The /v/ leaker back in June was right. It is TES 6 Sentinel, which Michael Kirkbride himself just confirmed. Are we looking at kino /v/?
>>
no thanks, i'll patiently wait until they actually announce something before i discuss this.
>>
Cant wait to buy this game 7 different times over the next 20 years.
>>
>>745215139
Is TES the only franchise where the empire is the good guys?
>>
>>745215139
Can't wait to defeat Thalmor as a High Elf
>>
Bethesda are incapable of putting a naval battle in a game
>>
>>745215242
This but unironically
>>
>the return of morrowind's spells and magic system

quantify what that means without feels and tell me how its different from skyrim.

tell me right now with a straight face that you use burden, sound, frenzy, demoralize, absorb fatigue, sanctuary, slowfall, lock, disease resistance or damage over time magic without larping.
>>
>>745215329
I mean it’s lore accurate, the Empire is human centric but allows elves and beast races to join if they’re loyal
>>
>>745215395
I used the fuck out of alteration spells like fortify jump, slow fall, and levitate in Morrowind it makes getting around a breeze. Like when you usually go to the Morag Tong quest giver in the arena district of Vivec you can cut down like 20 seconds of walking around the stairs and up once you’re in the morag tong building by just casting fortify jump and hopping up to him, it’s kino
>>
>>745215139
i think the idea of an empire whose center of power is the globalist merchant race is lame and should be destroyed
>>
>>745215309
They're the good guys because their enemies are elf nazis that want to destroy the world.
>>
>>745215139
>"leak" that the next game is in the most likely place for the next game to be
>wow the leaker was right
>>
>>745215309
they're not consistently shown as good, as seen in skyrim and redguard
they're just a major recurring faction
>>
If it's not Summerset Isles I'm not buying
>>
>>745216329
Even before that they were good. The players were never supposed to dislike the Empire (at least the Septim Empire) so they've always been portrayed as a benevolent Empire.
>>
>>745216423
not like it matters. to them the only regions that have particularly distinct biomes are elswyr and morrowind. everywhere else is just varying degrees of temperate woodlands.
>>
>>745216445
They were not portrayed as benevolent in Redguard, but as an occupational force.
>>
>>745216445
They are significantly better to live under than the Aldmeri Dominion, the old Alyeid empire, and also the Dark Elves. Frankly living under the thumb of Elves in TES is bad for basically everyone, even the Elves.
>>
>>745216445
Morrowind was divided into Imperial vs Native Dunmer factions and Oblivion was the seat of the empire so of course they were liked there.
>>
>>745216571
Wasn't Redguard set in the 2nd era? Thats not the Septim Empire
>>
>which [Guy who left the studio 20 years ago] himself just confirmed
>>
>restore the empire to its golden age
No, I doubt even Todd would make his game outright clash with the main theme of the entire series (the decline of an empire)
>>
>>745215338
THIS
why is nobody talking about what a shitshow the naval battles will be
>>
>>745216617
And Morrowind is allowed to do as they please without much Imperial oversight per the terms that they agreed to join the Empire under. ESO retconned this with their Morrowind expansion but the Imperial colonization in Vvardenfell is supposed to be relatively new
>>
>>745215139
>Expect massive naval battles
This is going to be a shitshow I can feel it.
>>
>>745216647

