What's the /v/erdict? Played it for an hour or two and so far it feels like a pretty cozy artillery sim.
>>745188236Unironically the dark souls of "sims". Back when dark souls came out and people thought they were some l33t fucking pro gamer because they beat the obscure hard game that isn't actually that hard once you understand the mechanics. That's what this game is. People feel like they're the reincarnation of Newton because they destroyed 3 targets on a map but it isn't that complicated at all once you understand elevation.
Is it just me or is Phantom Battery a huge spike in difficulty? This level is kicking my ass.
>see thread for this game few days ago>enter thread>500 posts of calling other people brown
>>745188236>a pretty cozy artillery simthat's what its supposed to be. when you play it, it's not supposed to be hard, you're supposed to enjoy the plotting, shooting, and everything being huge and noisy. then you get the lighthearted funny newspapers at the end of the missions like the old hitman games.
>>745188236It's pretty cool. I pirated it first to see if it was any good or not and decided it was good enough to pay $15 for. Game still has a lot of kinks that need ironing out. But it's pretty cool.
>>745188236It's boring. It's like an autistic man's version of war.
>>745188897Holy mother of projection
>>745188236Pretty cool so far. I'm not far, just did the mission with the train and I got the entire train on my first shot which was cool. Agree with other anons in that it really isn't hard once you get the mechanics. Maybe later levels will get tougher. My only real complaint right now is that they always want you to do clean up of individual units on the map and that feels a little tedious.
>>745192150>that they always want you to do clean up of individual units on the mapNigga they explicitly tell you it's optional. That said, I agree. Did the penultimate mission yesterday and because I really don't feel like getting back to it soon I wiped everything to get at least the medals.
You play for 2 hours and you've seen everythingIt's for simpleminded autists
>>745192915Name one (1) game that doesn't apply to.
>>745190786I used up so many req points on that one because I just kept going for spotters. But really, once you've got enough time, you have to start hunting the phantom battery. Use forward scouts and just cover the board until you find it. As soon as you land your first hit on it, it will move, and now you're the hunter.
the thing that killed it for me was that the dev doesn't care to fix his ridiculous mistake of 60 degrees being the optimal firing angle when this was all based on misreading trivia about the railway cannon the game is based on.
>>745194616real /k/ommando hours
>>745194616The core mechanic is built around a linear equation do you think the dev really give a shit about it
God I love the Drill shell. It's basically just a regular old fuckhuge cannonball and it obliterates every non-fortified unit as well as any other.
>>745195813I haven't it tried yet, doesn't it have a minimum radius? What's the point of using it over AP?
>>745195865Drill shell is just a concrete slab, it has, to my knowledge, the smallest radius of them all, and it only costs 2RP.AP I literally only use for armored targets.
>>745190786I'd say High Tide is the first difficulty spike, with Phantom Battery being another jump.Definitely will fuck you up until you figure out how you want to go about actually solving the level.
>>745188236I know it’s heavily marketed on /v/.
>>745195865>What's the point of using it over AP?Cheap. A low priority unit only gives 5 Credits on kill, which means every other lethal shell puts you at a deficit unless you get a multikill. Drill Shells on the other hand only cost 3 Credits, meaning you actually gain a profit from stoning enemies to death with an inert concrete bullet. It's smaller radius also makes it safer to use against enemies that are positioned very close to allies, minimalizing the risk of collateral damage. Only time you should pay the extra money for an AP round is if the target is fortified.
>>745196760>3 threads so far since release>basically none before>"heavily marketed"What is your major malfunction?
>>745188236It's alright.Too bad the germs that announced their game then the hohols ripped them off but they showed their hand much too early and had no demo. You snooze, you lose.
>>745197097Nta, but I wouldn't really doubt that there's some kind of marketing going on. Personally I'm just glad people are talking about a game I like.
>>745192915Read one dictionary and every other book is just a remix
>>745197405Yeah, nobody is denying that is probably marketed in some form or shape somewhere, but three threads in a fucking week with people actually talking about the game, even if we assume that each of these threads was actually started by a dev, would still be far from "heavily marketed".
