Fears are possible shit changes to the dispenser or the shard income of the average player.
Predictions? Probably will be less explosive than Ryoshu's because they really blew a huge shonenfag load with that one, from the Nursefathers to the Greg/Sinclair power displays. I won't say I expect something subdued because they aren't going that direction, but I don't think they'rere going full action with it this one.

Everything about it just went wrong. The sinner's story basically doesn't function as it requires multiple asspulls and leaps in logic. It's overloaded with characters that have no bearing on the overall themes and moments that only exist for the audience to hem and haw about. Capping it off with a blatant attempt at nostalgiabaiting was the biggest insult. Doesn't help that both Walpurgis were phoned in and the second intervallo was also rancid. At least Twinning Threads sort of helped.

This runs perpendicular to Ryoshu's relationship with her. Sora represents what Rien worried he'd have made Ryoshu if she ever really got close to him like he wanted, deep down. If she liked him, was in sync with him, she could wind up like him. The irony there being that Sora became that way without Rien wanting to be close to her. Because she wanted affection that much more, and had that much more blind faith to give.

The difference between him and Ryoshu gives you a FEELING for how Ryoshu interacts with that finger of the House of Spiders, then the flashbacks flesh it out in some more detail. I haven't played the gane in months, since the last side story. Not even the latest walpeepee got me to log back in, and it seems every update now is sone sort of boss rush or something. Thing is, I hate the gameplay in this game. I fucking hate it. It's ass. I already disliked the dice bullshit in Ruina and coin shit is even worse, and units now are fucking YGO tier with the mechanics. Even worse, all that fucking complexity does not change the actual gameplay at all.
I'll return for the next canto. But I wonder if I would be better served by just watching a non-commentated playthrough after, as I suspect not playing the game for months will catch up to me.

Because those interactions take up time and space that could've been used for something better, which is a common problem with canto 9. If he can't provide anything worthwhile other than being junior Power Ranger, I'd rather see him gone.

After Ryoshu leaves. It looks like whatever forces initially compelled the nursefathers to participate tugged the leash. It's not clear if this is setting up how similarly the fingers "think" when you get to a high enough level or if it's more a convenience so that the story can have a neatly contained example of each nursefather's wants in their surrogate child. But regardless, the source of and impetus for the change aren't exactly impossible to judge, just not explicitly confirmed.

The bough the sinners are connected to inherently is the shard in Dante's head, that's why their strength drop is tied to the contract and gets undone when it's broken.
The sinners start resonating with each canto's bough because the canto antagonist who placed/held/defended the bough had a pre-existing connection to the sinner. Which gets hard to justify for more than a couple of "normal" sinners without getting repetitive.

And that's good, Araya is barely present which feeds into how abrupt her resolution with Ryoshu is. Matter of fact, ditching all of them and forcing NFs into their place would improve the canto tenfold because it would mean Ryoshu will actually get to interact with more of them.

I know the games will sell regardless due to hype and people wanting to see how bad these games are (read: SV). But they're genuinely just not good games.
They have so many good ideas, but most of them are executed terribly. The few that landed the mark are the only ones worth discussing, like Amie.
And I'm talking about BW being "the first nu-pokemon" since it's that game where it opened the floodgates, but it's a solid game in its own right.
