how the fuck is there no mod, or option in the game, to replace all of the music with the original OST? You would think this would be one of the things they couldnt possibly fuck up but holy shit its bad. Every track is a watered down orchestral slop that completely removes the strong melody and emotional immediacy of the original.
>>745176616Because the new ost is better. Don't like it? Then just stick to playing the original, unc.
>>745176616That wouldn't work. Remake's OST is designed around the HD visuals and gameplay.
Why is there no mod to add the original graphics?
>hear an instrumental flourish or vibrato somewhere>AIIIEEEEEE IT'S LE ORCHESTRAL SLOP, SAVE ME MR. UEMATSU
>>745177109>NOOO YOU CANT HAVE HD VISUALS AND A MIDI SOUNDTRACKyes you can
>Hear a 100 man symphony for whats supposed to be a small native american villageAh yes just what I imagine when sit around the fire at my native american camp
>>745176616Remake has a fuck of a lot of music. Rebirth has an absolutely unreasonably absurd amount in it(seriously, a game's worth of songs for every goddamn chapter.)There aren't enough tracks in the OG ff7 to cover everything appropriately. You can mod it in, sure, reusing a bunch of shit when you're not sure what else to fill with it. Sometimes it'll work. A lot of the times it won't.You can feel whatever you feel about the OST for these games, but that's the way it is.
Game really does a lot to appeal to the "people with stupid shit to bitch about" demographic for some reason, they never shut up about it>this MUSIC has INSTRUMENTS in it>how dare it not sound exactly like it did when I was 9 and my carefree life made everything seem better
>>745177336>>745177953To be fair, I can see where someone who hasn't heard most of it would say what OP did. Bombing Mission is literally what he was describing - OG just sounds way more intense and pressing despite the simpler arrangement and instruments. As games I fucking detest remake and rebirth both. They're filler-ladden garbage with a gacha-influenced battle system, designed for "synergy" with EC. But the soundtracks I won't shit on. There are songs I don't like, and remake has way too many variant/remixes with only slight differences, but lack of "strong melody" and "emotional immediacy" is not a problem most of it has, especially some of the battle themes.EX: nobody being honest can compare both versions Descendant of Shinobi and say the OG is more melodic, emotional, and themely. That shit just ain't true, especially the battle version.
>>745176616>how the fuck is there no mod, or option in the game, to replace all of the music with the original OST?There's only a couple of instances where it is justified, the others are just schizo nostalgia nigger complains.
>>745178972Something that activates my autism is how modern renditions of Bombing Mission shave a note to do a call and response. What's now>da na da-na da-na; da na da-na da-naHad stronger triplets before so it was a persistent>da da du-du-da da du-du-da da du-du da daThere's a sort of rolling quality that gets taken away when you overemphasize the brass fanfare
If only a worse OST was the game's only problem. I thought the original had a writing issue but it at least compensated with some pretty good pacing. Remake and Rebirth don't even have that.
Don't forget that he wants you silenced.
>>745176616FFVII Remake Trilogy is SE's original vision for the game, unbound by limitations. It's not a remake, it's a return to original form.I say this lightly, because it's clear to me that you are not a creative, but if SE's original vision for Final Fantasy VII included the initial, outdated soundtrack, then they would of added it in this return to form. The original Final Fantasy VII is like a doodle scribbled onto a napkin by a drunkard at the bar. Final Fantasy VII Remake Trilogy, on the other hand, is a look inside the creative genius that is this world.
>>745176616Fucking gay. That was like the only great part of remake. The swath of great music and variations on the battle theme.
Glad Rebirth flopped and killed all momentum for the series. No one beyond this board even knows what this series is anymore.
Of all the things to complain about, the remake OST is the least of the game's problemsThe score is actually extremely well done save for a few tracks but overall they didn't ruin it
I hate that FFVII Remake is this industry curiosity wrapped in meta discourse. As someone who recently beat Rebirth and just want to talk about the game I've been playing, it's very annoying when everyone just wants to debate its sales and cultural footprint. And now some things-Gongaga is good actually-Corel was best though, cool uses of the grappling hook-Gilgamesh had great presence and paid off well as a character being introduced to the universe but the ultimate fight was underwhelming coming off the summon monster duos which were generally more challenging-FUCK the archfiends
>>745182565>this pasta AGAINIt's none of that, and never will be.The FF7 DE-make trilogy is a goddamn timey-wimey SEQUEL to the original 1997 FF7 game, and its many spinoff-sequels from the past 25 years. Not only that, but it's also Unreal slop and outsourced Pajeet shit, that cannot decide whether it wants to play like Ubishit or FF14 raid.>>745182794Incorrect, asshat. The OST was butchered just as bad as the visual style, gameplay, pacing and story. Audio-design is one of THE most underrated aspects of gaming, and even attempting to tamper an evergreen masterpiece OST like FF7's is pure lunacy and blasphemous.
>>745184361only person in this thread with taste.
Whites don'g buy remakeslop.
The new OST being kinda not very good is inexcusable, when the older rearrangements like the ones with Advent Children and Crisis Core didn't sound lackluster. Oh, except even Crisis Core remaster fucked with the soundtrack and the new one is worse. They just lack competent audio department now.
>>745183268I though Gongaga was pretty unneccesary to the game(more filler content, basically.) But I can't deny I liked how they did the area in general. Reactor sucked though.Phase 3 of midgardsomr is an incredible song, despite being another battle theme remix. Most of the mixes are pretty "eh", but for some reason they knocked that one out of the park. That and the corel mountain theme pretty much justify the game's existence on its own.
>>745185760Speaking of Mt. Corel, I like how Barret's shooting minigame was them repurposing the original space shooter from the Gold Saucer right down to the flicky way the reticule behaves, since the shooting minigame at the Saucer now is more of a shmup tribute.
>>745176616>i'm an idiot please give me attentionHere's some attention, idiot. Feel better?
>>7451766161. Because the OST is by far one of the Remake's most redeeming qualities. It's actually fucking great.2. Because the new game's score actually has many individual arrangements of music from the classic game, occasionally blending songs or having one lead into another. It's not like they just made one modern versions of every song and replaced them.
>>745176616Why would you replace the new ones with objectively inferior chiptunes ones?
>the song that plays when Jessie hands you an Ifrit materia she's been using as an anal bead https://youtu.be/wIWk3Vaxm7c?si=LxeXbOSxg_eouOuj
>>745186656All the combat music is also dynamic and changes based on phases and what's happening in battle. Same goes for some of the areas. The game has over 8 hours of music,
It's a pain in the ass. Honestly, there's a lot of logical mods you could make for the game that'd probably make a lot of sense for certain fans, but few modders have the skill or even patience to make them.
>>745186513Old and new aren't really as different as you think. They're both just rail shooters. New one just has a few gameplay tweaks and an actual theme park design.