Man the poison gas shells are nasty, and they even have a wider radius than the flechette.

>>745208494>but I hear its a pretty short gameYeah it has only like ten or twelve missions, but depending on your 'tism you can go for medals or just fuck around with stuff in that sandbox skirmish.
>>745190786Not intending to brag, but genuinely not sure what's hard about phantom battery? After you have to do the first random relocate, I had to do it one more time after my first hit on the battery, but after that I just sent a spy plane over, direct plotted the battery's position, hit it with a double volley, spy planed again, double hit again. It didn't seem capable of returning fire quickly enough to be a threat.I found betraying high command in the last level to be the hardest moment, but even that was relatively easy once you planned everything out and requisitioned enough.
>>745188236it's an appetizer for PVVK, but still leaves me hungry.
>>745188897I wish there were a few more levels that you had to rely on informed guesswork for.All the moving targets are kind of easy because it gives you all the info you need to calculate their position and the firing time exactly.Even in the later mission where there is a moving target, friendly requests for smoke, and counterbattery fire after your first shot, you can easily just ignore the single request for smoke you get to make your first shot on the moving target, or just quickly do the smoke and counterbattery and still have plenty of time to meet the train's schedule.I hope they do a DLC with some more challenging missions where you have less complete info to work from. I enjoyed it, still felt pressure, but didn't find it a challenge.
>>745200098I wish there were more use-cases for most of the shells.Beyond having to use the STAR shells, smoke, and tear gas for specific objectives, I don't think I used anything other than AP, DRILL, HE, APHE, CLMN.The incendiary ones, for example, seemed completely pointless. I focused on precision in my playthrough to reduce risk of friendly fire, but I guess for my next playthrough I'll go full Bomber Harris.
>>745209368I dunno, I barely had time to relocate before they started ganking me, and at one point I was incredibly unlucky with spotters since you get little RP at the beginning and having bad luck with the scout plane means you squandered a lot of points. That said, I just did your spoiler and found THAT one pretty easy, because you can lay down and plan everything (or rather I chose to first deal with artillery and then work from there) and then it's just shot after shot without having the CBT go down.
>>745209368I keep forgetting airplanes exist. they're just so expensive.I just checked and there's a "no aerial reconaissance" medal toomy plan so far is:>relocate>2-3 location reports wherever I've relocated>2-3 FO on some quadrant close to the red "?" hoping to find and kill a spotter>???>profit, maybe?
>>745211002I used incendiary in final harvest because I was counting on the spreading fire to reach units outside of the initial radius. Of fucking course over three thermal rounds NOTHING did spread. What is CLMN? I only know CYAN, but you don't get that until the final mission.STAR is a cheap way to get recon if you don't have 60 bucks to spare for a plane.Beyond that, there's barely any reason to use anything but AP and DRIL in the first place. AP for the fortified ones, DRIL for everything else.
>>745209856I feel like if they really do MP, you will get some more of that.
>>745209368I struggled with it since it had been a while since I had had to deal with counter-battery fire. I was making a lot of newb mistakes like emergency repositioning right before a shell was about to land. I was shy about recon planes too since you're limited on req. The enemy iron nest does go down pretty fast if you focus it, but if you don't know that it can easily psych you out.>betraying high commandI just tried that and failed. I thought I killed every artillery on the map, but I forgot to recon 2 squares in the corner so maybe some were hiding there. I killed most of the troops too. If I have to kill every single troop then it's gonna be tough with just 8 shells. Was still really fun prepping and printing out a dozen cards so the guns were constantly firing once shit went down. --TRAITOR--
>>745211349You don't need to kill recon, just all artillery. After I killed the last arty it was over. Also, you get 14 shells in total. Preload the first two and then fill up the magazines according to your plan. I also sent some planes up north where there is no recon done initially to see if there were dudes.I was lucky I could use an APHE because two armored cannons were right next to each other (which is pretty funny that it works that way), but even with 13 shells after commiting treason you should have enough to kill all artillery.
