaps for the whales, you probably wouldn't complain about it.
>>
>>744723616

>>
>>744725421
it's not about having enough for all the characters (tho I would love fairer change than whatever percentage there is right now), it's just that with that system I can't build a new team until the 1 to 3 characters I want that are not in the standard banner have a rerun. It's so annoying especially in an action game where the fun is linked to the characters you play

Mihoyo is hilariously shitty when it comes to their gacha; you either pull during their banner or not at all because EVERYONE is fucking limited, if you miss their banner they might be powercrept by the time they show up again, and sometimes characters will only be decent if you have other prerequisite characters or weapons - if you're missing characters to make the one you actually wanted work well tough shit I guess. Recent example of that last point is Remielle, she wants a full anomaly setup but all anomaly agents are limited S-ranks, save for Piper, yeah I know Jane's available for free as well but her and Piper are a weird combination since they both want field-time.
There's also the constellation/mindscape/whatever shit that tries to tempt you into pulling characters multiple times.
>>
>>744724670
she's still pretty usable by now.
>>
>>744725421
It funny now that ZZZ (don't know about Genshin) is that it lays it out all the table how much polys you have to earn and it's all chump changed compared to how much you realistically need for just a character. It takes 76 rolls to finally escape 0.8% hell with 78-82 being standard. Some times you strike gold early but it can also be a bad thing making you turn to the weapon banner only to go to max pity and lose the 75/25.

her actual main problem is that she needs only Velina and another random anomaly option so if anyone missed her, Remielle is completely useless.

>i'm assuming the nangong rerun is next week

>>744726127
>it's all chump changed compared to how much you realistically need for just a character.
No? I didn't do the math, but I've been playing since the beta, and from my experience it feels like you get enough free rolls to guarantee you one of each pair of characters per patch or so. Give or take the w-engine for those agents you want or can't cope with a generic ball.
>>
>>744726252
nangong's rerun should be next patch, the rescreen banner has yuzu, dialyn and a third character that shall not be named
>>
>>744726307
You need some keen foresight or pay close attention to test servers to know that if you want Remi you are going to need a character released a month before her.
ZZZ is not the worst gacha in regards to this however. That goes to Wuthering Waves. There are characters that are completely useless, totally worthless, unless you have their two limited SSR paired with them. The only advantage WuWa has is that it does reruns quicker.
>>
>>744725268
>>744726020
What gachas do you play exactly that you think this is any different? Because for the most part gachas only have limited banners that never get rerun and then a completely 100% useless Standard banner that gives you characters that were only usable at launch with maybe a free 10 pull banner that gives you unusable 3* and 4* characters with the aforementioned standard banner characters that aren't usable. The only difference I've ever seen is that in those gachas they usually have like seven banners running at the same time and power creep so hard that anything you pull that isn't the latest release is basically pissing your pulls away and it's not possible as a F2P to realistically play them.

The Genshin model forces 4*s to be usable because of how much time and effort they put into them even if they're not the best option, and in both ZZZ and Genshin's case they've added actual limited characters to the standard banner while also making standard characters worth using at all.

Very rarely will you get a gacha like The Battle Cats where you get banners that just rate up one specific thing and otherwise the only banner has every single limited character but unless you literally track your seed's pulls you are at the mercy of the game to have a usable team at all that likely can't clear anything even in midgame because you did get Kasa Jizo.

Who are you saving all your polychromes for, 2 year after launch? It's not like Limited = paid. You have a resource of free rolls to work with.
Personally, my roster is mostly Anomaly agents (because they're the hottest), so I've been suffering throughout Season 2, where every boss featured anti-Miyabi protection to shill the new Rupture class.

No lies detected, however that's the gacha model, it rewards "consistency" aka being chained to the daily system through daily logins.
The only reason for playing these types of games is if you like the characters or find the story/gameplay entertaining. Wanting to keep up with the Joneses aka the whales and metafagging is a quick way to burn out and start hating the game. It's a genre which subsidizes entertainment for the poor players with the wealth of the rich players, and they get the best experience because they shell out 100$+ every patch.
Yes, the gacha system is meant to keep you playing so you don't miss out on the characters, but if you're not greedy or stupid you can get away with very small, mmo tier expenses monthly. The only real thing you're wasting is arguably your time which is the most important, but even then, compared to other genres, which are increasingly tuned to take up more of your storage capacity(600gigs of CoD), or free time(mmorpgs, soulslikes, survival crafting, etc), gacha takes the least amount due to how it's built from the ground up to suck money out of you, so if you're not a stupid animal with more money than sense, your daily playtime is limited.