It is the Septim empire. It is during Tiber Septims conquest.
>"It is late in the second era, a time of war as the Empire of Tiber Septim sweeps through the kingdoms of Tamriel in a glorious bid for conquest. Septim is opposed on all sides, but never more fiercely than by Hammerfell the ancestral home of the Redguards. The High King of Hammerfell, Thassad II resists the Imperial invasions even as he sees other kingdoms crumble until, at last, without warning and surprisingly devoid of court treachery, death takes its full measure. With its High King dead, Hammerfell is crippled plunging into a bloody civil war between the Crowns, fighting for their homeland's continued sovereignty, and the Forebears, who have finally accepted the Emperor's rule. The Crowns, led by the heir to Thassad, Prince A'Tor, are continually victorious, spilling the blood of the Forebears across Hammerfell's sands."
>>
>game about exterminating Thalmor
I'll buy
>>
I wonder how much of the game is going to focused on the Redguards being transformed from brown desert people into full on niggers and all sorts of modern race theory bullshit.
>>
>>745215338
They'll be reskinned starfield ship fights but without lock on so they last longer to feel more epic(tm). EM weapons replaced with ship mage for boarding actions.
>>
>>745216414
Empire is still generally the good guys in Skyrim though. Their opponents in that game are elves that want to destroy the world and the would-be tyrant they've bankrolled and given a game plan to.
>>
>>745216976
What's wrong with destroying the material world in order to ascend to the true state. It is Lorkhan who was evil for tricking the aedra and trapping the elhnofey.
>>
>>745216976
"Good guys" if you ignore them stomping on the rights of their subjects at the behest of a foreign government that is also allowed to walk in and do whatever they please, to abide by a peace treaty that made them the weaker party. The Empire in Skyrim is probably the worst its ever been. The Civil War might as well be the fantasy equivalent of Globohomo going into a nation to reinforce the gay agenda despite the wishes of the natives.

It's not ignoring it. They're just still the better, good guys within the conflict in Skyrim. It's still just the Empire vs the Thalmor, with the Thalmor using their lackey Ulfric to incite an international incident. You always wanna kill the traitor before your enemy, and so any Son of Skyrim would slaughter the Stormcloaks for being controlled Elf opposition.

>Are we looking at kino /v/?
No all the original morrowind/oblivion/ even skyrim devs all left years ago because of bad corporate leadership decisions like not promoting people who deserved it and wasting time trying to make Rust 2.0 with Fallout 76.
Its gonna be Skyrim 1.5 with the same dogshit engine and problems the series has always had. They'll market it off nostalgia to the Zillenial crowd who liked skyrim because that's their only angle. Tons of other series have done "big open world RPG" so much better than bethesda ever could. They missed their moment to release this game in the mid/late 2010s. After the flop bethesda will be dissolved/eaten by other studios just like the others under microsoft's wing.
>>

Let's pretend this fanfic is canon.
Naval battles? How.
If we look at starfield. Did they have giant battles in space? If there are multiple ships going around on a 2d plane. Sure. I guess. I hope we can customize our fleet.

tes 6 with 100% have either legendary items like fallout 4 or loot rarity like starfield
>>
So what if they bring back the settlement system from F4, and we build towns to rebuild the empire.
The the starfield system of build (almost) everywhere.

And instead of the device they used in SF, we put down a campsite, get a radius and starting from there. Find stewards like skyrim had, put them in command and either zone it like Sim settlements or micromanage the shit.

Then we have a ship/base from where we roam the seas like blackflag, but can customize or decorate it like starfield.
>>
>>745218282
Starfield typically did waves of enemies, but the end of the pirate questline has a 6 on 6 with a big set piece thing.
Cutting an entire axis as well as having slower projectiles likely means they don't need small numbers to balance it. But I wouldn't expect any kind of serious double digits vs double digits naval battles, they'd probably lock you into an area with low quality models in the distance to give the illusion of large battles.
>>
if you actually buy this instead of pirating knowing how shit microshabbos and goythesda is, then i really dont know what to tell you, you might be tel avivs most powerful golem

this setting is so god awful and inconsistent that they might as well just give them gunpowder. when you have settings like this that is supposedly set the earliest out of all the games and redguard where everybody looks like a pirate from 1700s with modern looking ships, then idk what the fuck this series is trying to do at all.
>>
>>745217713
Insane amount of mental gymnastics required to consider Ulfric a lackey of the Thalmor but Tullius and the Empire somehow are not lackeys of the Thalmor.
>>
>>745215395
>NOOO STOP RPing!
>you dont NEED to use that spell!
people like you are the reason the games took a nose dive. What if i want to roleplay a necromancer or warlock type charatcer who only uses summons and debuffs? I could play a paladin in morrowind who uses buff spells to buff my strength, speed, HP, or whatever, skyrim doesnt have that because devs only wanted players to play in their rigidly designed playstyles uses like 4 spell schools.