I dislike that you need to RNG into good enemy placement to get all gold medals. If they aren't close enough together you gotta spend requisition getting a spy plane - then you can't get gold for all kills without aerial assistance or minimum requisition used.Iron Road comes to mind.
>>745211949STAR shells exist
>>745203208To be fair, Tetris is a pretty autistic game, specially nawadayst: got SML and Tetris on the BrickBoy
>>745211349Did you look in the bottom right of the map, as there's another load on the other side of the city
>>745211212cluster munitions, pretty much replaced by the flechette rounds later on as cluster doesn't do armoured targets and I think flechette has a bigger radius
Judging by the layout of the records here, it seems that I am missing two. Where could they be? The only mission I haven't done yet is the CB skirmish.>>745212423Flechette doesn't do amored targets either. In fact, beyond the X infantry it doesn't do anything.Only AP(HE) do, and may the earthquake one? I haven't tried that out yet.
>>745212423Yes, flechette has the biggest radius of the shells on the radius measuring thingie. However, the cyan gas has an even bigger radius and kills everything that isn't armored.
>>745211131>>745211349>expensive planesI had about 1,000 requisition built up by that level - I just used AP or HE for most of the game, then APHE when I had that unlocked. Didn't even have to rely on scout planes much before phantom battery as the intel after firing each time was usually pretty conclusive for most missions
>>745212593>requisition built upYou build up requisition? I tested a few times and it always resets shit.
>>745211131Your listening posts?
>>745212652Pretty sure you do? Either that or the amount available just rises each level and I assumed it was carrying over. Don't know if it was affected by me playing the whole game through in two sittings.Either way, I had around 1,000 points for the last 3-4 missions
>>745212797Well shit I think I did the Phantom Battery with like 120 RP starting. Then again, I really don't know how it works because I didn't play it in just two sittings and went back to the sandbox inbetween mission to try out the new shells etc. - maybe that resets the counter. I say it's a bug, either yours or mine.
>>745211774>You don't need to kill recon, just all artillery.Oh, I see. I was trying to kill everything and had 4 units left by the end. Only one of them was an artillery, fuck
>>745212739>Your listening posts?NTA but I feel like I missed something, was I supposed to use them somehow? I assumed they'd telegram me info at some point but they did nothing the whole mission. I did everything with just FOs.
>>745212916Maybe, I just did the story missions in order and only quit once at the halfway point, didn't replay any, didn't do the two repeatable challenge missions
>>745212964Yeah, I never bothered with the forward observers or taking out enemy spotters, just went direct for the counterbatteries each time and used spy plane if i couldn't see them.Only had to use emergency relocate on phantom battery and the last mission
>>745212932Well, I always have a hard time with CB, so since I knew they would turn hostile on me my plan was to take out all artillery first and then see what I can do when I don't have to run around like Speedy Gonzalez anymore. As it turns out, killing the last arty ended the mission lol.>>745212964Listening posts are there for YOUR position, since after an emergency move you don't know where you are exactly.
>>745212916Yeah, it is pretty fucky. I didn't pay much attention to RPs, but powder charges are definitely saved between missions.>>745212964I played it twice and both times listening posts gave me intel on the phantom battery after it shot second volley.
>>745211774>just all artilleryDamn, I was close then. And yeah, it's 14, I forgot to double the 6 since you have two magazines. I ended up filling the rest up with EQKEs since I had the req.>>745212327I got those guys. What I forgot to do was scout the bottom-left tiles near my iron nest. There was probably an arty hanging out between A1 and C2 somewhere. I sent a few shells out there just in case but didn't hit anything.

How do I figure out where I am exactly after an emergency reposition? Which card to use and how?
>60 degree barrel angle makes the shell fly fartherthe diegetics are neat and it's a cool concept, but it's not a sim.
>>745214019such a midwit complaint
>>745213902There's a convoy report card that gives you a bearing - dropping two of those can give you a fix.I also heard that you can just do a planned movement and it tells you your position once done, but I didn't try that
>>745200407indeed. but it's putting the sim-ish genre on the radar of more normies. so it's kinda like free PVKK advertising.