It's a weird genre and it hasn't reached maturity yet. I foresee a change in the 50/50 system and banner system simply because of burnout in the gacha audience and mainly due to increased competition from other gacha games. It will become more pro-consumer in a few years but right now it's predatory(looking at other genres i'm beginning to think that gacha stands out for its monetization but other games are predatory with your time which is way more limited than your money ever will be)

>I am struggling to find a gacha with a similar retardation.
Pretty much every single Squeenix one is like this.
Yakuza Online has five banners running at the same time and doesn't rerun cards at all once they become powercrept nor do they enter the standard banner.
Almost all Bamco gachas do the same thing with them never running anything after their initial limited banner because they immediately get powercrept.
I gave you The Battle Cats as an example where everything goes into the limited banner with no rate up but unless you are seed tracking there is zero way to actually get some reliably meta like Kasa Jizo.

Also keep in mind that non-Genshin systems power creep into insanity and anything past the initial first 2-ish months of the launch of a limited banner is the only time that character is usable at which point they can't be used in any content because of the power creep. Yakuza Online's entire free pull, standard, and half the limited banners they provide are not usable in anything but the easiest story content in the game. In KHUX if you didn't have meta medals you couldn't even do the main story that's how power crept it was.

I mean, she's still Yu, Nangong Yu. But yeah, I agree, it sounds ugly, so I shorten it to just Yu as well.

That said, JP version shouldn't be your standard in this particular case, since the game is originally Chinese, and the JP version is heavily "localized". They call Anton "Andou", and Belobog became "White Bear construction" or some shit. For ZZZ it's best to stick to treat the EN script as canon, or at least much closer to it compared to JP.

>Maybe priconne, ba and trickcal spoiled me with their gacha
They did, because any generous gacha is not a normal gacha. A normal gacha powercreeps, makes any pulls useless after a few months so that you constantly have to keep up a rolling set of meta characters or you can't even do basic events and story, only provides free players enough pulls to get maybe one character every 2-3 months which will be immediately powercrept, never or extremely rarely reruns anything at all, and gives you the illusion of kindness with daily 10 pulls in some useless banner or a free pull on some useless banner that has some meta character from a year ago that isn't in usable in anything but the content you use to grind materials.
>they did not turned my boy Kiryu into a gacha did they?
Years ago. It was announced with 7. The April Fool's video was an advertisement for it and where Ichiban first appeared. Akiyama is part of Ichiban's party and Sawashiro is the final boss of the story they never finished while Ryuji got his own Gaiden in it (Non-canon) where he meets Ichiban and Han.

It's also extremely money-hungry and time consuming. I had to tap out from how all my cards kept getting powercrept, how event equips (The best ones) were whale-territory so you as a F2P couldn't get more than one copy due to rewards being from leaderboards only whales could stay on, you had to do PVP and guild battles to get paid currency at all AND do well on them so haha screw you, and after the third anniversary they stopped animating the cards and even repeating the same card art just with a new outfit and calling it a new rarity. They even made a new rarity (KSR) a few years back where it allowed you to use the SSR cards (Original highest rarity) as "equips" to justify their powercrept asses but they only wanted the meta cards of those SSRs so you basically couldn't use them at all as a F2P either.

>>744727715
JP is also clearly not their focus in it unlike something like Genshin which has events based on Japanese VAs and constantly makes Japanese entertainment references because everything in ZZZ is Chinese. The signs, the aesthetic, many of the characters, etc. I started in JP thinking it was gonna be like Genshin and almost immediately switched to CN, I cannot imagine playing this game in JP whatsoever, especially when every sign is in Chinese. Even when the UI errors out it defaults to Chinese whereas Genshin defaults to their fake language.
>>
>>744727526
RGG Online has existed since 2018. It started as Ichiban's story, but when Yakuza 7 came out it had an entirely different story, so its basically a non-canon alternative universe story. Kircubbin has many variants in that game as does just about everyone else.
I actually think they handled Ichiban as a character better in RGG Online because its Ichiban without any dragon quest autism. He's a lot more serious and there's this one cutscene where he teaches the main female character not to wish for someone's death by beating someone almost to death right in front of her

>>
>>744728173
I dislike Chinese as a spoken language but in both ZZZ and WuWa I use it because for what I am seeing, playing, and experiencing nothing else makes sense to use. EN by default is a no so that leaves JP and CN, and in this case JP makes no sense.