>absorb fatigue
actually good because it lowers enemies hit, dodge, block chance and keeps yours at its peak.
>sanctuary
actually pretty good on a character that is going for more avoidance.
>slowfall
actually OP because you only needed 1 for it to prevent ALL fall damage, and you could use spells to boost jump height.
>disease resistance
if you know you are fighting a diseased mob then why not? if it prevents a really bad disease that cant be cured by common disease cures then its worth it.
>damage over time magic
they are more efficient
>>

>>
We better get hand crafted dungeons instead of the horrendous procedural generation we got in starfield
>>
>>745218938
The civil war is beneficial to the Thalmor, and so in that sense Ulfric is beneficial as long as he continues his rebellion. Tullius represents the status quo, meaning his culpability is not the same as Ulfrics

That said, a Stormcloak victory is against the Thalmor's interests in the same way an Empire victory is
>>
>>745215395
Not him, but in Oblivion burden is expensive and doesn't do much beacuse theives usually just have the clothes on their back and a weapon to their name and can handle most stock burden casts. Feather on the other hand is extremely cheap and useful at all times. Absorb fatigue is fun as a meme enchantment to ragdoll enemies, and damage over time spells are more cost effective than direct damage of the same total damage(+weakness stacking makes it do insane damage.) Haven't done an illusion playthrough, but it could be fun pushing the limits of speechcraft and maybe a more pacifist run with it. Dunno about the magic costs in Morrowind and if they make any of these Oblivion strats less viable.
>>
>>745215139
Reminder that kirkbride and kuhlmann both wanted the thalmor to win in tes6, and todd promised to let them do it. But he changed his mind and gave them the boot because he decided he wanted another generic save the world plot
>>
>>745219073
Can't even say the dungeons were procedurally generated in Starfield since all dungeon types had at most 3 different layouts
>>
>>745215139
>Fake spoilers with a sprinkle of truth for marketing

It's funny because this is exactly how Bethesda marketed Oblivion Remastered. They shilled "leaks" and they're going to do it again pretending that it's the best thing to exist when in reality it's Saarfield without guns.

i never said it was. im simply saying there is a massive mismatch with the morrowind era and the redguard/eso era where ESO and redguard somehow look like the early modern period. it makes no sense that they wouldnt have gunpowder considering their technology. idk why you cant just admit that redguard is a total fucking mess of a game with poor worldbuilding OTHER THAN the background lore shit made by kirkbride with the pocket guide to the empire. like i mean, for fucks sake, theyre running around with modern sabres, modern pants and shit.

>burden
>sound
Haven't used
>frenzy
>demoralize
Both fun to use for asshole mages
>absorb fatigue
Always relevant even on physical fighters
>sanctuary
Always relevant for any class, dodge needs to come back
>slowfall
Easily one of the most useful movement techs and practically mandatory when doing large jump spells
>lock
It has some small use cases but would really shine if Sentinel has larger interiors with more rooms. If they tinkered with what NPCs could unlock objects and made it so thief-centered ones in a group could unlock doors, that would add an extra level to combat encounters (kill thief first, then lock a door behind you and the other classes can't open it)
>disease resistance
So you'd rather have to buy cure disease every time you get rockjoint?
>damage over time
Never used it myself but could be fun for assassination missions if they added silent casting. Poison Apple at hand.
Morrowind easily has the best systems because you're a worthless shitter at level 1 then become a god by the end of the game. Oblivion was worse in some ways but still had SOME of Morrowind's appeal, Skyrim just fucking sucks all around. If you can't jump over buildings in Sentinel by midgame, it's trash just like Shitrim.