>>745214149Meaningless ad hominem. I don't mind if you play and enjoy the game despite my criticism, I complimented its concept and execution. I just wish its ballistic calculation was at least partially rooted in reality, and I think it's misleading to call it a simulator when nothing is being simulated.

>>745214830Never said it did, I just heard that after you emergency relocate, if you do a planned movement it apparently gives you a new grid ref for your new location, which, if true, would save you having to req two convoys for a fix

Someone just walk me through Phantom Battery, I can't figure it out. I use up too much time finding out my new position, sending up a plane, and by the time I've even measured distance to a target I'm already half way to getting blown up.
>>745213712well, it's really more a sign that the game isn't finished. games are supposed to challenge competent players with increasingly counter-designed challenges as the game progresses, such that things that work routinely in early levels have tailored challenges requiring new solutions in the later levels.ive actually never seen someone articulate that it's good that a game gets less challenging as it progresses because the challenges dont change. lol. you zooms are so brain busted. you just pull intelligent, knowledgable sounding phrases like "artificial difficulty" and think it commands agreement. the reason you think that is because it actually does work that way on (You) -- the youtubers you ape just beat you over the head with vocabulary you cant understand, and you're impressed by this, so you start to think using vocabulary you cant understand will impress others. but it doesnt!
>>745214675still a midwit complaint and I refunded the game btwyou dont have elevation, coriolis force, wind, weather or temperature but oh yeah 60° makes all the difference am I right? the only mistake the devs made was admitting to anything instead of telling everyone to fuck off
>>745214982Can confirm this works, you can just slap in the controlled reposition and leave it at zero movement.Costs 4 req more than doing two position reports and triangulating but saves a fair amount of time.
>>745214930Yeah, that's the bit that irks me. The ingame ballistic calculator is just spitting out numbers that players are gonna crank the bearing and elevation to. How hard is it to make those numbers line up with even a basic parabola? Imagine how neat it would be if you could whip out a calculator, do the math on a notepad, and still nail your targets. It's enough to trigger me because I've spent hours doing exactly that with mortar support in Squad.>>745215291Correct, the math being fantasy makes all the difference to me. I'm okay with a little suspension of disbelief from removing elements like wind and coriolis from the equation to simplify things, it's a vidya game after all. But the calculation is just completely made up, and that's where I draw the line. That is my opinion yet I'm glad other anons are enjoying arty games despite that.
>>745215112I think you usually have about 7 or 8 minutes between receiving counter battery fire. It should only take you about a minute to get a new position fix plotted after emergency move, do a scout plane at the same time as you req the convoy to get your position, then plot direct from what your scout plane reveals and fire both barrels, rinse, repeat, emergency move again if you have to. It's really not difficult if you get good at queuing up your shells efficiently and positioning the gun on the gaps
>>745215624>7 or 8 minutesDamn emergency reposition stops CBT for that long? I never really noticed how long it is cause it restarts the next time one of your shells hits right.
>>745215549actual mouth breatherit is fantasy math because all the things I listed arent in it while the 60° makes it not any less unrealistic
>>745215932Ok dude. I posted my opinion about the game in the opinion thread about the game. Not sure why you're pissy about that but I hope your day gets better.
>>745215112Mission Start>wake up (can't wake up)>cold start your lead coffin (unnecessary)>emergency move (try not to throw up from excessive screen shake)>req 2 AP in left, 2 AP in right>load shells>blast turret rotation to left until bearing ~280>always load 4 powder charges in left and right (to account for any random iron nest relocation)Triangulate yourself>mark down the square where your original Iron Nest position starts>req Position Report on (n)#+1, (n)#-1>triangulate your exact location on the map. if you have 2 possible spots, get a third position report or restartTriangulate the Phantom Wannabe Goon Nest>Forward Observer on E3 or F3>read the report. If it mentions the Phantom, you found it. Req an second adjacent Forward Obs on (n)2 or (n)4>if it mentions Arty, Forward Obs on a different square, repeat for a second Forward Obs>triangulate exact Phantom location on the mapFire First Salvo>plug your red marker target distance into the Computah (if you need to)>don't forget to set powder charge setting to 4>fix bearing to red marker result>link turret elevations, set to Computah result>activate left and right turret (you can fire both at once)>fire>don't emergency moveFire Second Salvo>once hit with both APs, the Phantom will move>the timer will pause>load the other pair of AP>load 4 powder each>repeat Forward Obs process to nail down the new Phantom location>calculate the triangulation, rotate accordingly, set elevation, and fire>goon dead in under 7 min
Btw, I hear all that bitching about what it should be and which factors should be include. But none of you autists tell me where it is done better, what is the most perfect artillery you have fired in vidya so far then?

