A group of investment firms completed the acquisition of EA on Tuesday, the American company reports. As a result, EA is largely owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF). Consequently, the game company has billions in debt following the acquisition.

The investors are financing the $55 billion purchase partly with borrowed money that EA must repay. This structure could be a burden for EA, which has a debt of $20 billion due to the acquisition. The new owners are taking the company private, reports the BBC and others. Consequently, EA can no longer raise funds through shares.

So it was a leveraged buyout. I hope ea burns to the ground.

That's why I don't really give a shit. Live by the sword, die by the sword. My only regret is they are taking some good IPs with them, but then they haven't done shit with their IPs beyond occasional mobile trash, so whatever.

I'm so confused. EA paid to be bought, and they're now in debt? The Saudi group gave EA money so the Saudi group could adquire EA, and now EA owes them for it?
What kind of jewish trick is this?
>>
>>744723802
Advanced banking tactics
You wouldn't get it
>>
>>744723802
The investment group purchased EA with some of their money but also borrowed money from financial institutions using EA itself as collateral for the loan.
Yes it's still a jewish trick.
>>
>>744723998
I really don't, please explain.
>>
>>744723513
buying your competition is a great tactic

"We buy you up, and insult to injury, we do it partly with the money which you already owe us from last time, bitch"
Or at least thats how I understand it
Moneylending and islam though? The ME has fallen!

Saudis bought EA with money, then placed $20 billions of debt on company. That's how every fucking private investment company works
>buy a company
>squeeze every last cent it can produce
>transfer all debt on that company
>declare bankruptcy and close it
>>
>>744724116
I guess that makes sense. Why must EA repay the money if the Saudi group borrowed it? I guess they're on eand the same, now, but it's still worded so weirdly. What happens to EA if the Saudis don't pay? I imagine they go into the financier's pocket, but who's this financier? Either that or the saudis sell EA by pieces in order to pay their debt.
>>
This debt shifting bullshit should be outlawed. Every private investment firm does this shit with dying companies, all the old execs get out with golden parachutes, then the company goes under and nobody seems to be at fault. Money just goes poof! It's absolutely absurd.

I hope the houthis burn Saudi Arabia to the ground.

>>744723802
nigger, the US has shown that you can be trillions in debt and it doesn't matter

the economy is a spook, a collective hallucination to make you think they have power over you

when you have so much money you can buy money without the money and use the money what you buy to then pay for what you bought

its bullshit but it is what it is

I totally get it now. Thanks.

Is this [Good News] or [Sad News]?

Yes retard, what is so hard to understand?

You buy a supermarket, you take a loan at the bank for 20m. You owe the bank 20 millions right? Now you buy the supermarket. Now you have a supermarket, and you owe 20 millions to the bank.

In other words the new owner of the supermarket, you, owes 20 millions to the bank. So the market, which is yours, owes 20 millions to the bank.

The old owner doesnt owe 20 millions. The old owner got away with 20 billions. You are mistaking the whats being sold with the owner. Because you are a retard.

What are you talking about? They are getting a shit ton of money. $55b is a like more than a house and a car combined.

People are acting like this is some high tier financial magic, but it's no different than you buying a house and putting a mortgage on it.

EA Sport.
It's in the DEBT

>>744726128
People paying a shit ton of money for your company usually means the opposite of dying.

good
>>
>>744733739
It is unironically healthier for the industry if EA just makes ultra monetized sports slop for dudebros and brazillians going forward. That is at least a quarantined cancer that doesn't concern me. Tranny slop like Veilguard is an active poison to everything I enjoy and the more that people behind games like that are booted from the industry the better.