i said and medieval, but i guess since you are an autistic pedant i should explain that i mean that the world is ancient, as in, having history that spans far back. it establishes a medieval or high medieval CURRENT setting for games like morrowind, which was a kind of aesthetic reboot for the series at the time, yet you have retarded shit like redguard where you see modern ships and pants and other material. thats my point

There are many different languages spoken in Tamriel with Tamriellic being the common tongue which probably has many different pidgen and accented variations. For obvious gameplay reasons this isn't conveyed in game.

The Empire also has a name.
>>
>this is what TES fags waited for so long

right, because new ideas or concepts are wrongthink for the normie fanbase of TES. got it.

Witcher has some of what you want. Ultimately the other coins just sit in your inventory until you exchange them, it's fucking pointless. You really want to have to run to the bank every time you cross into a new tiny country just so you can stay at the inn? It's busywork on the scale of survival crafting which also doesn't believe in TES.
>>
>>745220106
Its also called Cyrodiilic
>>
>>745220084
But they do that all the time. In fact two of those guys you mentioned are in one building, yagrum bagarn and divayth fyr.

Or how about almalexia, vivec, and sotha sil? Or how about the ancient nords from the first era in sovngarde? Or any of the daedra, who are immortal - every daedra, not just the princes. Or everyone's waifu serana who's from the second era?
>>
>>745220016
Nah, I accept your concession. I already knew the headcanon direction you were going, and the fact that you're spouting more headcanon now even for reality has only proven that you're prone to going off what you make up inside of your own head instead of what's actually on the page in front of you.

Thanks for playing, you redditard chump.
>>
>>745220001
ok I will make that game then, any /g/fag to tell me what book I should read to be able to make that?
>>
>>745215139
Another bethesda slop, no thanks. This company is incapable of making actual good video games. I bet anyone working on games like morrowind/oblivion or fallout 3/nv is already dead or retired. Modern devs are incapable of making anything substantial without proper guidance. When left unsupervised, they'll just print out shitty remakes that have nothing to do with the originals. The new TES is guaranteed to be yet another starfield, but perhaps, even worse
>>
>>745215139
I bet they're going to show it off next year at xbox's not e3 show to pump up pre orders for their next Gen console.

>You really want to have to run to the bank every time you cross into a new tiny country just so you can stay at the inn?

>>
>>745220247
a handful of specifically semi-immortal characters is fine and good but you can't have entire races like that like elves without multiplying your timescale out.
>>
>>745220356
I don't care about the timescale. But now that you mention it , it's pretty funny that we can meet ghosts from thousands of years ago or characters like aforementioned serana and they just speak the modern language fluently
>>
>>745220012
yeah but i think arena and daggerfall are outliers from a time when TES hadnt figured out its identity so it just went with a generic bland fantasy setting instead until the redguard game started slowly shifting and then completely rebooting with morrowind. i still find the high rock shit completely unjustified that they walk around in modern clothing and technology as well. they look like people from the 1700s or even 1800s at times. they should just retcon them into an earlier period of the real life culture theyre based on and make them as well as making them more syncretic, which is a major issue with non-kirkbride TES design. i think this skyrim armor modder pulcharmsolis does a really good job designing hypothetical armor and clothes for these cultures that match our IDEA of the culture, rather than the presentation that is often shown in official TES media.

are you retarded or just baiting? the world is ancient, but its set in a period roughly corresponding to the medieval period, specifically high middle ages. whats so hard to understand about that, normie? all i said was, TES should not have any early modern period setpieces unless you also want gunpowder. i am asking for you as a consoomer of this gay franchise to be a little consistent, is all