Jane got a slight power up this patch, Remille wants to hog all the Anomaly, and she's one of the hottest characters in the game. But she's old. She's a Season 1 agent. An early Season 1 agent.
Lucia remains the only S-rank Rupture support, and the panda fucking sucks. But Rupture is facing the risk of getting no content in the face of Anomaly revival, and the introduction of a another fucking new Armorer class next patch.

Not ZZZ. Every single sign you see is in Chinese. All of them. There is not a lick of Japanese in any of them. The Starlight Knights are basically knockoff CN tokusatsu heroes, not JP Local Heroes. Miyabi is like the closest Japanese-looking thing in it. I guess you could argue Sixth Street is more like Shibuya (Which it is), but that's roughly it before it feels like Chinese skate parks.

>>744728483
>you mean because of the china zones, right?
No, I mean because all of it. The aesthetics, the character designs, the enemy designs, the world designs, the heavy focus on cultivation with Rover constantly powering up in every new region, literal dialogue talking about cultivation particularly now in Mengzhou, etc. Honami is like the closest it ever came to JP-esque and it feels like Taiwan, not Japan.

THIS!!!
>>
>>744729052
Animation style is western. Everyone in cutscenes move like they're in a Hannah Barbara cartoon while in combat there's no distinct style from any region because sometimes it feels Japanese and sometimes it feels Chinese. Especially if you've played WWM or Wukong, you can see how it's more their style with the more "weighted" combat and impact-heavy yet also super light.

Art style is Chinese. You can see it in basically all the locations you go to though I will completely admit many of the character designs feel Japanese-inspired. This is especially apparent when you go to Sixth Street's giant statue, what Enzo looks like, their Ramen robots that looks straight out of China, Koleda's entire construction site that looks far more like how the Chinese have their whole setup, Port Elpis has the grandpas farting around fishing like they do in China, all their entertainment venues look like the grungy Chinese setups with tons of posters layered on top of each other and graffiti, etc.

The only time I've ever felt like it's Japanese is parts of Sixth Street since it absolutely feels like I'm running around parts of Shibuya, but then that quickly disappears when you go to Lumina Square or just spend a bit more time looking at Sixth Street as a whole because it ends up feeling more like some Chinese subdivision and skate park than Shibuya after a while.

Every single inspiration quoted by the producer is japanese : https://www.ign.com/articles/zenless-zone-zero-producer-reveals-surprising-inspirations-and-its-not-persona-5

The animation is deeply japanese with a unique touch of western disneyesque style on top of it but it remains mostly japanese. This is why the game is so popular in japan too, people can't help but see the Y2K vibes from dreamcasts games and other titles that were popular at that time.

The areas aren't as outwardly japanese as NTE's city can be but it's also mostly japanese. I can agree on the robots but them putting their own spin on robot design doesn't turn the art style into a chinese one. Just look at the focus that ZZZ puts on retro tech with CRT TVs, video tapes and arcades machines : it's a very japanese trope and it's still very relevant to current ZZZ.
You will find many chinese references but they're all built on top of a japanese aesthetics, thirens are kemono characters which were widely popularized by japanese media, the loli characters are typically japanese and even Yixuan the chink character has hentai doujin body proportions.

Yet every single cutscene has everyone moving like Tom & Jerry and pretty much whenever anyone brings this up it's in comparison to western Hanna-Barbera cartoons. They never really had that flailing movement style or tube people. Obviously in combat you can see its DMC-esque inspirations but I don't really see it anywhere else.

>people can't help but see the Y2K vibes from dreamcasts games and other titles that were popular at that time.
I genuinely don't see it. When you look at a game like WWM or Wukong they do the overly-animated flourishes and have the lightness of blocking and parrying along with lightness in attacking with the harsh impact animations their games are known for. It doesn't have that Japanese "polish" to the animations that makes them feel more quality and smooth, they're more "light" and flourish-y. When you fight in ZZZ it's like you're hitting air but heavy air and when you parry it sound heavy but feels light. That's how a lot of these Chinese-made games feel rather than how something like DMC or Bayonetta feel.

