Yakuza 8 Sales Are "Strong", Especially In Japan and Asia

>Furthermore, sales in Japan and Asia seem to have made up a big part of this momentum, as Yokoyama notes, “The game is incredibly strong in Japan. Sales in (the rest of) Asia are also quite strong, but the momentum in Japan is even greater than in the past.”

Japanese console games used to have nice bikinis in 2024-2025, under great DEI era of Kishia and Ishiba, such as FF7RB, Persona 3 reload, Mario Kart world, Rune factory: GoA, Red alchemist and White guardian, Shine post and trails of sky 1st.
But in 2026, under Takaichi's conservative rule, bikinis are gone from Japanese console games. Blue reflection Q got swimsuits removed, Trail 2nd got Estelle's swimsuit nerfed from cute bikini in 1st to toddlerish shirt in 2nd, and P4 revival will get swimsuits for females censored as gender neutral shirt and shorts as well while boys go topless.

What happened under Takaichi Sanae's law when she supposed to protect freedom of expression?
Even overwatch and fortnite has bikinis while Jap console games cannot in 2026.

This is not edit, but more like comparison for Jap console games in 2024-25(Kishida and Ishiba) and 2026(Takaichi)...
24-25 had lots of bikinis while 26 got bikinis goner from Jap console game.
See Estelle in 1st was super chad who can wear a bikini while 2nd Estelle is a toddler who cannot wear a bikini at all and wears an ugly shirt instead.

remember what they have taken from us.

It is true that Jap console games cannot have bikinis in 2026 under Takaichi's rule. As Blue reflection quartret got bikinis erased, Sky 2nd got Estelle's swimsuit nerfed as toddlerish rashguard shirt, while she was chad who can wear a bikini in 1st. Persona 4 revival will get female swimsuits toned down as genderless shirt and shorts as well while boys still go topless.

They're gameplay-focused games. And they're adventure games to boot.
Why anyone would think they wouldn't sell on the Switch I have no idea.
The Switch is even the leading platform when it comes to RPGs. Having practically taken over from the Vita.

Playstation gamers would rather live service games or whatever wolverine is trying to be and games like it.

>Tom V Hresvelg' might be an alias,
No fucking shit, anon. He used to go by Tommy Blaiddyd. He'll probably go by Tomas von Riegan next. He's very clearly ESL and people say he even said he was SEA at one point.

CODNext is starting today along with the MW4 beta so people are now able to show off Modern Warfare 4 on the Switch 2. COD's been bloated since its Warzone era but it's always ran well and it looks like the Switch 2 port is no outlier.

Might be interesting if the Switch 2 port is what finally reverses COD's decline in Japan since Sony took over localization duties.

COD at 60fps with no DLSS(artifacts) is very surprising

Sort by new and look for comments made around Aug 13. Unless he's a total pussy and also deleted the comment it should still be there with his new username.

The regular price is 64.99, it's only cheaper by having applied a coupon, which isn't related to the game...

Anyone else notice how common "I hate gaming journalists and don't trust them, but would never ever ever ever ever doubt something negative they say about nintendo!" is among the NDS afflicted? Full blown schizos here notwithstanding.