Accurate to the original plan of Kurt Kuhlmann. Against all odds you lose in TES VI, in TES VII you have your revenger save the world, and I bet he was planning to have the Altmer as the saviours of Tamriel.
>>
>>745220451
Reminder that these fanon projects that make things weird for the sake of being weird will never align with Todd's vision of TES which he has always explicit stated as the ultimate generic fantasy simulator

Yeah that was the entire point, to reverse the decadent, fading elves trope by having them overthrow the young empire which typically supersedes them in fantasy stories. Yes. I had a trick where I'd crash upstairs in Shenk's Shovel in Caldera, because DB assassins would enter from the ground floor and casually stroll up the stairs to get to my room. Despite being assassins, they can't open locks. So you lock that shit and buff up as you please, then blitz him and take all the money he's wearing across the street to creeper. The AI's inability to interact with locked doors is why you use the spell.

Skyrim didn't make the Nords perfect beings I doubt the new one will make Redguards perfect. Kind of hard to make Elder Scrolls woke when things like the God of Rape exists and is extremely relevant at one point even as recent as the MMO
>>
>>745224527
I doubt the player would be the only person involved in such a process, and the speculated title in this thread is the capital of Hammerfell.
Having Cyrus fuck over the empire for more autonomy, to Hammerfell being tossed to the wolves during the war, to them now helping them out from extinction is some "right side of history" shit that I can absolutely see from Bethesda.
>>
>>745215309

They were not evil in Skyrim the issue in Skyrim is they are on the backfoot and has to at least pretend to obey treaties and work with the Thalmor.
The player is the one who gets to decide if the Nords are freedom fighters or retarded niggers who think that openly bragging about worshipping Talos so the Thalmor notices and think that they would be fine independent when the entire Empire failed is a good idea
>>
>>745225032
>frequent firings and low company morale to work
I think that part is actually bad as churning though employees just leads to frequent wasting of time of retraining people and losing knowledge. This is an issue so many industries be it tech or manufacturing
>>
>>745224884
>evil in Skyrim
Skyrim had been a province for almost a thousand years, and founder of the modern empire was maybe a Nord (named Hjalti Early beard but was born in High Rock). The stormcloaks were secessionists using an independence that hasn't existed since the end of the 2nd era as their "legitimacy"
>>
>>745225226
It's a difficult line to thread because if people stay too long work becomes like a second home, your employees like "family" and thus complacency grows. On the other end, with too much fresh blood there's a constant resource drain and talent varies drastically.

>According to Yokudan myth, Satakal, the serpentine God of Everything, eats itself over and over, periodically consuming all of creation. By "moving at strange angles" to stride between "worldskins", a process known as the Walkabout, the strongest of the spirits learned to bypass this cycle of destruction. Thanks to Ruptga's guidance, many weaker spirits were able to find their way as well, and the practice became so easy that it became a place—the Far Shores. Here, the spirits can safely wait until Satakal has passed and a new skin has emerged.[2] There is no hunger or thirst in the Far Shores, but there are ample martial challenges to keep Redguard warrior-spirits engaged for eternity.[3][4]

>the empire is the good guys?
The empire isn't strictly "good" per se. We see it warts and all so it often comes off as mismanaged or greedy or simply broken. It's just that there's always an obviously evil faction in opposition to it that invariably makes it seem better than it really is. Oblivion is the best example of this since the alternative to the empire is pure death and destruction. But now imagine the civil war plotline if there wasn't the looming threat of the Thalmor in the background.

But TES is better than most series which just has the empire be the cartoonishly evil faction.

It's because it's a setting made by Americans. The idea that the hegemonic superpower could also be good guys because they bring equality and prosperity by erasing native cultures is a very American concept. Of course it ties back to pop history surrounding the Romans, but it's really a reflection of America. I mean the ashlanders are literally just native americans on reservations. Or the whole plantation slaves thing.
With that in mind, the most insightful thing TES has to say is that the empire is past its peak, and maybe it has to be saved, maybe it has to be remade, or maybe it has to die so it can be reborn. But it can't keep going on the same as it was.