>>745215624>7 or 8 minutes between receiving counter battery fire.lol more like 2 or 3
>>745216328So it's a common criticism about the game that multiple noticed because it's obviously off, and you're mad that you can't just dismiss it offhand. The dev could just fix it. The players that don't care won't see the difference, they're just reading numbers out of the machine. And the players that do will shut up about it.Maybe you'll get a smattering of more curmudgeonly autists wanting wind and shit but at that point they should just play ArmA with Advanced Ballistics ACE3 or Command Modern Operations >>745216270 btw
>>745215740I remember the clock generally being higher than 300, for 5 minutes
>>745216217If you put in 6 charges your shit flies faster (good thing here) and you can do the distance calculation by simply doubling the distance, saving you even more time. Also, is starting the machine really unnecessary? I think I tried that once and got blown to pieces when it wouldn't move.

>>745216914Depends how many enemy forward observers you take out.
>>745218053Ok, but that's an entirely different case. You only reset the timer when taking out an FO, and they compound. But for that of course you have to take them out first. >>745216639As much as I like the game and think Phantom Battery is a cool mission, it's really horseshit RNG-wise. When I beat it, it completely killed any desire I had to go back and get gold medals on everything just because of how lucky I knew I needed to get on subsequent attempts.
>>745188897Try silent hunter 3 with manual torpedo calculations and say that again
Am I supposed to destroy every enemy unit during Gorge or is just bugged?
>>745218440>Phantom Battery mission balanceThis is just like Khazan's Viper boss. >>745218643and I'm retarded kek
>>745218684Yup. Get em all.
>>745218568>>745218440IKF, and it not just gog being slow (which they are but that usually mean 2-3 hours delay)Some dev are really assholes about uploading there, try owning Occupy Mars or Planetcrafter on gog and you'll notice.
>>745218684Doesn't it say explicitly that you are supposed to kill everyone?>>745218691>Phantom Battery mission balanceWait, what was unbalanced here?>The final 2 medals in Rock of Gibraltar mission being unobtainableThat was certainly a bug, see pic relatedBut ok, seems like I will wait for the update until going for medals in PB, because you know what? Fuck that shit, I didn't even bother cleaning up, I just ran to the bed as quickly as possible in case there were a crash or something so I wouldn't have to do it AGAIN.

>>745216639This is probably the reason why they're balancing it tomorrow. Having to chase it down while already being under a metaphorical and literal gun with the ENTIRE map as a possibility is kind of bullshit. Not impossible, but definitely not super fun
Guess you guys did Phantom Battery the hard way, thanks for testing
>>745188236if the game has Colossus by Avatar and Du Hast-Rammstein (or a cover) in the soundtrack, i'll buy it.
>>745218993No, it has its own songs. Why would it have these songs specifically?
>>745218931>balancing it todaymb fellas
>>745218914>Not a fix to numbers in the calculationsYawn.
>Hey im having fun>Next mission: Phantom Batteryoh no
>>745219519Its a fun mission anon, good luck. The one after is a great mission too.
>>745188236I refunded it because I didn't thought there would be math
>>745219670There isn't. Once you get a feel for things you can just eyeball most shots.
>>745220135I don't know, it honestly just made want to play Uboat
>>745218986But it wasn't even that hard.

>>745220390I get that. I feel the same.
>>745220683Anon, I did read your post, and I merely summarized it in words that you can *actually* parse.Protip: You are, by far, not as smart as you think you are.
