Why can't e-sports ever solidify into an accepted real sport?

We don't have "Football 2, Football 3, etc" being released every season and completely replacing the previous version of Football. It's just been the same game for at least 50 years.

Rules are revised almost every year for professional sports, you just don't hear about it because it doesn't matter for normies. I also highly doubt you read patch notes all that often for your favorite games.