I hate it primarily because it means they put less effort into existing settlements. Look at fallout 4 compared to fallout 3. Fallout 4 has like 3 towns in the entire game. Fallout 4 has over a dozen, many with their own gimmick. The settlement system needs to be 15x more complex if they want it to be as compelling as making an actual location with lore and narrative significance.

>It's gonna be Saarfield but Skyrim.
It's not going to be that by nature of what makes an Elder Scrolls game an Elder Scrolls game. Saarfield was hated because it was procgen slop with a fragmented world of squares separated by loading screens. And its lore sucked ass and didn't make sense.
TESVI will on the other hand have a continuous map without procgen slop everywhere.

High chances actually because the Creation Club has official Spell and Magic system ftom Oblivion for Skyrim Special Edition.
>>
>>745230016
Sorry Cleetus but you're wrong
>>

>absorb fatigue
This is a good spell. It's always a win if you're 1-on-1 against an enemy.
>sanctuary
Yes, can be helpful when fighting that cunt with the ebony armor in Mournhold
>slowfall
Yes, to prevent fall damage
>lock
Yes, it's amazing if you are fighting where there are a bunch of doors since NPCs can't lockpick. The redoran vault is one such place.
>>
>>745215309
Not the only one, and not quite the good guys either (straight up antagonists in redguard)
It's a rare case of fictional setting that acknowledges that the government being full of greedy cunts doesn't really take that much away from the fact that it brings peace and order.
>>
>>745226116
one of the only saving grace of their shitty, buggy games, is having jeremy soule soundtrack. this game is doa with inun zur and their garbage engine.
>>
>>745225387
Skyrim had weird lore too, they threw it all out 6 months before release, right before VA recording, rewriting much of the dialogue because they decided the average player would get confused by the unfamiliar terms

This is not a theory it's from the mouth of kirkbride who wrote all the shit for the game

They will do the same with the redguard's pantheon
>>
>>745230165
ironically enough yes, but the issue is it's still Starfield not Star Wars so you're still doing the base game only now your guns make blaster rifle noises
>>
>>745215139
You get a shittier version of skyrim, take it or leave it
>>
>>745229724
At least Emil is not the Lead Designer this time, that gives us at least a small hope.
As for the Veilguard writer joining the team, that guy was the one that wrote some of the only good quests for that shit game and left half-way through probably bc he saw the sinking ship. There are other writer hires too, which is probably a good thing because Bethesda has never had dedicated writing staff until now.
>>
>>745218289
Nehrim is solid but it's a total conversion
The elsweyr mod is incomplete but respectable
>>
>>745229724
Yeah, it's fucking over

