Now that the dust has completely settled, is it a decently enjoyable game?

OG patch was good then D2roons where whining about the difficulty in abyss mode and couldn't get out of act 1.
>>
too late, they dont make fun new season mechanics anymore, 20-30 or whatever was the golden era
>>
>>744736447
It has the best campaign in the series if you play it blind on Torment 1 difficulty. Act 3 onwards is pure unfiltered kino

On console? Yes. PC? No.

Junk food game.
>>
Yea man, now that it isn't the newest entry of the franchise anymore we can all start sucking the games dick and say it was a misunderstood masterpiece.
>>
It always had extremely good combatfeel (skills, animations, sound effects, etc) and dare I say pretty good atmosphere (it wasn't dark/gritty/whatever like D1/2, but it's a pleasant game to look at and listen to), and it has character at places (like female wizard having Azula's voice acting and personality, or followers commenting on stuff), but the systems were fundamentally flawed in the original version: there literally were no builds in the sense of being able to build towards something synergistic (you could at any moment swap skills and runes to "more balanced" ones), there were no "chase items" whatsoever (only marginally better rolled versions, and it was all-RNG with no target-farming or crafting or anything of the sort), and the game had the same campaign structure as D2 but the story was offensive, which makes having to endure it several times a pretty big deal.

I am going to play the OG on Xbox 360

The expansion "fixed everything". In a monkey's paw curls kind of way, but it did: it added legendaries and set bonuses with "10000% damage to skill and makes it free and AoE" which means skills that didn't have associated legendaries were literally like a billion times worse, but if you wanted to play whirlwind or blessed hammer or any of the supported skills then they actually did receive unique playstyles. It added "levels-after-levels" kinds of mechanics like gems, item augments and modified paragon levels. It later added ancient and then primal ancient items to offer upgrades that weren't just better rolls - after all, you could get a full set of BiS legendaries within a few hours of starting a season. It added Kanai's cube for limited crafting and target-farming (like upgrading rare items to legendaries of the same type). And it added the adventure mode and greater rifts, which simply had a lot of mob density with no distractions, so you no longer had to do the awful campaign (plus, the new added act was actually pretty good)

Like, all of these "fixes" are ridiculous (10000% damage bonuses... really?), and it was unquestionably "the casual Diablo2like" compared to Diablo 2, modded Diablo 2, and especially games like Path of Exile. But with the expansion the game started to "work", where you could enjoy the good combatfeel in greater rifts without watching Deckard Cain die to a butterfly for a hundredth time. You couldn't grind it for weeks on end because it just didn't have the endgame to support meaningful character advancement, but you could do the season journey every couple of months and have a good time doing it.

The story fell off HARD after act 1 I don't know what you're talking about
>>
>>744737918
The switch version is better, but ngl i've beaten it with every class when it came out on the 360 so I can't complain
>>
>>744736592
>abyss mode
huh
the highest difficulty was Inferno, not abyss
>>
>>744738154
NTA , edgelord grimdark is a preaty stupid theme for a numbers-go-up game. I much prefer act 3 where you trashtalk Azmodan while desimating his armies.
>>
>>744738154
What? Act 1 is the worst part. How the fuck can anyone hate Act 3 onwards? The atmosphere during Azmodans siege, the Adria twist, chasing Diablo through heaven. It's fucking amazing.
>>
>>744736447
dog shit Power Rangers game with no builds and WoW itemization
>>
>>744739327
oh it has plenty of builds, they just revolve around legendary "increases damage of (ability) by 1000%" items
>>
>>744739327
>dog shit Power Rangers game
You're like the 20th person I've seen use "Power Rangers" as a criticism (I have no fucking idea what it even means). What youtubers opinion is that?
>>
>>744737168
It's important to reappraise games after things are fixed and you're far beyond holding a juvenile grudge.
>>
>>744739443
it's funny that an R rated Power Rangers is coming out at the end of the month in theaters
>>
Interesting enough the middle is the best part if you ask me

Act 1 and 4 are a total slog but i really liked 2 & 3

I prefer skipping the story and going sttaight to adventure mode though
>>
>>744736447
It's my favorite diablo. It's great.
>>
>>744739170
>Adria twist
This was fucking terrible. In D1 she was a helpful witch and a likable NPC
>>
>>744744943
She still is