>>745220390This game is a million times more polished than UBOAT though. It's funny, I actually finished a campaign right when IN dropped.
>>745219670Can you solve these problems?>How many minutes are there between 7:01:40 AM to 7:06:40 AM?>What is (4.87 / 5) * 60?That's all the math you'd ever need to go fast in this game. Even then, that's optional. If you can't solve those, please do your best to reverse the stats showing that people going into college can't read or write. And that numbers make modern youngin's piss and shit. Don't be embarrassed to pick up a basic algebra or geometry book.
Has anybody gotten a proper value for the CYAN shell's kill radius? I would assume it's 1km, but the largest distance from impact I have gotten so far was .89km.It's definitely larger than the flechette, and it takes out other shit than just naked infantry.
>>745219670>because I didn't thought there would be mathThere isn't. There isn't. There is grade school calculations.
>>745220996Math is a sick practical joke invented by the Nazi's. The world would be infinitely better if math was only relegated to engineers and gooks.
>>7452213741+1 is already too much faggot, deal with it

>>745220870>still didnt read it or understand itStill not beating them zoomlet~! Everyone knows you don't understand what "artificial difficulty" is supposed to refer to.>Protip:unironically hang yourself from the neck until dead~!
>>745220996>(4.87 / 5) * 60I just eyeball the percentage relative to the load and then eyeball the angle. 12km is 80% of 15km and 80% is slightly above the 45 degree mark
PSA: In PB, if you kill the PB, stick around and kill the spotters. Your CB time will still increase and you can get the medal>>745221807You can also quickly calculate 8/10 of 60, which is exactly 48
>requisition retained across missions>even when you go back and do previous missionsWow I never even noticed. Seems kind of a fucky way to do mission balance since I would have thought with each mission being a nice little self-contained scenario, the amount you can spunk up the wall on big cards would be factored in.
>1+1 on a calculator>gaymers spazz out>1+1 on a bedazzled gacha progression bar>gaymers cum and want it to keep going higherReally jogs the noggin.
You are now aware that there's no opening for the guns and they just clip through the structure.
>>745222223Hate it when I pull for an AP but get WP
Okay, what the ACTUAL fuck is this?I did not miss one shot. NOT ONE SINGLE SHOT.In fact, I managed to kill three dudes at once with one shot, and my longest killstreak can also not be 11 because I killed 12 spotter in a row.I hope they will fix this shit too.
>>745222208I guess they didn't want you to be able to softlock yourself if you're bad at the game. But yeah, you can just go on the sandbox mission and hit priority targets for infinite req.
>Game has crouch button>The only possible use for this is to crouch under the cannons to reach the front window>Cannons have no collisionIt really makes you think.
>>745222964I was honestly expecting that we could open the safe at some point, with some kind of special ultra secret mission or so.
>>745223049>>745222964I thought there would be more shit to manageYou only have to restart the engine like once unless it turns off if you get damaged enough, but I’ve never had to do itWish there were more missions where you had to salvage a shitty situation like the one where your computer gets fucked up
>>745212503Some are hidden throughout the turret. found one near your bed, and one right of the main telewriter, picrelNo idea whether they've always been there or only appeared after a certain point, I feel I should have found the bed one way sooner than I did
>>745223710Huh, good to know, thank you. I once checked the bed and got booted to the main menu, so I decided not to fuck with its weird interaction box anymore. Also, you just gotta love the CYAN shells. Literally obsoletes everything but the AP shells.
>>745223710Wait, can't you find those right away? Isn't the one next to the fax even the very first one you find? There's definitely no record anywhere near, on or next to the bed here.
>>745223953>Isn't the one next to the fax even the very first one you find?wasn't for me, but again, I'm probably blind. and I swear I recall finding a disc near the bed
>>745223953>>745224336Can we even confirm the item placement is the same every mission?
>>745224531Which items? The records you get from missions, and the letters, are always dropped from the roof hatch. What else is there?