In no way can the empire be more evil than china and france
>>
>>745230016
maybe book a different ESL teacher Ranjesh
>>
>>745230452
But Kirkbride didn't work on Skyrim, right? It's just the lore he wrote for Skyrim during Morrowind's pre-production, right?
>>
>>745230694
He did work on skyrim, just not as a full time Bethesda employee
>>
>>745215395
>burden, sound
No because they're powercrept by other effects at every level
>frenzy
Absolutely yes, fuck taunting people a billion times
>demoralize
No because I want to kill everything, but conceptually there's nothing wrong with it
>absorb fatigue
Powercrept, but early game as a power for an imperial is pretty fucking useful.
>sanctuary
Excellent for enchanting and early game as a dunmer power
>slowfall
Slowfall 1-1 means no fall damage without slowdown, invaluable in a game where magic jumping is the main movement option
>lock
Gimmicky, but you can use it to cc mobs in dungeons with doors like ancestral tombs.
>disease resistance
Useless
>damage over time
IIrc it's cheaper in vanilla. Also a decent protection against reflect oneshotting you.
>>
>>745230694
Bruce Nesmith threw away most of the lore Kirkbride had already written for Skyrim when he was employed by Bethesda full time. Kirkbride was contracted to work on skyrim, though
>>
>>745230694
He wrote some lore books in Oblivion. Not sure what he did on Skyrim but I'm pretty Heimskr's dialogue is based off one of his posts too.
>>
>>745225387
>Redguard lore is respected
Yokudan lore is significantly less schizo than TES average, yet I still don't expect Bethesda to do it justice. Watch as it's going to be just fus ro sword.
>>
>>745230694
He literally wrote the trailer
>>
>kirkbride
bringing back old writers means jackshit these days because their contribution will not only be diluted by the other fingers in the pie, it'll have to pass some internal approval council or similar that did not exist back before
homeworld 3 is a perfect example of this
>>
>>745230694
They contracted him to write a lot of foundational world building for Skyrim, a few books, and all the aforementioned 'nord religion' stuff that was tossed.
>>
>>745215139
It would have been kino if we lost to the elves in Sentinel, and we had to turn it all around in TES7. But fuck waiting another 20 years for TES7 lmao.
>>
>>745215139
It's going to be buggy out the gate and yall finna eat that shit up just like their Star Wars game or whatever the fuck they made
>>
>>745219130
You can interpret either outcome of the civil war was a win for the Thalmor. But I would only be fine with them having the player lose in Skyrim only to prevail in the next one if we didn't have to wait 15+ years to see it. If they had shit all over us at the end of Skyrim, by this point I'd probably just feel indifferent and spiteful about it.
>>
>>745230865
>Yokudan lore is significantly less schizo than TES average
I recall Cyrus learning a language of sword-dancing in yokuda by using a magic rock as a pillow.

That is, youkdans had a language spoken be performing ceremonial sword maneuvers.

He then used this in a dick measuring contest with vivec, and won.
>>
>>745230918
>homeworld 3
Don't fucking remind me.
>>
>>745230918
He's not coming back, he said he wants nothing to do with it now that kuhlmann is gone
>>
>>745215218
>no thanks, i'll patiently wait until they actually announce something before i discuss this.
You know, it's fun to speculate and theorize shit based off of rumors, right? Secondly we're on a message board forum, dumb fuck.
>>
>>745230826
He also wrote Mankar Cameron's commentaries and Oblivion, and while he didnt intend for it to be added to the game, an email he sent to Todd where Mankar Cameron incorrectly ascribes daedric princes to realms of oblivion was included while the player is walking around in Paradise
>>
What is Kirkbride up to these days? I haven't kept up but I remember him working on some game for another company that turned out to be abject trash (not really because of his writing).
>>
It might be now that the garbage devs were fired.
>>
>>745215395
cant, you have a skyrim mentality of unga bunga. there is very little in skyrim that requires subtly/branching path/alternate way to do things.
its a biased opinion

