OP, I am not a faggot shill for this game, so I will give you the truth about it. It fucking sucks ass and the majority of people that like it do so because of waifushit, but its story becomes less grating later into it as it approaches more actual Xeno content. I would honestly say it might be worth just pressing on, I was glad I didn't completely quit by the end but I would never replay it.X and 3 have their own problems. X has a very interesting concept and its world map is insanely beautiful and expansive. It and XBC itself were the only games in the series I ever felt inspired to explore around. But it feels very rough around the edges, like you're playing an MMO that was taken offline years ago. Also not that I mean to spoil plot, but while the game does have an ending it also contains a stinger for a sequel that will almost certainly never come. As for 3, I am not much of a fan so far. I dropped it some months back but plan to emulate it and go through again. It has an interesting job system but the overall plot and especially the villains seem really bad. I'm guessing it opens up later if it follows from what 2 did, but I'm about 25 hours in and they're still cartoon-evil.