>>745224573Want me to asshole now? gasmask I won't know anyway, I am not very far in the game yet
huhwas revisiting fire on call to test whether requisiton points do carry over (they don't, jumped from 504 on liberation, to 580 here) and farm some if so.got picrel in the mail. it's weird, because I do remember this song, yet didn't have the disc. guess it didn't save for some reason?guess I should revisit every level now, see what tunes I've somehow "missed"
>>745213636This.
>>745224684I am currently also testing reputation points and they're jumping around like crazy. Had 389 in one mission, went to sandbox, had 350, went to another, had 227, went back to the one I had 389, now it's 300.Maybe you get a certain MINIMUM amount of RP for a mission, and going back to an earlier one gives you nominally less and when you then go back to a later mission you get "more", but also just the mininum points for that level.I remember starting the last level ALWAYS with 700 RP, which is coincidentally enough to buy the nook.>>745224684I definitely do not have this record.
Wow I seem to be stuck in an infinite walking sequence right now.
>>745224684how weird, I just started fire on call (with 300 rp btw) and got that record. I definitely read the letter, but I never got this record. wtf
TOMAS IS THE GOATTHE GOAT
>>745225756I wonder if Tomas was there in Barcelona when the operator turned.
>>745225053Speaking of fun bugs, I found this one last weekend but I never bothered to report it because of the hoops you have to jump through for bug reporting. If anyone present is pals with devs or w/e you can do with this what you want.My uninformed diagnosis is that when you interact with the map you stop inheriting the rotation of the floor you're on or some bs. Whether as far as the game engine is concerned the turret is rotating or the base is rotating IDK but maybe it's the base that's actually rotating and the player gets locked in place with no collision checks?Anyway if you leave the map menu when you've clipped through some geometry it dumps you outside IN.
>>745226239Yeah menu stuff is fucked in general. When you pause in map view, you can still draw on it, for example.
>patch>Phantom Battery mission balanceFUCK I missed it, now I have to play the nerfed babymode version
>>745227581Do we know exactly what has changed? The starting countdown seems to be the same and PB still takes the same number of AP shells to kill.
It's really frustrating calculating shit in my head and constantly fucking up the decimals. As a kid I was lightning fast.
A man achieves freedom when he realizes he doesnt need to get the numbers correct to the last decimalas long as its within a a degree in elevation and bearing its going to be fine
>>745224684Interesting, I picked up the record with the white hat label during the mission, but it doesn't seem to have saved it, because starting another mission it's not there in the collection.RRRRRRRRRRRRRRREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>745229692>you don't need to be the best, just the best for the right personTHAT'S QUITTER FAGGOT TALK I WANNA BE THE VERY BEST LIKE NO ONE EVER WASAlso, shooting drill makes you appreciate PRE-SISHIN
I liked the demo for this but it got kinda boring once I realized I wouldn't get to see the shit I'm blowing up. It tickled an autistic itch getting the calibrations right but I'm not sure what kind of depth the full game could offer
>>745227581thank goodness I'm a pirate so I can stay on the old version as long as I want
>>745197120>Too bad the germs that announced their game then the hohols ripped them offThat shit is never coming out. Even if it does it'll probably just be an gayer, more exposition filled version of Iron Nest
>>745229875by the time you got your little 0.000001 dialed in I already launched 2 salvos and saturated your position fast and good enough always beats perfect but slow
>>745230045Uhm, anon, the elevation dials only have two decimal places. Also, good luck, I am behind seven proxies.
>>745229692you dont need decimals if you got a big enough bomb
I hope they will add bigger penalties for friendly fire in one of the next patches.
>>745230262I'll remember your ass when PvP comes out
>>745188897>once you master a game its no longer hard
>>745232181I won't remember yours after you have been pounded into dust.
>>745232504you're not pounding shityou're too busy dialing in your elevation to even fire before im dropping 3 nukes and a drill shell
>>745218187Never tried, but apparently spotters are not considered infantry, as I tried to shell one with flechette rounds, it blew right above them, and they just shrugged it off.The icon was right between the brass arm thing representing the shell on the map.
>>745233458>but apparently spotters are not considered infantry, as I tried to shell one with flechette rounds,Yes, the flechette really ONLY affects X infantry and literally nothing else. It's cool if a friendly mechanized is surrounded by infantry or something, but rather useless beyond that.