now go, mash m1
>>
>>745231009
Yes, that's what I said. There are many iterations of tonal magic in TES, and the yokudan version is "I cast sword". Very boring.
Even with "I cast sword", you can certainly pull off some schizo shit using (sword) dancing together with all the walking bullshit in TES cosmology, but you just know it's going to be nothing but fus ro sword.
>>
>>745231054
Ontop of all that a lot of his , supposedly non canon, writings and forum posts have just been referenced and added to the games over the years.
>>
>>745231056
Dunno but he has a reddit account MKirkbride and 99% of it is filled with Warhammer posts
>>
>>745217273
george floyd
>>
>>745231178
Bethesda does love swords. They'll remove maces and axes and only allow you to use swords, the way Todd intended.
>>
>>745215139
>the return of morrowind's spells and magic system
highly unlikely they're adding back spell chance or shit like levitate, Bethesda has no idea how to make seamless environments anymore.
>>
Actually the one guy who made a true Starfield leak on /v/ back in... 2021? 2022? Said that he'd try everything to add the morrowind magic system to TES 6, so who knows...
>>
>>745231283
Fo4 and 76 and starfield have jetpacks thougbeit
>>
>>745231178
>but you just know it's going to be nothing but fus ro sword.
Can't we just have nothing instead? I don't want super special grenade button powers. I don't want to scream swords. I just want a decent RPG system to build and play different types of characters without all of them having le gimmick tacked on.
>>
>>745216976
It’s been 15 years and people are still parroting the Ulfric is a Thalmor puppet lie.
>>
>>745231130
>the garbage devs were fired
anything to indicate this happened though?
deadweight that's friends with management tend to stick longer than hard workers that keep to themselves, and we know bethesda certainly doesn't value doing anything based on their recent history
>>
>>745231395
FO4 has like, one exterior interior cell (Diamond City) and 76 has none iirc. Would be surprised if a TES game still has levitation considering how they've been doing walled cities since oblivion
>>
>>745231705
Starfield had open cities.
>>
>>745231705
As I said before
Fo4, fo76 and starfield all have jetpacks
>>
>>745221000
I have 1100 hours in Morrowind.
I have never beaten Bloodmoon.
>>
>>745231780
and they become dangerous to visit later in the game
>>
>>745231819
yes and as I said those games generally do not have the problems that the caused the removal of levitation in the first place, that being a large quantity of exterior interior cells
>>
>>745231853
Thats fair because Bloodmoon is really fucking boring. And guess who got hired to write quests for Bloodmoon?
>>
>>745231987
Not him but curious - who?
>>
>>745232089
Emil
>>
>>745231930
Sounds like they've done away with that issue for over a decade
>>
>>745215139
I'm from the future. It was shit and had creation club on launch. Buy the tech dip after the mass outages.
>>
>>745231987
>Bloodmoon is really fucking boring
Yeah, it is. The Skal are cool in some respects and I like the lore but the actual quests are dogshit. I'd rather RP being a petty thief or an archeologist. I wish I could RP as a soldier but I don't really like the legion quests outside of TR.

>>745232153
Oh, I see.
>>
>>745232259
>I wish I could RP as a soldier but I don't really like the legion quests outside of TR.
Those were written by Todd Howard lmao.
>>
>>745219130
It is a shame there aren't any good writers today. What happened?
>>
>>745232336
No shit haha.
Who wrote the temple quests? Those were good. I liked the daedra quests too.
>>
>>745229812
>Burial at Sea Episode 2
Fuck Veilguard this is a million times more damning as it doesn't have the excuse of being bad because of woke it is just pure fucking dog shit
>>
>>745232469
Mark Nelson wrote a lot of the Daedra quests. As for the temple, it was either Ken Rolston, Mark Nelson, or Douglas Goodall
>>
>>745221000
Dragonborn is better than the vanilla base game
>>
>>745232627
>ARE THOSE TENTACLES? AIE I'M GOING INSAAAAAANE
>>
>>745215395
fuck you, I want to use a spear and jump spells again
>>
>>745232175
by basically removing cities from their games yeah. FO4 has one, and settlements you have to build. FO76 is all player bases, and Starfield has no big overworld but a series of separate maps so it can have the cities exist within the cell as a seamless thing.
>>
less dnd and more runequest please
>>
>>745233176
Not happening if Kuhlman and Kirkbride are gone.

The metaphysics are Runequest still anyway

this:

TES was pretty vanilla and had very little character and mystic allure before the two, and with them gone, there's no one left to slow down the descent

I foresee that (as with Skyrim) it'll add a load of stuff which is far more substantial than anything which gets removed but people will focus purely on the removed stuff because the new, more substantial stuff doesn't have arbitrary UI elements drawing your attention to its existence
>>
>>745233521
Meant to quote this OP rather than that one but regardless
>>
>>745233521
Yep that's /v/ with every new game in any series

what did skyrim add that was substantial as compared to the MANY spell effects they removed
