A lot of Pokemon fans don't realize that the version of Pokemon they're nostalgic for never actually existed. Their "memories" of Pokemon are s distorted blend of the games, the anime, and their own imaginations. We saw a handful of buildings and imagined huge cities. We saw a few lines of dialogue and imagined epic rivalries. We imagined a living, breathing world because the game suggested that one existed, and our childhood imaginations did the rest. Then the anime came along and made that fantasy even bigger.Ash's journey looked nothing like actually playing Pokémon. In the anime, Pokémon had personalities, relationships, emotions, and weird little behaviors. In the game, they were sprites that made some beeps and shot pixels at each other. But in our heads? We combined the two.We were basically experiencing the anime while playing the game.

>>745230448I'm bot "nostalgic" for any version of pokemon, retard. I play new games, I play old games, I play romhacks, I play showdown and spinoffs. Pokemon fans, at least the ones you see here posting about pokemon, are the people who actually play pokemon and enjoy it for what it is. You're complaining about normies who watched/played KANTOOOOO as kids. Normies don't post on 4chan. Kantofags aren't defending the pokemon franchise on /v/The pokemon fans you're shadowboxing never actually existed. Your "memories" are a distorted blend of twitter posts and your own childhood.
>>745230448>We saw a handful of buildings and imagined huge citiesThis is true for most old games, this is why we view remakes as objectively evil, this is why oldgods look down on zoomies and their lack of imagination.
So?
I want pokemon to fuck off, it's all scams with cryptofaggots harassing minimum wage store employees over cards and every game just being the same 8 gyms and a couple of mons in each area with predictable levelling and types.
>>745231260You haven't played Pokemon, the past few games have not followed that formula at all