>Just look at the focus that ZZZ puts on retro tech with CRT TVs, video tapes and arcades machines : it's a very japanese trope and it's still very relevant to current ZZZ.
Retrofuturism is pretty normal in every country, it's not just Japan. Even WuWa has this in the Pioneer Podcast for example. I can sort of buy the kemono example if not for the fact that it's stylized more like the Chinese take on that concept where it's 90% human rather than the Japanese take where it's a humanoid animal. Ben, the panda, and Pulchra are functionally it, the rest are humans with ears and tails. The Japanese tend to do 3 more than 1 whereas the Chinese are the opposite, doing 1 instead of 3.

There are obviously Japanese characters like Miyabi for example, but overall everything screams either "Taiwan" or "China" to me with the "Taiwan" lean being when they lean Japanese.

>unironically calling a JP genre, using a JP word for that genre, "Chinese"
I specifically mention the Starlight Knights because they look like Chinese knockoff suits that you constantly see coming out of their country where they don't understand Super Sentai or Kamen Rider and simply use a mixture of both motifs which is exactly what the Starlight Knights are. At best they look something akin to Local Heroes in Japan but if you're part of this fanbase you will understand what I mean. Japan either does Kamen Riders or Sentai teams, not both unless it's literally the Goriders as a joke whereas Korea and China both do this weird mixture of them all the time.
>has never watched FLCL, Trigger, or Gainax in his life
I've watched FLCL, LWA, GL, and clips of PnS. They're not as embellished as this.
>producer literally cited DMC, plays nothing like Wukong
I didn't say it plays like Wukong, I gave you the example of both WWM and Wukong for the combat because how the Japanese and how the Chinese do combat feels different. The Japanese tend to make it more responsive, impactful, and flows well whereas the Chinese tend to make it super light despite heavy animations, constantly looks over-the-top but doesn't feel it, and is very flashy while feeling basic. I'm not at all saying there's no obvious inspiration from these games, I'm saying it always feels like a Chinese game because of how they produce these types of games and ZZZ is no different than WWM or Wukong in how it ultimately feels to play it when it comes to animations and feedback.
>with the exact iconic JP VAs famous for voicing those archetypes
They use the exact same "iconic JP VAs" for all of their games. Furina's VA is in all of their games for example.

Look man, I'm not saying that there aren't tons of Japanese influence surrounding the game, what I'm saying is that when I play the game it feels like Taiwan which is a mixture of Japan and China, not Japan. I don't even know why we're arguing this.

>You basically guarantee shop spawns by having it equipped.
>The instant a single shop is found you just need to buy around two EXP drops and you are functionally good to go.
>Permanent free shop rerolls are found in the lowest tier Resonium items and usually happens within your first 5 or so pickups.
>There's also a tier 1 Resonium that refunds half the spending cost of anything you buy.
>Once you level up twice the shop already has double the spawns.
>Level up three times and now you can buy anything you want with HP and it's laughably low because even a tier 3 Resonium is like 10 HP.
>You can already get three slots of legendary passives so all you need is 15% chance for health on damage on three slots and you effectively generate a health tile every other time you take damage which includes when you use HP to buy items, and with the first level up this always spawns free money.
>You can straight up just buy the HP drops with HP and net a positive amount of HP from the encounter then reroll and try again.
>-5 HP +1 ATK per level is insane.
>+20 HP per level up is also insane and negates the sole negative of the previous thing.
>You can also get buffs like EXP/HP on coin pick ups, Ether Crystals on coin pickups, monsters spawning on coin pickup or Ether Crystal beaks.
>This then causes a chain reaction where every coin you pick up typically spawns a monster, a health tile, or another coin.
>There is also an item that removes 20 HP but in exchange gives you +1 ATK per 10 HP which is so insane that you end up with hundreds of ATK for doing nothing.

