I think this is misunderstood masterpiece. <3
>>745127521Everyone and their mothers know about this. It got plastered as one of the worst game every by everyone on the Internet.
This beautiful little horror game here. But to be fair, I only know about this one because in almost every ds hidden gems thread on /v/ someone posts this game.
>>745127108I actually booted it up on my GameCube a week ago. Took time to get used to the controls but it's kinda fun.
>>745127108Multiplayer was unironically good
>>745128604What's this? X-files game?
>>745128505For me if I'm playing fps games than only on PC with mouse and keyboard. Pads just don't cut it. Especially on older consoles.
>>745127108I own it on GOG dude, also everyone that is not a zoomer remembers this game.
>>745128945Yes, ps2 version, much better than Resident Evil 2
Back when cel shading was novel and enough to sell your game. The remake is actually pretty good after they fixed it.
>>745132054Really feel like the artstyle was the only selling point of the game. And even then I don't think the effect was really that impressive. Iirc lot of locations felt pretty barren.
>>745130614They're fighting aliens, zombies or zombie aliens?
>>745133136Speed Freaks > Mario Kart 64
>>745132907All of those
>>745132972I regularly think about it in context of skill checks in RPG. It had "Etiquette" skill and through the whole game there was about 4 skill checks for it in total, including tutorial guard at the beginning who had checks for all skills.
GIMME THE RPG
>>745134147
>>745127108A shame they never released a sequel, it was a good game
Only played the OP's listing. Still remember that mode where you have to kill an instadeath skeleton that runs around the level with the high-pitched voice saying 'You can run, you can't hide'
>>745134393Thats a line from XIII but thanks anyway
>>745134393That was my first vidya fap after installing the demo off of a PC Gamer demo CD, I saw that four titted alien after my ship crash and lost it
>>745134010Iirc the dialogues options were mostly basic and same no matter your race&class. Which fair, the game has a lot of races and classes to make alternative dialogues for all, but it's still shame.
Anyone play this?
I’ve browsed /v/ for like 15 years and have never seen anyone discuss pic related. I played the demo on a gaming magazine disc back in the 2000s. Seems to be abandonware now, with barely anywhere to download it.I remember it being pretty fun, but that could be rose tinted glasses
>>745127108Where do I get the widescreen patch for the GOG version and how do I apply it?
Apparently this game has a cult following in Russia. I never met anyone who had even heard of it in English speaking countries. You can tell the English localisation was an afterthought because the voice acting is hilariously bad, even for its time
>>745134607A better 3D Worms than the actual Worms games (mostly)
>>745135657I remember playing worms forts and thinking how close it was to being a good game. Some really good ideas, but the execution was off
>>745127108>game was considered lost media until 2017I win.
>>745135325It's an unreal engine game, just set the resolution in the ini
>>745135118No, but it look cool. Although from the screenshots it looks like you rather fight with dragons than as dragon which is a bit of shame for me. I'm always looking for dragon games since there don't seem to be that much of them. But anyway, how's the game?
>>745129314Yeah of course mouse and keyboard works better but it's fine if you take time to get used to the controls, build the muscle memory. Then it's not even an issue.
>>745134607There's a remaster of this called HoW: Lardcore that's been in development for ages, like 5 years at the very least.
>>745135962I played it as a kid, so my memories of it are patchy. I remember liking it for what it was at the time
>>745135783K, thanks
Can't get this to start anymore, not even in a Win95 qemu VM.

there are hundreds of 90s and early 2000s PC games I've seen nearly nothing about online. I feel like I should upload footage of some of the weirder ones that have absolutely 0 online presence for preservation
The most 7/10 game ever made
>>745139387Shit never knew it got a real part 4. I remember Trapt was considered 4. I played a demo of an early one in the series and it was a lot of fun. This one good?

>>745154440I would probably be happy if you already didn't tell me that it sucks.
>>745135324I've posted it plenty of times and played the game, it's pretty fun underappreciated game. I remember it has that one section where the game takes away all of your equipment and you have to dodge rockets and shit and I remember that being really hard.