>generator off>can still operate everything in IN with no perceptible loss of functionHave I been conned this entire time into believing that anything in this fucker matters except the few bits you primarily interact with?
>>745227658Could be how long it takes for enemy spotters to find you.
>>745235019You mean the "main power" switch? I never understood what that does, it's up one day and down the other, and nothing changes.
>>745235019Electricity isn't real, wake up sheeple
>>745235303I mean the generator underneath the central map display, that you access via the closable maintenance hatch on the floor near the intel boards.
>>745235019I'm going to open every single valve and turn the iron nest into a sauna, let's see what even happensI bet it'll be nothing at all
I remember the dev of PVKK losing his absolute fucking mind that someone took the 3 years he's been making his own version of an arty simulator and made their own in that time and has been whining about it being "Stolen", but haven't paid much attention otherwise.
>>745236201That's the engine, anon. Without it you can't walk away. That said, I am not sure if the turret itself isn't completely mechanic.>>745236259Valves actually make the system lose pressure. Eventually things won't move anymore. Had that happen.
>>745236351>Without it you can't walk awayThat doesn't track since you can activate the emergency move on PB without turning it back on. In fact you can finish the entirety of PB without turning it back on.
>>745236443That's patently not true, because I tried exactly that after some other anon claimed that and it didn't work.Although, are you on the Steam or GOG version?
>>745188236What game do you compare this to? Something like UBOAT?
>>745236494Schteam. I finished the mission like that yesterday, no bs.
>>745236669welp, maybe it was in one of the patches, because I swear I tried it today and it did NOT work.
>>745236351most things seem to work, kinda. takes 3-5 tries. the one thing that refuses to work is the lever to the engine chamber, I wanted to fuck that up too.at least now I know I won't explode from grabbing a moving altitude wheel one times too many
>>745236870>from grabbing a moving altitude wheelHey, that's a legit pro gamer move, I do it all the time when I notice that my coarse setting is too far away.
>>745236774Ye it deffo werks just tried.
>>745237165Well fuck me, it really DOES work. Also, lol @ unpatched constantly reporting friendly fire. No wonder I can't get the accuracy medal if enemy shots count towards mine.
>>745188236I'm convinced it's a bitcoin miner I have a 5070 and this shit spikes every fan on my PC to max the moment I launch it and yesterday it outright crashed my gpu, have never once had this happen with any other game I've played, if I wasn't over 2 hours in I'd refund it on principle alone
>>745237165>Activate Windows
>>745237475Would you?
>>745237453Works on my machine
>>745237524yeah the post wasn't about your machine though was it?
>>745237676Ok, but it still works on my machine, which means the problem is (You). I mean, as if it's not clear with you actually buying a 5070 and such.
what is the replayability of this? are the points on the missions always the same?
>>745237453Did you turn on any framerate-limiting settings in the graffix options or is your card trying to render 2 gorillion FPS?
>>745237852There's randomisation of your starting location, enemy positions, friendly positions and reference points, although your objectives will be the same each time. You can optimise for different gold medals if you replay a mission since they're often conflicting.
>>745237860Yeah limited all the way down to 30 fps and set every graphics option to as low as they can go, game still starts to overheat my pc the moment it launches, not a single other game in my library does this, reinstalled and booted up multiple other games to make sure it's not just my graphics card and everything runs fine just something about this game specifically is killing it the moment that it opens
I'm glad I used the time machine to prevent this sort of thing taking off IRL I refuse to do math it don't add up.
>>745188236It's good.
>>745237507Actually yes, want to check if microjeets really managed to break the KMS-fakes
Does anyone know what the patch actually changed about Phantom Battery
I love the sounds of the guns and shells and machinery combined with the marching tunes playing on the gramophone. Game is so comfy. I've started picking cluster munitions just for the sound of constant explosions in the background.
>>745213636I'd take a game like Hawken with dieselpunk mechs. Gimme a combined infantry and giant stompy mech game set during world war 1.
