OG Gothic is what I think of when I think of old open world arpg and it had a lot of the same flaws people bitch about. Skyrim which is a newer game has all the same flaws. I didn't grab the game at launch. I was busy with other games and I wasn't all that interested in it. Although I was interested in it when they showed off some of those fancy-looking trailers back in 2019/2020. Now, I'm kind of bored and looking to try something new and I think CD might be it. I'm just waiting for the game to go on sale.

>>745176691dunno why the other anon mentioned the puzzles as if the ones in CD are any good, most of them are very repetitive and are intentionally designed to be slow due to slow animations and clunky controls. You'll figure out how to do something 5 minutes ahead of time and you're still going through animations, and most of them are very samey with the same solutions. the puzzles are easily the second weakest part of the game, with the actual weakest part being that the game's "discovery" aspect is very very weird. you can find a cool place in the distance and either there's nothing actually there besides some mobs or you're told to come back later even though there's a perfectly good puzzle to finish, and then an item I would consider to be critical for exploring an entire segment of the game is in a little hole in the side of a trading outpost you would have never found if you weren't wearing the pirate hat, which you should wear all the time because other shit is found in random places without any landmarks and it gets annoying after a while and doesn't feel very rewarding.