>>745141337truly a shame
>>745157171Yea I loved the crafting too. Felt very satisfying coming across a new material, and reusing the blueprint to upgrade the weapon. I liked how it even changed the flavour text for each materialMy only real issue with it was how restrictive it was in embedding spells. It was fine in the early-mid game, but by the time you get to suslanger you can’t really put in spells that aren’t base level. You’d expect higher level armour to be able to take higher level spells, but they don’t

I still have the cards to this day
Anyone play this bad boy?It was kinda shit, and ironically it was very buggy. There was a sanic spin dash move you could do, but if you repeatedly pressed dash, the game would stack the speed up and it would easily allow you to clip through the level and go out of bounds. My biggest memory is a level where the game let you fly, but if you flew too high up a bat would swoop in and insta kill you. It scared the fuck out of me as a kid because there was no warning. Just this creepy 3d model of a bat suddenly on screen with you dead
>>745174463I have a guide to the game though.

Do you remember those games Descent, Incoming, Forsaken etc. etc.?
Not a game per se, but did anyone ever use Shockwave back in the day? It was kinda like an ancient Steam, but had all sorts of weird games exclusively on there. You could buy them, or play a free trial that gave full access to the game, but on a timer. It wouldn’t kick you out of the game once the time was up, and I found out that you could also power off your pc and it wouldn’t update the timer, but it would keep your save data. So you could easily play the games for free. It had the first three Sonic games on there, but I’m unsure if Sega actually put them there or some guy just uploaded them to make money off of.It was a weird program, and for all I knew it was a Trojan. It was around in the 2000s, but exists today as some weird collection of basic browser games
>>745127108Me and my Dad wanted to get into this for the GCN but the controls were just way too difficult to get use too so we ended up just trading it in. Really neat art style tho.
>>745174752Camera reading was a bit jank sometimes, but honestly, was pretty cool. Got to see the monsters pop up and fight and it was genuinely fun. Of course noone fucking played it so I only ever got to fight against bots.
>>745133868Recently realized this game was so fucking shit for locking previous spots out once you get to the later levels, especially the last dream level. Why the fuck would you have a map if you're going to block the fun places out
There's a couple but one that comes to mind is Flying Dragon (I had to look up the name it's that forgetful lol).I remember constantly renting this one and playing the shit out of the chibi fighting mode.Cluefinder's was another one I actually liked. Fun little educational point and click adventure with a hot red head gril.Another one I remember 'playing' as kid but can never find the name or anything about was this weird animal fighting game where you'd start the match as normal animals then you had to press some button to transform into your actual monster character to fight with. Shit was so surreal with a very dark artstyle that stuck to 4 year old me.
>>745176189>weird animal fighting game where you'd start the match as normal animals then you had to press some button to transform into your actual monster character to fight withThat's what >>745175282 was, but it had a cartoony art style, not a dark one

The GRAFIX un-ironically.Was hard as fuck for a baby like me but i still own it. Played it again recently and it's still hard as fuck but super satisfying too. One of the Best in it's genre id say.
words can not describe how memorable this game is only because i hate it so much. if you thought YIIK had a meandering, pointless plot, imagine a game with a really good hook that goes out of its way to tell you it's dropping the plot of the game so you can go dick around doing stupid pointless shit fighting some stupid pointless ragtag gang of retards (don't worry they're not the real villains) all for it to be revealed that everything between the start of the game and the ending of the game could have been cut out and nothing would have changed. oh yeah, and if you thought yiik's combat was painfully slow, imagine how slow it can be when the enemies get minigames, too

I fucking LOVED this game as a kid. I bet some anons know it because it came bundled with certain hardware, but I never see any discussions on it. It's basically a hybrid RTS / vehicle combat game that requires the player to build tanks, planes, helicopters, and simultaneously juggle controlling individual units. I've looked far and wide for a game that comes close to the frantic rush of playing this game, and nothing does. Modern devs are simply not talented or creative enough to make a game comparable. At least it's true abandonware and now free to download, but I would love to see another game in this genre made before I die.
