My hopes aren't high with modern Nintendo and IS, but the idea is still cool with lots of potential.

And it was done before with Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn with transferring data between two different consoles. If true, it would be the last piece of news they dropped in September or end of August.

Crests can skip generations and stuff too. Characters don't have to be directly related for that to happen, but at least distant cousins.
