I get why checkmates are important, but instead of encouraging skillful play, it often encourages rote memorization. If you mastered the controls of the game, given that you don't fuck up, you should be able to beat it without getting blindsided. It's not too bad once you have it down, at least with the B ship which is definitely the better one for survival. Carts are an issue but I honestly don't find them too horrible, maybe they'll take a hyper or a bomb but besides that they're fine. I haven't polished my stage 5 yet, but with Shotia there's a lot of room for bombing if you don't spend everything on 4. That's how I will go about it. The 4 boss is a bit tough too, but find a guide and learn the tricks and it's only half as bad, you definitely want a bomb for the later parts though since the boss just dies to that if you enter its ring and shotgun laserbomb it. I know how to dodge it normally but it's not worth it.

Last shmup I played was Dodonpachi resurrection a few weeks ago, tried a 1cc, died, continued to see what would be next, saw level 5 and lost all hope lol. One of my faves has been Sol Cresta. Unrelated but the game I recently finished has been Pipistrello and the cursed yo-yo. Gonna start playing some Tokon I think. Back to topic, a new mall arcade opened in my city, it’s got a bunch of beat em ups, 6 player X-men, ninja turtles, Simpsons, final fight to name some, some rail shooters like house of the dead, timesplitters and virtua cop. Unfortunately it does not have any shmups, I’m hoping they will eventually get some. I got Ikaruga and Earthyon on my wishlist as the next shmups I’ll play.

It ended on the driver side and pinned my elbow against the seat and the door so I couldn't move for about 15-20 minutes before rescue. Since it was between those 2, I didnt have the entirety of the car's weight against my elbow, so i didnt lose my arm. I managed to send a google pin to other riders, so they were able to secure me onto the car as they flipped it right side up without cutting off my arm. I got cuts all over, but the windshield broke forward, so its a bunch of cuts that need stitches but nothing deep. I can't feel any of the cuts so they are a non issue. I shredded the back of my teeth and lost some of the bottoms of my front teeth, but not to where I cant go to a dentist and get a bunch of fillings, no lost teeth or replacement.The problem is I cracked 4 of my vertebrae on my spine close to my neck. This is recoverable after some time, but can't engage my back and neck. So im in this weird position where I can move all my limbs and do squats or whatever, but getting up from lying down is a biatchI got crazy crazy lucky all in all, still got my limbs in tact and the spine damage is repairable

Do you prefer when games do or don't have viewport panning? I like it as long as the area isn't massively wide like old Raiden games, it feels kind of claustrophobic without it.
