I had just spent around a hour and a half playing it when I saw this thread on the catalog. I enjoy it. Been playing on Sovereign Mode and not using any demon time travel trickery and it's pretty neat the level of consequences you get. I'm on Cycle 36 and I think I'm just about to finish game already. Just successfully found the culprit and made a treaty with Enberg, but unfortunately, I was unable to make a treaty with Moonvale because I overthought it. They had a quest where you were supposed to kill a dragon but the situation around it was very suspicious, so I thought that if I let the quest expire, I'd be rewarded for it in one way or another. Foolish of me.

This is my squad, by the way. I like the artstyle in terms of portraying cool characters, but it's unfortunately really sexless for the women, so the other anon calling it tumblr is on to something. I don't mind if there's a lot of diversity in the designs, but there's literally no sexy women knights, yet they have like 3 different variations of a pretty boy knight.

Still love the game, though. Just a small nitpick.

there seems to be some decent reactivity around quest resolutions and knight deaths, but i haven't got far enough to really test that
theming is bizarre and inconsistent, player character is extremely influential thanks to literal divine right, but very few characters act like they care about that in any way, guess epic funny hijinks do not work out unless all the walking stereotypes can act buddy-buddy with their employer
fucking kingmaker had a better "ruler" theme to it, and that was a whole fisher-king affair where the baron and his suite were the single most capable tactical unit that had to solve all the big problems

I agree with these criticisms. I think the game is carried for me in terms of the gameplay, the reactivity and the big picture stuff. In the moment to moment, the writing is too "twee".

Oh wait, I think I get it now. You must have chosen Gavault over Groveshire. I think that's the only big choice in the entire game that automatically locks you out of meeting a ruler of a county. So I missed out on the one sexy character of the game cause of that kek

I think there's a way to get both but only if you use the time travel, which I've purposefully avoided for that sweet "Time Travel: 0" stat.