>Japan doesn't mix Sentai and Rider suits
Gransazer, Justirisers, Metal Heroes, and Gridman have been doing squad armor hybrids in Japan for decades. You don't actually watch Toku.
>FLCL and PnS aren't as embellished
FLCL and PnS are literally famous for being peak squishy, exaggerated keyframe animation. Which Taiwanese studio does it better?
>I'm saying it always feels like a Chinese game because of how they produce these types of games and ZZZ is no different than WWM or Wukong in how it ultimately feels to play it when it comes to animations and feedback.
The producer explicitly namedropped DMC and Street Fighter in interviews. The game is literally built on Capcom-style hitstop, frame cancels, switch parries, hitstuns, and stun meters. Comparing it to Wukong or WWM just because "it feels Chinese" is pure delusion.
>Furina's VA is in all of their games for example.
Inori Minase is literally only in Genshin. She has zero roles in HI3, HSR, or ZZZ. Why are you just making shit up?

Yes, and they're fairly small series for the most part or Local Heroes when they do it. Outside of Metal Hero (Which itself has its own general visual style) those are all standalone shows and small on top of it whereas in China basically all their Toku shows are visually like this. If they're homegrown and not imported from Japan you're seeing stuff like Giant Saver where they have the mix of Sentai and Rider. That's their general way of making these homages and that's clear in Starlight Knights.
>Which Taiwanese studio does it better?
What are you even arguing about man? I'm just saying that it's clear how they do stuff is more western than Trigger shows. The most I can recall of FLCL having that style is with Cotis I think his name was (The TV guy) and occasionally Haruko when she ran around. I never said anyone is doing it better. If you want to argue that then by all means do so, I'm seeing Tom & Jerry and Looney Tunes animation, not Studio Trigger.
>The producer explicitly namedropped DMC and Street Fighter in interviews.
Holy crap, I am not saying it isn't. I'm saying that as you play it it feels like a Chinese game because the Chinese have a fairly specific way of making video games that you can feel through the actual combat itself because of how impactful things are, how they animate things, and how they play in general.
>Why are you just making shit up?
I'm not making things up, I'm clearly just mistaken because people were saying Remielle was voiced by her. Googling right now it's Saori Onishi. That's why I used her as an example because people said that and I didn't think I had to double-check my homework.

>>

>keep moving the goalposts, bud
The point was to act as an example that it wasn't a common thing that they do which it isn't. Goriders was the first thing that came to mind that combined both concepts as a whole akin to sort of like how China or Korea do it. Metal Hero is its own thing that doesn't combine Rider and Sentai, it's its own basis. You wouldn't say something like Giant Saver is like Metal Hero, but you would say it's like Sentai + Rider. Metal Hero tends to have colored heroes that are sort of Rider-y together or even standalone heroes, but their designs are always distinctly Metal Hero (Unless you count Robotack I guess) whereas Korea and China love the Rider + Sentai motif and they both look and act like a combination of both.
>studio Trigger's animation is is literally Looney Tunes filtered through anime
I would say that in terms of their slapstick and doing stuff like giant heads or cartoon explosions that don't kill, absolutely. I wouldn't say in terms of actual animation with how they actually move to do the slapstick. Sucy in LWA kind of does the sliding motions as if she's a moving robe but that's all I can really think of outside of Haruko using her guitar and it bending for an attack. I guess the Spiral head honcho kind of does it too.
>forgot that we're discussing your feelings and not facts
Like I said, this was just an offhand comment I made on how it feels more Chinese than Japanese due to how the gameplay feels like most Chinese games tend to, the way characters and locations are presented, and Chinese signage, that's it. You went into this whole tirade as if I didn't think it had Japanese influences at all when I've repeatedly said it does.

I really don't like the way the story is written now with Phaeton fighting and having superpowers.

For example in this latest zone we could have had Billy and Cissia being our team in the Hollows adding some much needed banter but because it's all Phaeton its super fucking boring since they have no personality and should have just remained a hacker letting their agents take the front lines.

Granted, I'm only right before Season 1's epilogue but it felt like they were running out of ways to justify people not knowing they were Phaethon if they wanted the bigger cast to continue. As it was multiple people already figured it out and Section 6's entire mess was about to get them arrested until dumb luck led to them delaying long enough to explain themselves so that Miyabi trusted them.

I know the switch from computer hackers to frontline is supposedly spurred on by complaining in either the JP or CN communities (I forgot which) of wanting them to be more involved in the frontlines, but even if you ignore that it kinda feels like no matter what it would have pivoted to them doing so anyway even if both C4 and C5 have Wise nearly keeling over from Ether Corruption. Like, how would they function when 90% of people they meet know they're either ridiculously adept Proxies who can do stuff no one else can with a Bangboo or outright know they're Phaethon and have to keep the cover up?
